Got the beef with curry and rice. Small and simple and worth the money. Sauce was nice and not overly salty. Beef was tender and thinly sliced and mixed perfectly with rice. Vegetables balanced the heaviness of the dish. It is self-service. If you are in the area, you ought to give this place a try if craving Japanese food or sushi.

Bento box with Spicy Chicken.

I ordered the spicy chicken bento box with California roll. They were busy with takeout and sit down orders, but our food was out within 10 minutes of placing the order. Very clean restaurant with Great Food and Excellent Service!!

Had the spicy ramen and it was delicious. Broth was creamy, not so spicy but it's ok. The noodle was perfect, chewy, and not soggy. The charsui pork was tender, the bamboo shoots was a great touch. Would have liked chinese broccoli instead of the bok choy, but that was OK. Best ramen I have had in a long time. Also, had the chirashi bowl. The fish was fresh, it wasn't cold, the fish was room temperature so the texture was wonderful, tender and not soft like the fish was left out for a long time or fish was old. The rice was warm and not too much where it takes away from the flavor of the fish. Would definitely recommend and next time when I get back to Toledo, I know where I am going. The chirashi also came with a miso soup. I cannot really comment on the soup as when I got to the soup it was already getting room temperature, but I'm sure it would have been great like the rest of the dishes. I should have drank the miso first, but I forgot to as the other dishes looked to appetizing. Compliments to the chef and his/her team for an appealing and tasteful dinner.

Excellent place! Heard a lot about this Japanese restaurant in Toledo. Taste is very traditional. Place is clean and spacious. People are super friendly! Got their chicken bento box and enjoyed every part of it! Also tried their sushi roll (forgot the name) and salmon was very fresh. Would demurely recommend!

19. Spicy Crab Tempura

Same as above, still an awesome place I frequent. I remembered to take a photo of the food before inhaling all of it this time. Service is still great, food comes out fairly quick, and the place has a peaceful atmosphere.

This place is the best ramen place in town! I wish there were more restaurants near by so I can frequent them as much as I want to. The ramen and shrimp shumai are my top favorites! Highly recommend anyone who enjoys ramen! The employees are very wonderful and kind!! The shop is lovely as well.

Insane gem in Toledo. I do have to say "no, SERIOUSLY" when I talk about this spot to friends and…read moream generally met with (understandable!) skepticism that sushi in the Midwest could be so phenomenal. 6/5 stars. The omakase is a must experience for any foodie and especially for anyone who loves sushi & yakitori! Came here for the first time 4 years ago, and again a few weeks ago. What struck me is that the same head sushi chef was there then and now and that they haven't really changed the menu too much. Yes absolutely there were new and creative twists, but there are tried and true staples which have been mastered. That feels like their vibe overall - friendly, neighborly, confidence in what they have and will keep doing what they're doing, seemingly resisting any pressure to expand or get bigger. It's perfection! The omakase menu has three phases: chef's kitchen, yakitori, sushi (gorgeous nigiri courses finished with the most insane cut roll I've ever had). Everything is delicious. No misses. My favorite phase is the sushi. We STARTED that off with the most melty buttery otoro. I thought that was bold, surely it could only go downhill from there. I was proved wrong bite after bite!! Seriously, imagine a series of nigiri bites that hold their own after the BEST. Of the yakitori, the chicken meatballs were my fave, so juicy never change. Highest quality, well crafted, expertly executed menu. Lowkey I also love that this omakase ends with the most delicious cut roll, and not dessert. As a savory girl through and through, this is perfect. The onlyyyy downside is that all the rich food gives me a bit of a stomachache afterwards :D. 10000% worth it.

Had I had come a minute later there wouldn't have been a table. The fish tasted really fresh. One thing that caught me off guard was the ambiance. It had more of an American pub vibe w very little Asian decor, atleast from what I saw. Also just a tad bit over priced, would I come back? Maybe. This was the most expensive sushi in the city but quality is there.

I used to love this place. I would go in here for lunch semi-regularly, often enough that two of…read morethe servers remembered me. I'd get a roll and a salad. The roll was amazing then. I had started telling my wife "I can't believe something can taste this good!" The only other place in Toledo I would have something about which I would say this about was Souk. But then sometime towards the end of last year, the roll changed. It was still pretty good, but not the superb thing I had come to love. So I stopped coming in so often, but still once in a while in the hopes that they would go back to how they used to make it. I'd given up, but today broke down and went in today as I missed it so much. But my hopes were dashed as the roll was just pretty good. So I'll have to start the search to find another place to get my fix for rolls. Another thing is that during this time frame is how most of the time the salad comes out with just a bare dribble of dressing on it. So I guess a plausible explanation for this places downfall may simply be from skimping due to food costs.

This is, without a doubt, the best place in the surrounding area for fresh, high-quality, and…read morefairly priced sushi. I'm consistently amazed at the quality and quantity in relation to the prices. It's a hidden gem that's not so hidden anymore--no matter the day of the week, the restaurant is always bustling with diners. I recommend making a reservation on weekends, as it tends to get busy, while weekdays are more low-key. The service is exceptional, and the drinks and bar offerings are fantastic. While wait times can be longer when ordering sushi--especially during peak hours--everything is made fresh with clear attention to detail. Although there are many creative and extravagant rolls on the menu, the Beast Roll remains a personal favorite. Topped with crab and shrimp tempura, it's an incredible value at around $12.50. The combination of quality, price, and service here is unmatched, making it the best bang for your buck. I've tried various dishes and appetizers, and I've been consistently satisfied each time. Having dined here numerous times, I've never encountered a single issue, which is a rare and impressive feat. Their takeout service is equally excellent.

The restaurant has a nice intimate feel that makes you forget you're in a casino The food was exceptional. The miso soup was filled with seaweed and tofu. The scallops were succulent and juicy, the NY strip was extremely well seasoned. We got the salmon yellowtail roll, negitoro, and spicy tuna We've been long supporters of Kengo and got enough cards to have $100 of free food. It was difficult for us to get to $100 as we were already full from all the food we had. They allowed us to use our remaining $20 to pay for the ladies meal next to us We will definitely return

This is not a place where you can get one large meal and leave stuffed!! The service was great, our waitress was so knowledgeable and friendly! My favorite was the bacon wrapped baby bell peppers. Nothing negative to say, just wasn't worth 5 stars to me. Would be back on special occasions if that's where our group ended up but wouldn't seek it out myself!
