The caveat is you have to buy at the location, which works out for me since it's walking distance. If you buy online there's a nearly $4.00 booking fee. This beats out AMC for my family now, opening up later screenings and flexibility. I'll update more tomorrow, but like the building is newer so far and also doubles as a screening place for Amazon, which means it should be very accommodating.

At a recent showing, I ordered the Culver Combo and the popcorn was almost entirely small, crumbly fragments, the tiny broken bits you'd normally find at the very bottom of the bag. It was basically impossible to eat. I got a refill halfway through, assuming I'd just gotten the ends of a batch, but the replacement scoop from a fresh machine was no better. On top of the texture, the popcorn also just doesn't taste good. it had a slightly burnt taste every single time. 2) About an hour into every movie, it becomes obvious there's no AC or fan running. I wouldn't be surprised if a CO2 monitor showed elevated levels. I've flagged this to staff on all three visits, and each time turning on the AC fixed it immediately, but it's never on by default. Sitting in a hot, stale theater for two hours is genuinely unpleasant, and the difference in air quality the moment you step into the hall is obvious. I really want to like this theater, it's a local business and I'd rather support it than a big chain but I won't be returning unless these issues are addressed/fixed.

I take my popcorn seriously! Like most of my bought food; I like it fresh & hot! I deal with it! Now; recently, they have changed the snack pack box! I don't like the fact that it seems smaller than the regular snack pack box and I was told that I couldn't get the regular snack pack box because of some promotion and now they must give out these new boxes; which seem smaller! Anyhow; I don't like them and if I'm paying my money; I want what I want! Those are my problems; however minor to some but when you are a paying customer; you want what you want! Also; why are things tailored to buy in abundance? Why are there no specials for single grown ups like a medium soda and medium drink? Why can't that be offered as a package deal? The good; customer service is usually pretty good! Lines usually move quickly! It's a nice small place to watch a good movie and I can avoid crowds unless the movies are extremely crowded due to a big showing; like spider man! Those crowds were huge! They have Security so that is always a plus! Parking is close and not so far! I see they offer some specials if you join their club but I'm not familiar with that; just yet! If you don't like standing in line to buy a ticket; you can use the kiosk! Ironically; this is the only place/business I don't mind using the kiosk to purchase a ticket! By now; with all the purchases I've made; I can't help but imagine what savings I would've accumulated! I'll see about joining this club they have for savings but I tried once and it seemed to have you doing a lot! Anyhow; I appreciate the service and while I give it an above average score; there is still room for improvement!

Although everyone seems to have an issue with this theater, it has always been my ole reliable. Today, I had a horrible experience. I'm the eldest sibling of 5 kids. My mom has been sick for a little while now, so I wanted to take my siblings out, and I decided to bring them to the movies. We wanted to watch The Odyssey, but unfortunately we couldn't because it was rated R. I'm 23 years old, my brother is 21, my sister is 17, and my other sister is 15. I've never had an issue bringing any of them in before, but the manager, whose name I don't remember, kept insisting that she couldn't do anything and denied letting my sister in. The only alternative she offered was for us to watch another movie. I understand policies, I work in customer service too but I've never met someone who couldn't even attempt to be a little flexible. Again, I've never had this issue happen before, and honestly, it really ruined what was supposed to be a fun day with my siblings. I just wish there had been more empathy, this honestly came as a surprise.

My son has been wanting to see Devil Wears Prada 2 and the first one is one of his favorite movies of all time. Personally, I don't like that movie but I went along with him. Tickets are $25 each and they have a $4 parking garage, but we were lucky enough to get a free after-hour meter on the street. It's a nice place and it seems like comfort is their top priority. The recliner chairs are extremely comfy and come with a blanket in case you get cold. You know how movie theaters are always chilly. Once you get settled, you can press a button that sends an employee over to take your order. It's completely optional. We got one small popcorn (light butter, $6) which was big enough for both of us. I like this idea of having the option of ordering and dining at your seat while watching a movie, but the reality is a bit different. It's kind of annoying to see the employees coming and going when someone needs a refill or places a new order during the movie. You can hear them talking and they can even block your view. It's frustrating when you are trying to focus. With that being said, I think it has more pros than cons. There are bars and bathrooms located across the several floors and the one we went to was exceptionally clean. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this theatre. I prefer something more standard like AMC or Pacific Theatres (RIP!)...

