This store is completely opened up to a parking lot. Basically like a garage with the door open. I quickly ran into the convenience store and as I walk out the woman working was extremely rude telling me my vehicles fumes were entering her shop. She tells me there's a sign she's posted saying no idle zone and it's literally I kid you not a wet piece of paper taped to a small recycling box on the ground she points to. If you don't like car fumes don't have a shop literally in a parking lot with no front. Or friendly suggestion, invest in a more legible sign. read more

I received a birthday bouquet from my sister in law and unfortunately it's probably the worst bouquet I have ever received. The flowers showed up literally already browning. The carnations were limp with brown edges and the roses were paper and crinkly. It also did not come in the advertised pitcher but a small glass container. I sent a picture of the flowers to the person who got me the flowers to say thank you and they quickly let me know that these were not what she had ordered nor expected. I agree with her assessment. I literally had to throw these flowers out the next day. No enjoyment. Get your gift bouquets elsewhere. Total fail. read more

Years ago, any time I stopped by Rhythm and Blooms in Eugene, Oregon to get flowers, it was packed full of people. Beautiful, fresh flowers, put together for you, or in bouquets, and reasonably priced. In the last few years, however, I never see anyone in there. I finally figured out why. I haven't been in for a long time because the last time I did so, I was made to understand in no uncertain terms that my patronage was getting in the way of the staff doing other things that they clearly felt were more important. Well, today I decided to try again and stopped by to get a small bouquet for the table. After telling the staff member quite clearly that I wanted to spend $10.00, I asked her to put together a bunch for me with some colorful Gerber daisies in the bouquet. She proceeded to insist I buy a $17.00 bunch with other flowers in it. I tried to direct her attention to my original request but she was not swayed. When I finally realized she wasn't going to take the trouble to put together a special bouquet for $10.00, I told her I'd have to think about it, and left. "Patronize local businesses"? Not when they're patronizing to their customers. Local businesses go out of business most often not because of The Evil from Afar, but because of their own actions. The fault, dear florist, is not in our stars but in our selves. Complacency, self-regard and wretched customer service does more to shut down a "local business" than a thousand Wal-Marts. If your dream is to open a florist shop, I think you could do worse than Eugene, Oregon. It's not like there's a lot of competition. read more

Rhythm and blooms, specifically this location, is always helpful with what I need. I don't know flowers, so I often talk to the employee for help in create what I want. I have never been disappointed. I always walk away so a beautiful pre made or custom built bouquet, adequately priced, with free flower food, and the perfect touch of ribbons and wrap. In addition to this, Rhythm and Blooms helped me fundraise for surgery on my dog's broken leg. Thanks to their help, and other fundraising efforts, we were able to raise the entire cost of the surgery. read more

The recipient said the flowers were absolutely gorgeous. However, the flowers & balloons were sent for a surgery "Good Luck/Get Well." There was no way on the website to select an occasion for additions, like balloons or cards. My message indicated "Good Luck" & I made note of the occasion. The balloons sent, said "Happy Birthday." I called Rhythm & Blooms to order an arrangement for my girlfriend's birthday. They made some recommendations based on the price range and included some beautiful purple flowers I asked for. The delivery was quick. They had a hard time delivering to a secure area of Riverbend Hospital where my lady works but they called me right away to find a solution instead of just abandoning the delivery. I'm only giving R&B 3 stars now because of the rip off my mother received recently. Every year I have called R&B to order between 2-3 arrangements a year, with a price point between $80-$120. Before I would have given them 5 stars but the last two arrangements are sorry excuses of floral design. This last order I asked for Lizzies and Peonies and I asked for the arrangement to be $120. Rhythm & Blooms at Hilyard has long been one of my favorite flower shops. The service is consistently friendly and helpful; they always have an interesting variety of flowers, greens, and fillers; and the prices are quite reasonable. I love that I can pick & choose to put my own bouquet together, choose one pre-made, or ask them to put one together for me. When asked for advice about filler or more flowers in a bouquet, I've never been upsold and the suggestions have been sound. I recently called in to ask them to put together a bouquet that my brother would pick up to give mom for Mother's Day. I let them know my budget, she asked for color or flower preferences, and I have no doubt it will be a beautiful bouquet. Polite, friendly, and fuss-free. Perfect. read more

