I am (admittedly!) a high maintenance bride, and I had a ton of little changes I wanted to make on my difficult-to-alter wedding gown. Add a slit, fix the pleats, add removable straps (for which I had a VERY specific vision), make sure the interior tulle of the dress pulled to the edges so I could properly move and dance, make sure the strapless dress wasn't moving on me one inch, while also making sure I could still breathe and eat... Kendra had the solution for ALL of it. Including so many solve ideas that I would've never thought of. She's clearly an expert in the field of alterations, and she literally said "oh yes absolutely" to every question I had that started with "is there any way to..." FAIRY GODMOTHER. On top of all of that, Kendra has the disposition to calm any high strung bride (or mother) during a potentially stressful part of the process. Her welcoming, kind and "of course we can!" attitude made me so at ease (peaceful, even?), during this process and I cannot state the importance of this enough. Not only that, she made sure the finished product of each adjustment was also up to HER standards, which are high. She was so good that I even had her work on two other wedding looks for me, had her dye my veil to match my dress, and she even helped me adjust my SHOES to my ideal dream look! I mean, what can't she do?! Kendra J - and her sister, who I also worked with in the beginning - are a high-maintenance, type A, dancer & perfectionist bride's dream come true. Cannot recommend them enough with such an important part of such an important time in someone's life.

I woke up and decided I wanted to find my wedding dress that day. As some of you know, it's nearly impossible to do walk-ins at bridal shops. After going to a few and trying to schedule a few appointments, which we successfully did for later in the evening, we called BE. They had just opened and advised they could fit us in immediately. As soon as I walked in the door, I was welcomed by a few of the staff members. The interior of the building was decorated gorgeously. Private bridal suites, with couches, chairs for guests and extremely large mirrors. A separate room with a large mirror to dress in private. Devon introduced herself and informed me she would be my bridal consultant for the appointment. Devon led me back to a private viewing room and asked to see pictures and pinterest boards of wedding dresses I liked. She asked specifically what I liked about it, what I disliked and what I was indifferent on. After going through the run down, Devon personally measured me to ensure the dresses I tried on would fit. The best part was that Devon wasn't awkward about seeing me in undergarments or somewhat naked when trying on dresses. She made me feel comfortable in my own body and not judged. After going to some previous shops, I wasn't measured and they guessed which led to me not being able to fit in certain gowns and getting stuck so this was very reassuring off the bat. Devon is hands down one of the most sweetest, kindest, outgoing, bubbly and most helpful consultant I've ever encountered. Devon listened to understand which was huge for me. Devon pulled a variety of dresses and helped me realize the dresses I liked in the photos, I didn't like on my body. We were able to figure out what dresses fit my body type and the very last dress Devon pulled happened to be my dream dress. Devon took me to the celebration suite when she asked if I was saying yes, then popped a bottle of champagne. They also gave my pregnant friend a sparkling water so she could enjoy as well. The owner came in and personally congratulated me and gave me compliments on the dress. After dressing out, they asked to take a yes picture to celebrate. All in all, this is hands down the best small business bridal shop I've ever been to. This experience made me so glad to have chosen this shop. Thank you ladies, you've outdone yourself

First of all, the stylist we worked with was SO nice, fun, and helpful. She was five stars all the way. I loved the dresses she tried - all of them were gorgeous. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 and not 5/5 is because the building itself has seen better days and in comparison to some other bridal boutiques it just didn't have as much elegance (though was still very nice!) also it felt less intimate since there were probably 3-4 other fittings going on and you had to walk through at least one of them to get to our fitting room, which felt a bit awkward. Overall would I recommend? Absolutely! Is it the *best* experience in town, maybe not, but it's a close second.

Altar Bridal Review…read more I had the absolute pleasure of shopping at Altar Bridal for my very first wedding dress shopping experience. Nancy was a kind, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgable consultant who made me feel so comfortable and beautiful! She listened to what I wanted and made sure to show me plenty of dresses that fit that vision, but she also showed me some gorgeous dresses that were outside of my comfort zone. She explained all of her choices, why she picked them and how she thought they fit my vision or would make me feel and walked me through the details on each one. I knew I wanted to try a little of everything since I had never tried any sort of gowns on before and she delivered! I was able to see myself in a variety of silhouettes and styles, which really helped me narrow it down to the dress of my dreams. It's also worth noting that she was extremely respectful of my budget, which is something I was nervous about with dress shopping in general. I left the appointment feeling confident, beautiful, and so happy. I felt like Nancy was committed to finding me the dress of my dreams, regardless of where I ended up finding it. She was genuinely happy to hear about my second appointment at a different store and told me I'd have a great time. She also let me know that if I ended up wanting to move forward with a dress that I'd tried at Altar, all I would need to do is call and let them know. I never once felt pressured to buy anything from there, which was something I was also worried about with dress shopping in general. Ultimately, my second experience paled in comparison to the one at Altar. At the end of both appointments I knew that a dress I had picked out at Altar was the one for me (coincidentally, it was the very first dress Nancy had me try on, which I think speaks to how well she understood what I was dreaming of!). I called and talked to Sarah, who was also extremely kind and helpful, and told me the dress was mine! Overall, I would definitely recommend Altar Bridal for a wonderful, personal dress shopping experience! Thank you so much to Nancy and Sarah for making it so special!

Before my first appointment, they gave me instructions on what to bring (like my bridal shoes and undergarments). However, they were never pushy and let me make my own decisions with what I wanted done to the dress. On my final appointment, they recorded a video on how to bustle my dress and gave instructions on how to zip it up. Ultimately, I ended up leaving this place with a bad taste in my mouth. When I got sized up and measured for my old suit, a blazer, and a casual button-down, everything was great. The staff was friendly, and Sarah did a nice job talking me through everything. I'll be real, it was ultimately a lot more money than I thought it would be. This place has a good reputation and I needed it done, so I rolled with it. You pay up front and then come back on the date they tell you. I'll say, a courtesy call that it's ready would've been nice as this is the kind of thing that easily slips the mind. Went in to get it, and noticed the button-down was still crazy long. Like, too long to wear. We had just sized it up a few weeks prior, and again, I remember it all clearly having had a positive interaction. I remembered the specifics -- at one point I thought the suggested length would be way too short, but we ultimately settled on an inch or so hemmed up. So I mention this, and whoever was taking care of me (not the same, friendly person from my first visit) was acting as if they'll make it all right, but noted it would be a new job. I.e., I'd have to pay even MORE than the $335 I'd already paid for the suit, blazer, and shirt taken in. I was surprised and was like, OK, but then it didn't sit well... again, I remember already going through this. That's where they left it. The way it came off to me was a half-assed, "Oh we just want you to be happy, so feel free to leave it with us and we can do what we said we were going to but charge you more for what we originally promised." Customer service matters, and you never want to drop a bag of money and feel dissatisfied, but that's where I'm at. I'm giving the courtesy of three stars again because the first half was a positive experience, and they ultimately got the suit and jacket right and on time. I respect that, but am disappointed to be right where I started with my shirt. Budget's already spent on alterations for the next couple years, and in my opinion, hemming it an inch to fulfill the original order shouldn't be a hill they die on. On to the next, and if you go here, I hope you get better resolution and customer service than I did.
