Rialto Luas Stop is a dreary-looking stop in the midst of a generally unpleasant district of Dublin's southside. The road by Rialto Bridge that it is situated on looks barren and the stop itself unadorned. Only two ticket machines afford it any distinguishing quality. It is located along the abandoned extension from the Grand Canal to James Street Basin that was once again built to serve the Guinness Brewery. This abandoned canal extension is now used for the Luas Red Line from Connolly Station to Tallaght that the Rialto stop is a part of. The houses that you are able to glimpse from the stop are very commonplace with the area resembling a mining town with a distinct industrialized feel. Unless you live around here or are visiting friend's the surrounding area is not one that you would otherwise want to visit with high crime rates and tales of assaults and burglaries a plenty. read more
