This allows you to go through typical customs you would once in America. However, it's done before boarding in Dublin meaning once you land in the States, it's no different than landing domestically. The airport itself is clean and easy to navigate. Employees are helpful and friendly. They've got shops (including my beloved Boots) and restaurants like any other airport.

I flew out from T2 years ago and this was the first time I had cause to witness T1 first hand. The terminal is the older one but it manages to remain a pretty decent looking if almost purposely designed middle of the road terminal interior. Nothing to write home about. The staff however were not brilliant, there was a definite attitude of annoyance at being asked very basic questions about directions and what travellers need to know when checking in etc. The queueing times were long at check in as well as Ryanair had only one lady on running from behind the desk to the automated machines and having to keep everyone right, this held things up a lot, the short queue od about 8 people ahead of us took a long time to be sorted. Once my friend left I hung about a bit longer as I would have left and run right into rush hour. So my experience is all airside. I ate in Starbucks that was fine, as was the coffee, however again the letdown was jaded and tired looking staff, who just could not seem to lift their spirits enough to maintain a basic level of courtesy. Cleanliness in the food area was a bit lacking as most of the free tables were still covered in empties and crumbs. Its still passable as a facility, but most front line staff directly employed by the airport, airlines and the on site businesses could do with more support from their employers to enable them to provide a better service.

I'm pregnant and need to bring my feet up between international flight. This is the most unfriendly airport towards the elderly, pregnant women, and those with disabilities. I explored the entire airport for 4 hours and there's not even ONE area with minimally a carpeted floor to sit on to bring your feet up. This isn't traveler friendly at all. They treat people like cattle. Sad to see.

He didn't know until we arrive at the aerodrome ! 1* For the Staff : I was in contact with John Nugent from the moment I booked the voucher on groupon in October 2015. The weather being what it was, there was no way we could fly. But John kept in touch and he was very kind. Last week we planned the flying lesson for the next weekend. This morning he called me before the lesson to confirm. So professional and nice ! 1* For the preparation : They are obviously used to have couple coming over. The girl get a voucher for her man to fly. That's funny actually ! So we got our yellow jackets to go out on the airfield. The instructor explained everything about the plane to mister while I was chatting to a lovely man about planes and the conditions to fly. After 14 minutes the plane took off. 1* For the flight : The flight lasted 45 minutes. I will write more when I get the details :) 1* For the waiting room : Whiler mister was flying I took pictures and wrote my review. The reception room is big and warm. On one side there is a little cafeteria where I could sip on a cuppa while waiting for my man to come back. The prices are really cheap and everybody is lovely. It looks like a family place where people gather around their hobby and have a good time really ! 1* For the organization : While I was waiting I could tell the schedule is well organized. People arrive, check in, wait for a bit, and while they wait the staff comes to update how long is left to wait. I really appreciated that. It makes all the difference and customer really feel taken care of ! This was such a great idea for a birthday present ! I think I will probably try myself sometime soon.
