This restaurant is a disgrace. Go to Jujubar instead. It's right next door. It has delicious Asian cuisine at very competitive prices.

Rude service. What else is there to say? Ruined any chance of enjoying the meal before we even got the food.

Some of the staff are nice but most will ignore you and the food takes a really long time to come out even if they're quiet.

Shockingly slow and inattentive service, average and overpriced food. Would not return. Spend your money elsewhere.

Sorry Australia, but you suck at cooking steaks…read more After a few tries at a few places, I'm now convinced that you export all your good beef and force the leftovers upon your unknowing citizens. My last attempt of an Australian steak was at Cha Cha Char. The waitress assured me that the Wagyu rump had the best marbling of any of their steaks and it would be the fattiest. My cohorts ordered a couple of the other steaks, so we had a fair assessment of the spread. Opening up the dinner was an auto-amuse of beef wrapped around some stuff. Meh, nothing too fancy here; http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/qKhgQa4HSqeYJyN26QqPIQ?select=7hdJuLedzLIvyT9Lm73gjA#7hdJuLedzLIvyT9Lm73gjA Then came my steak with a side of very well executed fried gnocchi. The side was the best part of the meal, each ingredient was there with a purpose and had my plate been full of just this, it would have been a much nicer dinner. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/qKhgQa4HSqeYJyN26QqPIQ?select=FXH2o8O0XYecvAXIsTmrRQ#FXH2o8O0XYecvAXIsTmrRQ The steak itself had an okay crust and was seasoned well enough. But looking inside you can sympathize with my disappointment. Zero marbling. I've had "Australian Wagyu" all over the states and even the worst of that lot easily trumps what was on my plate. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/qKhgQa4HSqeYJyN26QqPIQ?select=d-M97RYS3NpQ8_3mpNp0Tw#d-M97RYS3NpQ8_3mpNp0Tw It was chewy, not that juicy, and really lean. Lean should not exist in a highly marbled steak. Neither of the other two steaks order fared much better. Overall, a miss and the nail in the coffin of my ever trying to enjoy steak down under again. PS - here's a great read on the lie that is Kobe Beef: http://www.forbes.com/sites/larryolmsted/2012/04/12/foods-biggest-scam-the-great-kobe-beef-lie/

Awarded National Restaurant & Catering Award for Excellence as Australia's best steak restaurant -…read morefor the fourth time in a row back in 2007 means that this place means serious steak business. I have on good knowledge that every year these restaurants bid on the prize cows that come from around the country. Basically they try and get the cow that will give them the best steak in a cow auction. It's very prestigious and the top cows have been known to have been bought for over $15000... back in the day, could be more now. To have won this cow, is to have claimed the title The Best Steak In Brisbane pretty much. MSA certified etc etc etc it is the cow to have ticked all the boxes, and now it was up to the chefs. Having said that, these guys know how to cook up the best steak. The prices are on the pricey side being in the fancy pants Eagle Street Pier and the waiters are very particular about the sides and side sauces you put next to your piece of beef. On a Friday night, it gets a bit loud with the business men of Brisbane crowding into their regular tables, opening up their expensive wines and sitting down for the 9:30pm service... the Saturday NIght crowd seems a little better in my opinion. Don't expect there to be many sides with your steak, and expect the steaks to be over $40. Yes, you can get steaks somewhere else for cheaper, but no you won't have had the Cha Cha Char experience that I need everyone to have. So check it out just because.

