This is me writing from COVID-19 land (context is always important). We were told to stay home, lay low, keep safe. We've been doing that for two months now. Our smiles are impossible to see, if they're there, as we pass each other on the street. We are avoiding eye contact because that could lead to the slippery slope of handshakes and hugs and worse! awkward side-steps as one of us remembers that we have to keep our distance. And then we heard the drums! Drums! The instrument meant to carry a vibration over long distances, to connect us to our pulse and hook us up off of our butts into movement. Aaron did all of this online through Sweet Rhythms: Shelter in Sweetness, an online gathering to drum beats. Aaron started off the connection, broke us into small groups to get to know one another, and then we came together to sounds generated by everyone on the call. The kicker of this experience was the bhangra dance lesson by Dholrhythms Dance Company. It allowed us an outlet for the pent up inertia we've all been collecting in our bodies as we've slowed down and kept quiet. It is a joyous, rhythmic, energetic dance and it felt so good to sweat and see other people bopping along on the screen. I can only imagine how impactful this is in person if, online, it was such a good time. read more

Aaron Kierbel is THE BEST! His rhythm/drumming classes and performances are one of kind- engaging, entertaining, educational and well, darn tootin' FUN. He'll have you tappin' your toes and jiggling your bones long after the performance is over. Double thumbs up and 5 stars for RhythmALLogy. Aaron wants YOU to express yourself, relax and actively participate in making music and feeling the beat. Enjoy this magical world of rhythm with a stellar facilitator, educator and entertainer! read more

We hired Aaron to host a drumming session for toddlers ages 2-6 as part of a 5k run fundraiser in October 2022 for the Los Gatos-Saratoga Observation Nursery School. It was the best decision!! As the fundraiser organizer, I received great feedback from everyone - parents and children. It was the highlight of our fundraiser. Aaron kept the little ones engaged, even as young as 2, and captivated the parents with his simple steps and energizing attitude. It was wonderful to watch the children enamored by the music they were making with his guidance. The parents and children LOVED the engaging musical session. Many asked for Aaron's contact info to hire him for kids parties and future events. If you're looking for a great experience for all ages to bring your group closer together, don't hesitate and reach out to Aaron. He is a fantastic teacher who leads with love and compassion! read more

Aaron is amazing! We've booked him several times for interactive kids' programs at Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. He has a wonderful ability to keep kids and parents alike engaged and learning about rhythms. He brings tons of kid-friendly drums and percussion instruments so everyone gets a chance to play along. Every show is full of smiles, dancing, and lots of drum beats! He's extremely easy to work with, communicative, and punctual - would highly recommend. read more

Aaron was an amazing performer and he engaged everyone. Seniors, adults, and children, all joined in with playing drums. Aaron passed on his love of music and rhythm, especially to the kids. It was a pleasure to have Aaron to perform at our library! read more

Wow, what an experience. I met Aaron leading his drum session on a Late night art event I went with few friends in Oakland. I LOVE music, but I never played an instrument, besides that night. Aaron gave off an amazing experience when we all drum together, using our body, our mind and mostly our passion. I never thought I can play that way but somehow whatever he created was so engaging, so smooth and so soulful. I will remember that experience of playing and connecting with my self and the community from music for a long time. If you are looking for a cool event, which includes music you would never regret it. I find it an amazing tool for team building, community building and even just to create a fun and special night with a bunch of friends or strangers. You will be so moved by what magic happen. And this guy is full of soul and super talent. Cheers for more unique experiences like this one! read more

Love RyhmALLogy! Aaron is a brilliant facilitator who can bring a big group together and make everyone connect on a deep level. While taking Aaron's class I noticed the meditative qualities of drumming in a group, the tribal belonging and synchronizing through the bit. It was a very powerful experience, especially doing it in a group in a guided setting where the Aaron connected everyone in a meaningful fun way. I will recommend his workshops to everyone who want to connect a group together thourgh a powerful experience. read more

Because of the school district and school boards decision to shut down the middle school in east Oakland where I work, I had been holding sadness and anger inside, knowing that it is not "appropriate" or valued to show these emotions in the institution of public school. An angel of a friend understood the communities pain and connected our school to Aaron and RhythmALLogy. The drum circle was healing, liberating, and fun. I hadn't seen the staff laugh and release like that for months. If you're looking for healing or simply a great experience to bring your group closer together, reach out to Aaron! He is a fantastic teacher who leads with love and compassion! read more

Drumming up Fun & Healing: It's was a pleasure working with RhythmALLogy! Aaron craftily weaves together music, fun, and empowerment. He was professional, flexible, and swiftly responded with information that I needed for the event's logistics. He uses improvisation not only with drums but also for workshop creation. He was able to tailor a workshop that reflected and honored the vitality of my community. If you're looking for a creative experience personally or one for your next corporate, community, or school event, I would highly recommend RhythmALLogy. read more

