Milltown Luas Stop is situated in a very remote corner of Rathmines. From the stop itself it is a 15-20min walk to Rathmines village. Compared to the bustling village awaiting in the centre of town when you initially dismount the tram you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the wrong place as the stop is perpendicular to leafy residential roads of the affluent Rathmines suburbs and generally very isolated in both look and feel. In recent years the stop has since been teeming with students from Trinity College Dublin whose halls of residence are situated at the top of Temple Road, an upper class road populated with expensive houses and a chapel. The Canadian ambassador also lives here in a fine-looking mansion. Furthermore, a girl's school runs vertical to the Luas stop and so the foremost sights here are scruffy students and an abundance of groomed secondary school children in a perceptible red and white uniform. read more
