We ordered a dozen assorted doughnuts and a Donut Cake. Since we have had Allie's Donut Cakes for several years on many occasions, we held RI Guys to a high standard. Donut Cake --four stars Donuts --3.5 stars but Boston Cream was 5 stars Donut Cakes-- The RI Guys Donut Cake is a simple donut shape; whereas, Allie's offers decorated custom cakes when ordered in advance. Taste: More dense texture donut cake than Allie's. We prefer Allie's. Doughnuts: Individual donuts are similar. Frosting is thicker on RI Guys donuts if that is what you like. We like the donut cake better than the donuts. Value: A medium size RI Donut Cake is $14.99. An X-Large custom Allie's cake is $35. and I believe worth the cost. Allie's only accepts cash which annoys a few customers. Availability: RI ones can be bought at any time the store is open. Allie's must be ordered ahead. RI Guys are even available at the local Dave's Market. Both bakeries have their loyal customers. We are Camp Allie's, but think RI Guys are good. read more

This was my first time at their new location! I was very silly and came in just for a breakfast sandwich and totally regret not getting a donut too because they are always so delicious! Had a great breakfast sandwich with chouriço on it. I always get really excited when that's an option! Their donuts of course are amazing. They have these adorable bigger donuts that can be brought to an event as a cake. Super cute. The coffee was just OK. I tried the gingerbread coffee and it had a nice gingerbread flavor, but it tasted a bit burnt like it had been sitting on the warmer for too long. Service was friendly, but awkward. read more

I don't think the RI Guy's Donuts were quite ready to open today, March 25th in Westerly, RI or they underestimated the response they were going to get. I arrived at 9:30 AM and there was just one selection of a donut available, their credit card system did not show a screen for tip to be added, employees didn't have a stamp available for their coffee rewards card so the employee drew a line with a yellow highlighter through one of the spots which has already rubbed off and one of the bench seats had a rip in it. I could understand if this was an opening for a brand new stand alone store, but this is their third store, I believe, so all this should have have been taken care of since they already have stores in operation. However did get a bagel sandwich which was very good. read more

They are great as a birthday cake or for a treat to yourself. $14.99, always fresh and stays fresh days after you open the box! URI students are so lucky to have this on campus. Wow! URI students are so lucky they have this place on campus. Knew I would love this place because I heard they're similar to Allie's which are the real deal. The old fashioned donuts are where it's at. All regular donuts are only $2. My favorite was the glazed blueberry stick. It was unbelievable! Fried perfectly, great glaze, nice blueberry flavor and the inside had an on-point old fashioned dough. Only $2 and a good size. The other donuts I got was their chocolate old fashioned with chocolate frosting, jelly filled and maple frosted yeast/brioche donut. All were amazing and came to $8 even for all 4 donuts. I tried this place for the first time last year by way of their donut cakes sold at Daves. I picked one up to share at Christmas, and they only had vanilla frosting with sprinkles left. Not my favorite by far but decided to try anyway. Mind = blown. I've literally never enjoyed a vanilla frosting with sprinkle donut more. And the best part was that it was still fresh after being cut into the next day. Went back over the winter to try a variety of donuts. The donuts here are so good! Exactly what I love in a donut. The cake donuts are crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, and the ring donuts are perfectly soft as well. Donuts where very good! When we walked in the greet was a bit stale though. We mentioned it was our first time there and no recommendations or even a welcome? It was awkward to say the least. The owners need to put someone with a better personality at the front greeting the customers. While we were there we also had to listen to the women talking about how she has to give herself shots in her leg for like 10 minutes. I don't really think that kind of conversation should be discussed while customers are around. I asked for my coffee roll to be warmed and she had said they can't do that. A place like this with no microwave? Doubtful. Looking around it appeared as though they had speakers and a TV that was not on at all. Maybe if they where on it would have made the atmosphere better? Just seemed like from the second we walked in we were a bother. The area landscape looks like an absolute mess. The property owner is not helping out its businesses surrounding it. We where hoping this would be a hot spot for us however I can't wait to just go back to Ally's Donuts next year during vacation. Hope they can figure it out and clean things up. read more