We hired RhythmAllogy for my husband's 50th birthday celebration. Aaron and Jeni did a great job of thinking through the overall plan and cadence for our experience, as well as room and logistical configurations, and also had beautiful instruments to share with our guests. It was upbeat and positive--all ages had a great time--it's the type of experience that can go over really well with a crowd that has a mix of adults and kids in attendance as everyone can participate. We got so much great feedback from everyone, and while it took a bit for some folks to come out of their shells, it no doubt set our celebration a part from the standard fare and gave everyone some good memories to walk away with. If you have a special occasion coming up and can afford to splurge a little, then it's a wonderful and energizing way to go! read more

I've had the pleasure of attending drumming events with Aaron both in-person and online (via Zoom) and can say that he's an amazing facilitator, percussionist, and engaging instructor. Aaron has the unique ability to bring people together through music and create bonds through rhythm. His classes are organized, interactive, and extremely fun for people of all ages. You can feel his love for what he does, as well as for the music, and it gets passed onto everybody in his presence. I couldn't recommend Aaron enough for your next event! read more

This is the BEST rhythm experience I have ever had. Aaron is a very creative, funny, and talented drummer/facilitator. I am terrified of drumming and keeping rhythm (aka not musical at all), but at Aaron's Sweet Rhythms event, I felt myself just enjoy the creativity and connection with others. Highly recommend! read more

I attended a zoom drumming class with Aaron. He was fun and professional and did a wonderful job facilitating our group. Our preschool fundraiser was a hit because of RhythmALLogy! I had so many compliments from parents with children of all ages that the entertainment was STELLAR! Aaron was so easy to work with and very accommodating to us with our not so organized event. He easy engaged our large group (~150) and was able to get everyone involved. There were plenty of instruments to go around. Hire him; you won't regret it! read more

When Aaron told me about his new online program Sweet Rhythms: Sheltering in Sweetness, I knew I would support him and gather my friends around the country to participate. But I secretly wondered if this would be our kind of thing. I love hearing him play drums in the many jazz groups he's part of, but drumming online? And Bhangra dancing (folk dances of India)? I mean, I'm 72. And I'm from no nonsense Pittsburgh. But I gathered friends from Denver, Fort Mills, South Carolina, Los Angeles, Pasadena, West Virginia and the Burg. How silly to have doubted. First, I was warmed by how he welcomed each of us and made us feel like we had just entered his private studio. Then, I was impressed with how adept he was with Zoom. He had obviously spent hours figuring out how to make it work together seamlessly so we 30 or so participants felt connected. We were to bring something with which to make rhythm. All I could come up with was a box of Cheerios. But no matter what we brought, he got us making simple sounds at first and then quickly pulled us into his magical world of rhythm with no intimidation. Smiles from all across the country and the world erupted in our individual Zoom tiles filling the screen. And the dancing with Vicki Virk. Well, it was the most I'd moved in weeks and it felt so good. Seeing my friends up and moving and laughing brought such happiness to my heart. The hour and half went so fast. During this time of social distancing, I must say that I have never felt so connected to humanity. And that is all because of Aaron Kierbel. He is a light in the world. And I hope you get to bask in it one day. read more

There is no question in my mind that RhythmALLogy can help any group facilitate meaning and conversation. Aaron came to our religious congregation, help facilitate meaning-making during our "Time for All Ages" in which the entire congregation was able to participate. Additionally, afterward, Aaron used Rhythm to facilitate great conversation (and SO MUCH FUN!) into our youth group, tying in themes for the week. Aaron was able to teach the youth valuable lessons, while also maintaining their attention (middle schoolers) and creating fun. I have seen very few people with the dexterity to create meaning with music. What a blessing RhythmALLogy is! :) You'd be well suited to include RhythmALLogy to help facilitate any group or conference. read more

When the pandemic hit in early 2020, and we had to shelter in place, I had a lot of empathy for all the folks who had to celebrate their birthdays, graduations, weddings and other rites of passage in a restricted way. When my birthday rolled around in September, I suddenly found myself in the same situation. I wanted to make my birthday unforgettable, and bring my circle of friends together in person, but in a safe way. So I immediately thought of Aaron and RhythmALLogy! Drumming together in a physically-distanced circle is the ideal way to celebrate any major life event during COVID times. Aaron respected all safety protocols, and even brought disinfectant for the drums so we could have an amazing celebration that we will never forget! Aaron helped us get rumbling with some easy call and response ice-breakers, and pretty soon we were howling at the moon and dancing around our makeshift firepit (a solar-powered lantern). Thank you so much to Aaron for bringing rhythm to our hearts and bodies, elevating our spirits and helping us embody and live out our intentions! I cannot recommend Aaron and RhythmALLogy enough. He is so generous with his creative gifts in a way that includes, engages and inspires *everyone* to reach higher ground. read more