This restaurant is really worth going to I've eaten wagyu…read morebeef before, this is the first time I've eaten aussie beef, it's really too tender and delicious really highly recommended ‼ Signature Aussie Beef 79/person We ordered the store's signature Aussie Beef , it was really super super tasty, we ordered it medium rare and it tasted like it melted in your mouth. The meat is different on both sides, one side is filet and the other side I don't remember. Personally, I prefer the filet, the meat on the other side is a little fattier, 79 for one, two to start. The portion and juice is super juicy, and when eating other appetizers you'll feel like this place is middle of the road. Oysters natural 36/half dozen. The oysters are super fresh and the sauce is very special It doesn't taste fishy at all and retains the flavor of the oyster itself, I didn't get much sand which is a plus . Beef Bone Marrow 30. This beef bone marrow is not greasy at all, the heat mastered very well, not only to retain the bone marrow its own fat, but not too oily, with the sauce is a little bit like mustard sauce, very tasty, and with beef bone marrow texture balance is very good. The only downside might be that I'm not a big fan of toasted baguettes They felt too tough. Beef tartare 32. my friend is the ultimate lover of tartare , went to a lot of places to eat, personal feeling is more moderate, the beef is tasty and fresh, but there is no special taste, compared to the beef is inferior. You can skip it if you want to order STEAK. Roasted cabbage . Point to what time to see the wrong thought is bamboo shoots, but in fact quite tasty, I myself is not very like to eat meat all the time, interspersed with a mouthful of vegetables feel more flavorful meat. Cabbage is baked, the outside is more burnt, the inside is still tender, I feel useful tomatoes cooking, eat sour, very unctuous. Butter mashed potatoes 16. personal feeling general, butter flavor and creamy did not imagine so heavy, eat up a kind of KFC mashed potatoes feeling, but also may be because we point too much, and finally eat has been satiated, would like to go to the friends can make a reservation in advance, we went to more than nine o'clock is still a lot of people! The store has fewer waiters. The service will be slower, you can let the waiter ‍ recommend red wine can drink alcohol can try Red wine with beef really eat more and more flavorful

The…read moremenu is hearty and unless you have super-human eating ability you really won't be able to experience the best of the menu as a solo diner. Still with me? Okay let's begin. I stopped in for lunch and dined solo mid-week. Despite being school holidays it was relatively quite. This is definitely a place that needs the atmosphere of many diners to make it feel like (what I imagine) a true Honky-Donk American bar would be like. The waitresses on duty were so lovely and polite. She explained the flag system they have. Just pop the flag atop the menu holder and it signals to them you would like to ask them a question / order / ask them the meaning of life. This worked fairly well with but a handful of patrons, but I do wonder how it goes when they're at capacity. Defeating the very purpose of dining in an American-style venue, I ordered the Mad Dog Tortilla Salad - grilled chicken, mixed lettuce, smoky bacon, tomatoes, avocado, corn, beans (green), goats cheese, sour cream, house made dressing and tortilla chips. It's a hefty salad and it's probably an illusion to think it's remotely healthy, but I did figure it was more virtuous than a burger or hoagie. As far as salads go, it was filling, a good balance of all ingredients but, and this is entirely personal preference, something this robust needs to be served in a bowl not a silver platter. It's just easier eating. All in all: a solid addition to Bulimba and gives them a part of the Brisbane fixation on US-style eateries.

I pursued the menu and the first thing I thought is "YES 'MURICA!" Eager to try them out, I mentioned to my DH when he was finally 'settled in' (and in the midst of removing his shoes) that I'd like to get drinks to 'celebrate.' He put back on his one shoe, and off we went! We ended up sharing a 'Southern Special' 10 Hour Braised Brisket with our chosen sweet potato fries and Bourbon glazed carrots. There's a few of those specials (it's on the second to last page of the menu, just after the BBQ page) - reasonably priced and they come with two sides. I'm not a big meat eater, but daaaammmn that brisket is fiiiinnnnne. And naturally, I came for the drinks - I got the Chipotle and Grapefruit margarita -- perfectly sea salt rimmed Mason wide-mouth jars. Yummily sweet with a nice heat at the back of the throat. I winkled my nose at my DH's choice of Long Island Iced Tea, because I was being a snob as that drink was my 'young, stupid, cheap, and often watered-down preferred drink' - but I am pleased when I tasted it -- good mix and definitely not watered down (just don't let the ice melt, k?). We also ended our meal sharing 'Mum's Milk Punch' (my original desire for one of their Chocolate Peanut Butter milkshake was denied by DH - he's looking out for me). I enjoyed looking at other people's meals, and had a giggle when I glanced at a pretty lady taking a bite out of one of their German hot dogs (...sorry, I know.) In all, we have been impressed, especially as it is a sister restaurant to La Quinta next door (we weren't terribly impressed with the food there). They have the same ordering system where when you're ready to order, put up the flag on the Longhorned cattle head at your table.