My wife and I were members of iPic for years and have always utilized the nearby Westwood location…read more Although disheartened when the company entered bankruptcy, we were encouraged to find out it had been purchased and would continue operating as The Cinemas Los Angeles. Last week, we attended a showing of Toy Story 5 at the theater. We learned that not only is the new ownership not offering food service during the transition but intends to abandon that amenity altogether. This is among the most foolish decisions that could be made from a business perspective and will undoubtedly result in a total loss on the owners' investment. The building has a gigantic kitchen going to waste. The screens are small, and the ticket prices are high. The sole reason people have chosen this theater over the numerous options (e.g. Century City AMC) is its special quality of in-theater dining and expanded, up-scale fare. It is absurd that the owners are trying to spin this as an improvement, claiming this unique feature has been "retired in favor of elevated food & beverage offerings -- designed to enhance your cinematic experience by reducing service-related noise, light and other distractions." No amount of polishing to the menu at the tavern will offset the loss of clientele brought on by the abandonment of the in-theater dining option. The owners need only look to the onslaught of terrible reviews streaming in across Yelp and Google or the consensus of complaints in the Reddit community to understand the extent to which this misguided approach will devalue their investment. They will certainly be losing our business until this irrational new approach is reversed.

I haven't been upstairs but it seems like there's a bar or possible café up there. There are a good amount of theaters at this location, including the premium formats like IMAX and Dolby. Concessions is solid here. I imagine that they have quite the amount of traffic that comes through and they handle it well while still being friendly. The food offerings are pretty much the same as your usual AMC theater. I mostly get the popcorn anyway. I've been here recently, a few times to watch movies with a movie club that recently started up. Generally, the experience have been pleasant. My only gripe with the grove and it's not necessarily AMC's fault, is getting here with all the traffic and parking. La Bola Negra is a masterpiece of a film btw, but this review is about the movie theater and the Century City Mall which houses it. The parking is not intuitive and it's in a strange grid and although, I'm used to it and I always take pictures of where I'm parked to make sure I don't lose my car, It still was a pain in the neck. A few escalators later, and asking a few lovely people for directions. I found the movie theater...the problem with the directions in the mall is they are not intuitive and they don't always make sense in my humble opinion. Parking costs me way too much too!! Anyway, my overall experience is IF YOUR MOVIE IS ONLY PLAYING HERE CLOSE BY TO YOU, THEN THERE'S A REASON TO GO TO THIS THEATER . HOWEVER, IF THE MOVIE YOU WANNA GO TO IS PLAYING ELSEWHERE and THAT'S NOT GONNA CHARGE YOU AN ARM AND LEG FOR PARKING AND AN ARM AND LEG PRICE FOR GETTING IN THERE I SUGGEST YOU DO THAT!!!! This was not a great experience today...

I was pleasantly surprised by some of the modern concessions they had, specifically the cans of LaCroix they were selling. Love it. This is located on a busy part of Wilshire. But don't panic. There's parking for you if you're stealthy. Right before you approach the theatre, there's a small side street called Holt. If you turn onto Holt, it's free residential parking all the way down (please read the signs though). Parking closer to the theatre on this street will get you one free hour of parking but if you park several blocks down will give you more time. Consider this option if you don't mind a bit of a walk. I hope to come here for more screenings in the future.

Love the walk in area to talk and get freebies and have social time with everyone. Screens with all the comet shows that are ongoing and Xena coming up. Snacks we got and great dinosaur talk before the movie started. A great theatre experience and then got to share experience with the Comet team. Thanks for bringing Comet to fine arts this year and having freebies too made it all fun