I have hired Aaron for multiple in person events - school music & movement classes for Elementary aged kids and adult drumming staff events for our non-profit programs. He is fabulous! I can't recommend him enough! He is able to meet the diverse range of needs of the group and adjust to the moment and bring the kids and adults into the fun and learning and joy of drumming and music. The kids at the program I ran were all special needs students with severe mental health issues and often behavioral, emotional and social needs and they loved Aaron's music class and looked forward to it every week. He is engaging, charismatic, playful, and a very talented percussionist. During our recent staff event, we smiled so hard our cheeks hurt. He has a broad range from being able to work with little kids to adults to special needs. If there were more stars I would add them. He is great and you won't be disappointed by hiring him. read more

Aaron did a great job facilitating a virtual happy hour event with my colleagues. Aaron was prepared, high energy, responsive, and fun. Wow. Not only does this man have rhythm, he is masterful at helping others find their rhythm. I participated in a super fun adult drum circle with him, where our musical experience levels varied greatly. Somehow his teaching illuminated the gifts we each had to offer. He is disarming, perceptive, playful, encouraging, sincere and amazingly energetic - and although the group was made up of mostly people I'd never met, we were all tightly connected energetically and musically, by the end of the hour. If you need someone to facilitate team building, community, or entertainment - Aaron's your guy. read more

My partner and I spent a wonderful afternoon in Oakland for a Rhythmallogy drum circle. We arrived with the circle of chairs and drums already set up and ready to play. Aaron, head Rhythmallogist, instructed us to choose a drum and he led us through 90 minutes of percussion games and activities. He started off teaching us a few key drum techniques, but the emphasis was on community and fun. We were encouraged to play and experiment with our drum and different rhythms. (Neither of us have any prior drum experience). Aaron led the group with enthusiasm, positivity and care. After the drum circle concluded, we felt awake, grounded, and connected to the other participants. I would highly recommend Rhythmallogy for your community event, party, corporate function, team building exercise, or school program. read more

Aaron came to us from Bread & Roses for an afternoon of his amazing entertainment. He completely captured the attention of all the children, (approximately 45 children from 5th grade to preschool) and the the teachers alike. In my very many years at the Fairfax-San Anselmo Children's Center, he is one of the best and most captivating we have had. read more

I wish there were more stars to give !!! Aaron was just amazing ! He was able to engage the kids for the entire duration of the program. His performance comprised of impeccable timing, truck loads of energy, the right amount of drama and an amazing learning experience. My little students were hanging onto each and everyone one of his words and every beat of his drum. He had the children imitate his words and action and they laughed and smiled as they followed along. The performance ended with each and every child getting an instrument from Aaron's extensive and colorful collection of musical instruments and play along with him. In fact, my staff too, got a few pointers about how to incorporate music into their teaching. I not only recommend it, but I would like to say that if you have not had Aaron come and perform for your school, you are missing out on a wonderful musical experience. read more

Aaron led ~20 people from my team through drumming exercises intended to celebrate us as individuals and as a full team. We're a consulting firm, so our day-to-day is pretty stressful. It was so refreshing to have Aaron's humor and upbeat energy -- it's tough to get a group of adults to be silly in front of each other and decompress, but he did it! My team loved it -- a few days later, and they continue to praise the experience and how freeing it felt to be together drumming with an easy going, confident facilitator. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Aaron is a delightful music educator----a Pied Piper with children! As soon as the kids in my class hear his accordion in the hallway, they drop whatever they are doing to run to the door to see him. Aaron is also collaborative with teachers and willing to shape his classes to suit the group of children in front of him rather than having a cookie cutter class format. We always look forward to RhythmALLogy! read more

Aaron has been an amazing addition to our Treatment Program. He has been able to collaboratively engage all of the clients, even the skeptics, to participate and share in the Drumming. It was a major joy to experience Aaron's gifts as teacher and facilitator in his new Sweet Rhythms workshop combining percussion for all levels with chocolate tastings. Such thoughtful choreography of the activity sequence, which made someone like me who has little experience drumming feel so welcome, comfortable and enthusiastic within the first few minutes, and thrilled to arrive at places of more complex rhythms within a short time. This workshop is a gift to both remind us to actively savor life, and to deepen our savoring practices. read more

Aaron is a gifted music educator who brings passion, energy and compassion to his work. He has been coming to the non-profit I work at for several years, bringing music to survivors of domestic violence. The pure joy of watching women who have survived so much in their lives make music and share a community space is a testament to Aaron's gift of using music to break down barriers and create community. His spirit exudes joy and that joy becomes contagious. I see women come to group shy and skeptical and leave smiling, dancing and laughing. We always look forward to a visit from Aaron! read more

Aaron is a dynamic, joyful, talented and skilled professional music educator, drummer and percussionist. I have worked with Aaron in jails, prisons, schools and in reputable music venues for performances. I am consistently inspired by the responses and movement that each group experience has. He is an absolute JOY to work with and his contributions to building community are invaluable from holding the entire rhythm for a group to improvisation with an incredible amount of creativity. I've seen him engage children, young adults and adults alike from highly structured environments to open/organic settings. After a session I often hear immediate and impassioned invitations for his return. His drumming and percussion are in high demand in the Bay Area and equally so as a music educator/community builder. I can't speak about his work and spirit enough! Schedule a session with him for your school/group/community...now :-) read more
