Absolutely love this place! Authentic Greek! Service is impeccable, the food great and cooked to perfection. Wine selection not bad. We had the bubbly first very nice paired with calamari, then a bottle of Greek red, Driopi Reserve 2015, also very nice. Grilled meats greasy and cooked to perfection. Happy to have found excellent Greek food in a lovely open-air public space, Blauwpoort. We ate at a table on a terrace above the wide canal, watching boats float by to one side, and bicycles ok the other. The dip sampler was a tasty start. First off, if you have time, get to Leiden if you have an extra day. This is a smaller version of Amsterdam without the crowds- a beautiful little city that is clean, beautiful, and above all friendly- (plus it gives you an opportunity to get used to the bikes) Rhodos is the extra bonus. What a GREAT place. Everyone was so nice and the food was exceptional. We were seated outside by the water, and our server (forgot her name) was awesome. Giving us not only tips on what to order, but places to visit in both Leiden and Amsterdam. Very warm and friendly, as was the owner who came and checked on us twice during our dinner. The food was great- normal Greek fare, but prepared fresh and beautiful presentation. All in all a great experience, and would highly recommend to all my American travelers that read this. read more

I would say it is a really nice greek restaurant. Good taste, good service and modern decorations. I have seen the owner has paid much attention on details instead of just making money. Every dish is well prepared, no matter veal or lamb, salad or amusement, with fresh material and wonderful taste. I personally believe that its taste combines Italian tomatoes favor and Greek style. They slides the greek cheese and the taste better melted into salad than small cubes of cheese (other Greek restaurant usually use cube cheese). The free bacalava ice cream the restaurant offer has very special delicious taste. Illy coffee bean is used and thus the taste is granted. By the coffee, a soft nougat is offered, not a piece of biscuit as normal restaurants do. The waiter are attentive, three waiters are assigned, don't have to wait long to call.The price is also acceptable, we are surprised to found such a restaurant in Leiden! Two points i think could improve: the wine sold by glass, both red and white could have stronger flavor, what i think is too light. And the mussels could be less time cooked. read more

In Leiden for business, and I had a night to myself to get dinner. Went to this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews (go Yelp in Europe!) and was not disappointed. Excellent Greek food! I had the kleftiko lamb as my entree along with a glass of Syrah. Wine was nice and affordable for a glass (ranged from 4 to 6 euros), and the lamb leg was absolutely delicious! Loved the halloumi (grilled Greek goat cheese) as it added some saltiness and contrast to the tender lamb. The grilled veggies in olive oil and the side salad were perfect complements, and I almost started to lick the plate. Had to try the baklava, and I wasn't disappointed - light and crispy, this tasted just like it was made in Athens. Delicious meal with pleasant service. They brought a shot of ouzo with the bill, as well as some mints. Came to 34.50 euro total - a cheap price to pay for such delicious food! read more

Simply the best Greek food we've ever eaten, and we've visited Greece. The wait staff is attentive and pleasant. The food is marvelous. We had ridden our bikes from Haarlem so we were really hungry. We were 3 people and took the "tapas" menu which costed around 30 euros. The food was very tasty, we've got a mix of starters and main courses which we shared and it was enough. My wife and I had a delicious meal and a delightful time at this warm and friendly restaurant. The stuffed calamari was perfect: vegetable ragout with a light touch of feta balanced the seared and then roasted (?) calamari just right. The lamb shank with roasted potatoes and vegetables was sublime, also. Complimentary shots of ouzo sent us out into the lively Leiden streets with satisfied smiles. read more
