My husband and I wanted to take our first surf lessons as adults at 34 and 35 years old. We were told that Rhode Island would be a great place to give it a try and I found this location through a google search. Signing up was very easy through their online booking platform. We got all of the details through email and showed up the day of ready to go. Our instructor, Chris, took us through the basics before getting in the water and then we got to have the remainder of the time playing on the waves. He helped us get up on a few and gave us opportunities to do it ourselves too before heading back in. We had a great experience and would recommend anyone looking to give lessons a go to say yes! read more

Stepped on a board for the very first time with Lance and then a few days later with Travis - Both really patient and fun, and also great teachers! Super fun and the experience is seamless -- All you have to do is show up to the beach and everything else is taken care of. Can't wait to go back! read more

My guys did the surf camp and loved every second of it! The surf was perfect to learn and instructors were kind and very skilled. I'd recommend to anyone thinking about signing up for surf camp, even for the day, that it is a great experience for kids and made vacation that much more memorable. read more

My 16 yr old daughter has been asking for a surf lesson for a couple years. I wa so psyched to see how thorough and cool the instructor was with her. She stood up on the very first try and is now asking for a board for Christmas. Thank you Rhody Surf! We will be back! read more

My 15 year old daughter decided she wanted to try surfing. So I booked the lesson online. The process was simple. The day of the lesson we were both a little nervous about how it would turn out since neither of us had ever tried surfing. Our instructor Ryan was excellent. The equipment was great. Beautiful day. Really an amazing experience. We both were able to get up and surf. Loved it. Hope to do it again. read more

SO STOKED! This past weekend a we took a group of 13 students to Rhody Surf for a large group lesson. The trip was fantastic. All of our students had a great time. The staff was extremely positive and helpful. Each student got individual attention at some point and the staff was very mindful of paying a little extra attention to those who needed it. Prior to the trip Bobby made sure that he would have enough staff to have a great staff-student ratio. He was cognizant of the weather and flexible to make sure that when we got in the water there would be some waves for us to catch. The trip went off without a hitch and it was due to the attention and dedication of the Rhody Surf staff. so psyched to go back! read more

With a store located in a spot right after you come in to Cape Cod on the Bourne Bridge and a beach location on Old Silver Beach in North Falmouth next to the Sea Crest Beach Hotel, this water sports company offers a wide array of activities to enjoy during your vacation. My friend and I spotted a little hut and a beach full of equipment during our visit to Old Silver Beach, and decided to check it out. Several workers greeted us and gave us a price list. Offered are jet ski rentals; windsurfing rentals and lessons; stand up paddle board rentals and lessons; kayak rentals; and paddle boat rentals. Most activities are done per hour, while some like windsurfing and kayaking can be done for a half day or a full day. After going through the prices--which are on the higher end, but to be expected in a vacation area--my friend and I decided to rent a jet ski. We signed waivers and were given fitted life jackets before we jumped on our jet ski, which two of the workers nicely brought up to the beach for us from the slightly deeper water. After they gave us instructions on how to accelerate and about where we were permitted to go, my friend and I slowly worked our way to the open waters. We zoomed around the waters surrounding Old Silver Beach, feeling the salt water in our faces and enjoying the gorgeous scenes around us. It was like nothing else!! It is simply a unique and incredible experience seeing the Cape from that angle. The only issue we had was not knowing how long we had left in our time slot; there was no clock or time on the jet ski and it took us several times to slow down to try and read the dial only to find there was time measure. We successfully gaged our time, so this was not a big problem. We had an absolutely fantastic experience, between the friendly staff of CC Windsurfing/OSB Water Sports and the surroundings we were able to see with our jet ski rental. The equipment is top of the line and easy to use, and the staff is friendly and explains everything well. Though the prices are typical of a vacation area, the experience you have and the memories made are well worth it!! We had, without a doubt, one of the best and most amazing times we have ever had at the Cape!!

Growing up in RI, I had always wanted to learn to surf. However, the learning process was not, at first, a fun one. I chose Rhody Surf because I really wanted the personal one on one instruction to further my surfing abilities. I had taken two frustrating surf lessons last summer with other surf shops in Newport, where I was 1 of 20 students with two instructors for the entire group! I was basically given a surfboard and left to fend for myself in the breakers. I left these lessons discouraged and lost my motivation to learn how to surf until I heard about Rhody Surf's Surf School. I booked a hour, private lesson on rhodysurf.com and received a call almost immediately by the owner 'Bobby' who was extremely helpful explaining the benefits of a private lesson and having a dedicated surf instructor. He was right! Not only did the owner of the surf school give me the personal lesson but I found my stoke again! The lesson was 1 hour but they let me surf and helped me for over 2 hours at no additional charge! I still want to progress and am planning another lesson with Rhody Surf but my first experience with this online-based surf school can be summed up in two words: fun and professional! Grew up in RI, figured it was time to learn how to surf. Rhody Surf is the best lesson you can get for your money. Bobby was fun, helpful, and motivating, a great combo for an instructor. The lesson was extremely helpful and Bobby cares about how you will come to develop as a surfer as you practice more and more beyond the lesson than just to give the lesson collect his money and be on his way. Overall great experience and would recommend it to anyone looking to surf. read more