UPDATE: after posting my initial review, I thought it was only fair that I reach out to Rhythm & Blooms directly with my feedback. R&B owner/manager, Rachel, got back to me quickly. She was eager to make it right. Instead of making excuses, she offered to make a second delivery of flowers for no additional charge or refund my money. Since the original goal was to send someone lovely flowers, I opted for the 2nd delivery of flowers. I posted the picture of what was delivered and it was beautiful - likely worth more than the original bouquet I'd ordered. I appreciated the swift action from them. As such, I've changed my rating from "meh, I've experienced better" (2 stars) to "A-OK!" (3 stars). I'll order from them again and hope that I have the opportunity to move them to ""Yay! I'm a fan" (4 stars). Original review: Based on previous reviews I called Rhythm & Blooms from the Seattle area to deliver flowers to my step-mom. Based on what I saw on their website, I asked that they start with the "Passionate Purple Tulips" which is listed on the website and add a couple of white stargazer lilies and a few white roses. Pretty specific right? The very friendly gal who answered the phone seemed to understand what I was looking for. I wish I could post a picture with this review because what arrived was a bouquet of mostly greenery, a few pale purple tulips, maybe 3 white roses, 3 white lilies, little filler flowers that look like white daisies and two tall sprigs of what looks like blue delphinium - all haphazardly arranged. The last two flowers I definitely did not ask for. I wouldn't have paid $20 for this bouquet, let alone $60. It's always a bit risky delivering flowers from an unknown, out of town florist for this exact reason. I seems like they feel they can get away with selling you one thing but delivering another. The only reason I gave them stars was because the woman who answered the phone was so nice. My boyfriend ordered flowers to be delivered to my work before I left on Friday at 4:30. He payed double he price to get them there by 2pm. Rhythm & Blooms said they could do it. That they would move his ordered up before everyone else's. I barely got my flowers before I left for the day. They came after 4pm. The surprised was ruined because he called wondering why I didn't text to say that I loved the flowers. This place took his money and didn't provide the service. And another thing, the card was signed YOYO. He spelled it out a few times that he wanted it to say LOYL (love of your life). Ridiculous! Can they get anything right! When he called to complain, they provided no customer satisfaction! I insist that he never orders from this place again! I am traveling internationally and wanted to surprise my girl friend with flowers. I placed the order almost 3 weeks prior to delivery date and notify them that they need to be delivered by noon because her place of work closes early on Fridays. Her work actually closes at 2pm, I am thinking this would give them a 2 hour window of opportunity of not being too late. Well what do you know.... come on take a guess........ thats right, She leaves at 2:15 and no flowers have been delivered. Even before she left I had e-mailed my sister to call them and check on the status to make sure they would be delivered on time, the lady that answered that phone told her "we have not way of contacting the driver, but all orders are out" ... What! Really... your driver does not have a cell phone? lol now that is just plain funny.... So instead of my girl for being surprised by flowers showing up to work while I am traveling and really catching her off guard, I get to tell her via messaging that o ya... I was so very disappointed with this florist. I ordered a simple bouquet for my wedding along with boutonnieres and a corsage. I gave the florist a lot of freedom in the choice of flowers. As a professional, I trust that they will create something beautiful. I showed her photos of what I did like, and was very specific about wanting a loose bouquet, and that I did NOT want lilies to be used. I showed up to pick up my bouquet the day of the wedding, and was confused. The bouquet was tight and symmetrical, and was full of lilies. When I pointed out that this was not the bouquet that I ordered, I was told, "Well, it's prom season. We're low on flowers." I could not believe that as a bride, who had ordered my bouquet well in advance of the date that this would be the response of the florist who made my bouquet. Thankfully my sister rescued the day when she ran over to the farmer's market and rearranged my bouquet. If this florist had simply accepted that she did not make the bouquet that I requested rather than making a lame excuse about prom season of all things, I might be able to give a higher review, but as it is, I would not recommend this flowers for any special occasion. They are fine if you're picking up flowers from the arrangements they already have, but I would not trust them with a special order. read more
