AVOID this place and its extremely rude, unprofessional, and uncaring staff. My husband had been…read morewaiting for three months to get in to see this guy and they canceled his appointment because the referral wasn't correct. They made me call to get the referral corrected, giving me a bunch of technical medical jargon to tell the referral department. This is something they should have done and they knew it but were just too lazy to be bothered it seems. Regardless I get it done and even though they promised to let him have his original appointment if I got it done that day (I got it done in less than an hour) they rescheduled him for yet another month out. So now we are at four months just to see this doctor for a meet and greet all the while his condition is getting worse by the day. So we waited, my niece took the day off from work to take him and we find out that they called him on Friday to confirm (his appointment for Monday) and because we didn't return the call that same day they just up and canceled his appointment. Calling as soon as they open on Monday wasn't good enough! SMH!!! Who does that? They are the ONLY doctor who does that and it is obviously for greed reasons. Whatever, I ask to reschedule and she says she can call me if something becomes available tomorrow (we have to arrange transportation, etc. we can't just up and go) so I say no can we just have an appointment scheduled out further? I also add that they shouldn't book new clients on Fridays if they are going to just cancel seeing as they are closed for call backs on Sat/Sun. She clapped back, "Oh you could leave a message" so they check them on their day off? Who knew? Then she rudely suggested (because how dare me be upset) that we could call our referring doctor and get a different neurologist. I said, yeah I think we will because you all are a bunch of -----bleeps! and hung up the phone. AnywhOo, that is exactly what we will be doing along with a complaint to his insurance company. These people only care about one thing and it isn't patients. What is really sad is that they deal with people who have brain issues with zero compassion. They have clients who may not always be able to call back within their given time frame NOT TO MENTION how much time and preparation goes into getting to one of these appointments! If I had not called Monday morning as soon as they opened we could have ended up going and being turned away! Not okay----- again, my niece took the day off from work, my husband can hardly walk, someone has to dress him, etc to get there SMH it is a ton of work! There is NO CARE for that or that my husband actually needs to see the doctor instead of playing games with an incompetent and uncaring front office staff. Avoid these jokers if you can.

At 58, I needed a walker almost full time. Following his exam and testing Dr. Etebar said the only way I'd get relief was spinal fusion -- he'd have to open my back at the lower spine, make space between L5 & S1, insert a cage with donor bone, stabilize all with rods, and sew it up. I'd need 4 or 5 days in the hospital, a few months in a brace, and a longer period of no bending, lifting or twisting. I was scared but had Iittle choice. Dr. Etebar exuded confidence, his staff was professional and competent. The morning of surgery he was reassuring. The procedure took 4 or 5 hours. Later that day he insisted I get out of bed to begin his prescribed walking program, which I did. That was over 3 months ago. I've been pain-free since surgery and am returning to my old routines; the walker is only a distant memory. I highly recommend Dr. Etebar!

If I could give this doctor a -10, I would. This is by far one of the most unprofessional and…read moredisorganized medical offices I've ever dealt with. As a new patient, I waited six months just to get an appointment--which should have been my first warning. The La Quinta office told me I had to complete intake forms before they could schedule me. I did everything they asked, and they said they would call me back. They never did. No follow-up, no accountability. I then tried the Palm Desert office. Things seemed fine at first, but that quickly changed. They canceled my appointment with the doctor and pushed me to see a PA instead. I reluctantly agreed. On the day of the appointment, I had to call them myself because I never received any confirmation--no email, no text, nothing. When I called, the receptionist asked if I could come in earlier at 2:45. I told her I couldn't and specifically asked if 3:30 would still work or if I needed to reschedule. She clearly confirmed that 3:30 was fine. I showed up early at 3:15, only to be told the PA had already left. Instead of taking responsibility, they falsely claimed they had called me and that I said I would arrive at 3:00--which is completely untrue. At that point, it was clear they were more interested in covering their mistake than helping a patient. To make matters worse, I tried to resolve this with the office manager. She put me on hold for over 30 minutes because she was "on the phone with the pharmacy." Since when is the office manager handling pharmacy calls? I thought that was the responsibility of the nursing staff. It felt like yet another excuse and a complete waste of my time. This office is not just disorganized--it's dishonest. They waste your time, fail to communicate, and then blame you for their own failures. If this is how the practice is run, it reflects very poorly on the doctor. Patients deserve far better than this level of incompetence, lack of accountability, and disregard for their time.
