It's all about money with her. She said I had cancer without even testing it. I went to another doctor who said, "no one can say cancer without a test." He tested and it was NOT cancer. Horrible experience! Waited 45 minutes and Dr. Roberts did not explain the treatment plan at all no directions, no explanation of side effects at all even when asked point blank basic questions about what I'm going to be given. Shifted the conversation to consent forms. And waited another thirty minutes to sign one iPad consent form to be given a sample pack of medications again with no directions FROM ANYBODY much less the doctor. I recently met with Dr. Roberts for the first time to go over a chronic five year undiagnosed problem involving an acute skin irritation. I had consulted specialists over the years, including multiple Dermatologists, allergists, primary care doctor, rheumatologists and a neurologist and a had a biopsy, all came up with NOTHING. They all recommended I see another specialist, I was left with a "rash-less itch" effecting my scalp, ears and chest. Dr. Roberts suggested I go on an elimination diet because she suspected it could be a food allergy. I actually doubted this diagnosis but I was desperate so I went on the elimination diet which isn't fun, I noticed no improvement for a week and a half andI had little confidence that it would work. Then suddenly the itching ceased!!! Basically a 90% improvement!!I It's been a month now. I have added back things on the elimination diet and I am now convinced it is a reaction to something that I am eating. In my first euphoria of not having the itch. I estimated it was 90% better. I would now more accurately, describe it as varying day-to-day depending on what I've eaten from 80 to 90% better which is still an incredible improvement on my life because it also had a positive affect on my sleep, aches and pains of arthritis and seasonal allergies. All have gotten noticeably better. In hindsight, it seems like a simple solution, but apparently it wasn't that simple because all the other specialists for five years simply recommended seeing another specialist. First of all, online, it said the consultation was free, but once. I had my procedure done on my scalp,that $500 was added to the fee of the procedure. I had a reaction to the procedure that was done to me. My eyes were swollen shut. I call doctor Roberts and she told me that she will not see me, beause I didn't have an appointment Under dire stress, I showed up anyhow and she did see me. She gave me a steroid shot and antibiotics if the reaction was a normal reaction. I don't think she would have proceeded in that fashion. It was a horrible experience and a caution. I realize this is a lenghty review but worth the read.. The situation with Roberts, after posting a comment on the local NEXTDOOR site, is that I'm not the only one who has had a similar experience. After several attempts, I have not received my entire records and the ones sent to the Medical Board were not accurate or complete. The only copy of the supposed estimate was sent to me by my credit card company which interestingly enough, was not sent to the Medical Board or given to me. I could not do the procedure because of medical issues. I was refused a refund, stating that the ESTIMATE was a binding contract. I also could not transfer the amount to someone else. What difference would that make and why was that specifically stated in fine print??? I trusted the doctor and her assistant Yolanda to tell me what I was signing since I did not have my reading glasses with me. I was told I needed to pay the full amount at that time, so that I wouldn't have to deal with it when my procedure was completed. However the fine print stated I could have put down a 10% deposit which would have been $400 instead of the $4000. The doctor's reply to my review was that I was a disgruntled patience. I think that was very obvious. Instead of being a true professional and replying in a professional manner I was threatened with legal action. " I would be dealt with" Their reply shocked me. Instead of trying to resolve the issue privately, this negative review was generated as a result. I would hope my detailed comments will alert someone else to what could happen to them. We have been a patient of Dr. Robert's at her Rancho Mirage office off and on since 2004 while residing part-time in Palm Springs and Los Angeles. We originally saw Dr. Robert's for an odd rash on the stomach that turned out to be caused by one of our small dogs. It was diagnosed correctly from the start and resolved perfectly. We have since been seeing Dr. Robert's again for the last 2 years for reoccurring pre-cancerous skin growths, primarily on the forehead. Long story short--- we also are part of the Cedars Sinai Medical Group (and hospital) in Beverly Hills for 20 + years and are used to the BEST doctors and surgeons in Southern California. We do our research and with our great health insurance and location, we seek and demand the BEST! With that said, our Cedars Sinai dermatologist had us coming in every 3 months to burn off the pre-cancerous cells with liquid nitrogen which was time consuming, repetitive and hurt. We would always ask the doctor about a special cream another family member had used (on her entire face) many years earlier and we wanted to try it. The Cedars dermatologist didn't really listen and just said to keep coming back every 3 months for the liquid nitrogen treatments. Fast forward a few months later, we were back in Palm Springs and made a visit with Dr. Robert's for the same condition on the forehead. Without us asking or mentioning the specialized treatment cream, she recommended it which is called Aldera (imiquimod) and is used to attack abnormal skin cells etc. It's a 30 day treatment and the skin looks dry, crusty, inflamed and scabby at the end, but WOW afterwards the forehead skin was so smooth, soft and clear! We are completely blown away with the results and wish our other LA dermatologist had recommended this years ago. We are always pleased that when we go to Dr. Robert's office, we are attended by her (for medical conditions) and not by a Physicians assistant or Nurse Practitioner as is the case more and more now both in Los Angeles and the Palm Springs/Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage areas. So in reading on some of the Dermatologist, the pros and cons, I decided on Dr. Roberts. 1st appt. was greeted promptly, realized I had forgotten my Medicare card. More involved with promoting herself than tending to patients issues.Takes fees upfront with no explanation of the procedure or asking for a Consent Form and DOES NOT give refunds. I too, waited over 40 minutes for my noon annual body scan appointment. I was the only one in the office at the time. At 12:15 , a young lady walked in the door and signed in, who clearly was there for more fillers based on her current look. ( my opinion only). She was escorted in at 12:33 as I sat there unattended to. I got up immediately and went to the front desk and said I was leaving and that my time was equally valuable. The girl behind the desk said that the other appointment was for something different than why I was there. this is what this doctor did to my face. ive seen other bad reviews. I went there because the front desk lady said she was the best in the buisness and that the horrible reveiws were fake. Now i'm scarred for life. my profile picture is what she did to me after she told me not to worry about any darkening. the area on the side of my face wasnt even there before. now people stare at me. i trusted this doctor then she took 1400.oo from a disabled veteran out of work just trying to get rid of a little scar under my eye. she knew my situation took advantage of me and then at the end when i asked her why my face was worse she said she didnt see anything like i making it up. be careful of her and this practice I'm not trying to ruing anyones reputation just tell my story because i dont want this to happen to anyone else. i gave her two stars just to show that i'm not trying to cause a stir but id give her 0 stars if i could because she lied to me and then ruined my face after promising me she would help me. read more
