A seat that was offered by the driver for my nephews to sit in for the tour

First off, make to purchase your tickets 24 hours online in advance. If you purchase tickets in person, only one person "knows how to use technology" as they put it in their words and that person is a trolley driver. So we had to wait until she was done with her tour. Which included parking the trolley, getting everybody off the trolley and running the computer. My daughter and I took my nephews ages 5 and 7 on a trolley ride. I sat with one nephew in a seat and she sat with the other in a seat. Before we left the driver asked everyone "didn't someone agree to have someone sit on their lap?" Nobody agreed to that so he asked me if my nephews could sit in front by the driver. I said, "absolutely not!!"Come to find out the ride was overbooked. As we were driving off in the trolley, (beside the fact the driver made a tight left turn that almost hit a car, everyone gasped!) I seen two older kids (maybe 10 & 11) sitting where he called in front by the driver, where he wanted to seat my nephews. As we got off the trolley I couldn't believe what these children we're sitting on, a wooden box! Those children could've seriously been injured and shame on him for even suggesting any children should sit there just to make money? How being honest instead of risking the safety of children's lives and others to make money?

This trolley ride is awesome! You get to ride and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Stillwater, while learning some of the history of Stillwater, historical buildings and houses. It's breathtaking! The trolley driver/tour guide is always terrific. It's really, really worth it. I always recommend this tour to people going to Stillwater for the first time or suggest to people who have out-of-towners visiting! It also leaves right at the Freighthouse restaurant's parking lot, a fun, place to dine, which I have also reviewed about. http://www.yelp.com/biz/freight-house-stillwater#hrid:TmjVokP2m8e9c4lOHUxcPA

The trolley tour was a hoot. Our tour guide was funny and very entertaining. We learned about the town and would recommend it.

Knowmad gets my highest recommendation from our initial phone conversation to having a Knowmad…read morespecialist see us off at the airport for our return trip home. We spent an unforgettable 10 days hiking the (express!) Inca trail to Machu Picchu and visiting Lima, The Sacred Valley, Aguas Calientes and Cusco. I could write 10 pages about how much we loved traveling with Knowmad so I'll try to stick to the highlights. My husband and I usually handle all of our own travel planning, but when we came across Knowmad while researching how to visit Machu Picchu we realized we would probably get a lot more out of a trip to Peru traveling with specialists from the country. This was 1000% true and working with Knowmad made planning our trip so easy and fun. Our travel specialists Renee and Shannon found a way for us to do everything we wanted to do (and so much more!) while staying within our budget. They were remarkably thorough with answering my countless questions and we could not have been more prepared for our visit, with very minimal effort on our end. Once we met up with our Knowmad guide, Fernando, in Cusco every day of our trip was amazing and we learned so much about the Inca culture and the Andes while having a ton of fun and going at our own pace. By the time we made it to Machu Picchu it was so much more meaningful because we had an understanding of what makes it such a special and mystical site. The Inca trail was absolutely breathtaking (and I'm not talking about the altitude ) and we couldn't have done it without Fernando as our fearless guide. He looked out for us every step of the way and made us feel like family throughout our time with him. Our trip wouldn't have been nearly so memorable without him. Another highlight was our e-bike ride through the Sacred Valley with our awesome guide Kirvi, who was so kind and on top of making sure we were safe and even getting some awesome photos and videos along the way. Our driver Abraham made us feel so welcome and kept us moving along and safe throughout our trip. The restaurants and hotels Knowmad arranged for us were excellent, and our picnic in the Sacred Valley and Pachamanca experience were unbelievable. Thank you Knowmad for making our trip such an incredible experience we will never forget!

Some good and some bad on this one. First of all, Ken (the owner) was awesome. We tried to schedule…read moreseveral times and they were always full or the weather didn't cooperate. We did (finally) find a date that worked but it was a few days after our Groupon expired. He let us go ahead and book the date with our deal anyway and just ran the Groupons that day to get his money. Awesome service there. We were pleased with this. Second, slight miscommunication. We weren't told where to go, so we drove to the office address listed on the Groupon - which was the business address and not the place the tour was taking place. We had to call to get directions after no one showed up at the business office. The ride itself was awesome. The Segways were a lot of fun,the initial training period was well done, and the trail in Stillwater was very scenic and a great choice. The actual activity was a blast and I would highly recommended everyone experience it. Our guide - Dave - was fun and gave a couple historical tidbits along the way. At the end though, Dave and the other guide asked for tips which I thought was incredibly tacky. If you want to say up front that gratuities are welcomed and there will be a tipjar at the end - then fine and leave it up to people to decide if they want to tip and how much. I can understand that. I don't know if tipping activity guides is really a thing, but you know, you can throw it out there. But that's not how it went. As we were unloading from our Segway units, Dave told each of us that the expected gratuity was $5 per person and we could pay him or the other guide. I think it's pretty bold (and tacky) to outright say a tip was expected, and then to actually specify a dollar amount. You could at least say it in a fun way if you're springing it on someone so they don't feel pressured - like "Hey if you had fun and maybe want to buy us a beer - you're welcome to throw a couple bucks our way in the tip jar". As we weren't expecting to tip, some of us didn't have cash on hand, and some of us didn't have change to break it down into $5's. We scraped together a couple bucks from the handful of singles we could scrounge up. If it were my business, I'd let people up front know that the guides could be tipped if desired and that the best thank you would be a positive review on social media and recommending your friends try it. The aggressive tip collection put a bad taste in my mouth on an otherwise fun day, and as a result I have a hard time recommending this company to anyone, which is too bad because the owner was great and the activity was fun.
