Same meat in both the Burrito and the Enchilada!!
John J.

Mediocre Americanized Mexican food at best!! Barely sat down and waiter was already asking if I was ready to order. Hadn't even looked through the whole menu and he'd come around 3 other times. Ordered a #12 Special of one Burrito, one Tamale, and one Enchilada. The Burrito and the Enchilada had the exact same tasteless ground meat substitute only one had a corn tortilla and the other a flour tortilla. Also it looks more like TVP (Texturized Vegetable Protein)also known as soybean and it had no taste! The tamale was obviously store bought and more typical of a Miss. delta region "Hot Tamale" than an authentic Mexican Tamale. It was all covers in a red sauce that looked exactly like the salsa served with the chips. Food did come out VERY fast and after it came out the waiter never came around again until I was practically done with my meal. For those of you who said this is good Mexican food and/or gave this place more than one star, have a REALLY low bar set for good Mexican food. Almost wish I'd gone to Taco Bell!!!! And I happen to know what is good Mexican food being of Mexican decent myself and having traveled and worked in Mexico.

Just an average to above average Mexican restaurant. The steak is pretty good. I believe it is owned by the same owners as el sombrero, so understandably, the quality and service is near identical. The salsa special is definitely the go-to lunch menu option. I would return. Please assist me in "Bringing the internet" to this town by adding your own review as well as pictures of the menu. Thanks!

It's our usual haunt for take out food. The cheese dip is amazing, fajitas and chimis as well... best spot to stop on 61 north, by far.

Yum-o!

Always good Mexican food and service. Nice people as well. We get DoorDash from them often and it's always correct.

Great chips & salsa. Very good Tex Mex style food. Incredible generous servings and low prices. I would come again.

We were immediately seated in what seemed like the 'back 40!' It was extra quiet back there, tho and we both actually appreciated that. We were dealing with the aftermath of a funeral at home and needed a little escape! Our waiter, Angel, was extremely patient with us! Like two teenagers that hadn't seen each other in months.... We just kept getting side tracked talking about everything else other than the menu. Once we finally decided on and placed our order, it was made lightening fast and was in front of us in two-three minutes. Aside from burning my mouth via jalapeño peppers (in my pico de gallo) everything was delicious. She had to take home 1/2 of her super burrito, but I was able to finish both of my tacos! The restaurant & bathrooms were both exceptionally clean!

Food was good but it was close to closing as it was 9:40 and ordered another beer and the bartender asked if we were gonna be able to finish our beers as they were gonna close. I asked him if everyone else was gonna be asked to leave as well. I told him don't disrespect us and I guess the owner overheard our conversation bc he was sitting with another customer that had more beer in his mug and he can and talked to me and we had words and I asked him if he was going to ask his friend to finish his beer before 10 and also ask a table of 8 if he was going to ask them to leave? We finished our beer quickly and got out of there and as I was leaving I told him there we're leaving! Won't ever be going back to that place nor do I recommend it!

I felt compelled to share my thoughts after reading some of the reviews about Taco Casa. It seems…read morethat a few Taco Bell trolls are trying to undermine the reputation of a local treasure. In my opinion, Taco Casa stands out as the best fast food Mexican restaurant. Period. Taco Casa's bean burritos, queso, and "Sanchiladas" are among my favorites. They cook their refried beans from scratch daily and use real ground beef, along with ingredients like Velveeta and Rotel. If you're someone who prefers canned or pre-packaged nacho cheese and meat, then maybe Taco Bell is the right choice for you. You won't find that at Taco Casa. While it may not be authentic Mexican cuisine, Taco Casa is a great fast food restaurant with a well established reputation they have earned as a local favorite through the years!

Dangerous Foreign Object Found in Food - Major Safety Concern…read more The Incident: Visited on December 21, 2024. Received the wrong order initially, which should have been my first warning sign. I drove home, and the order was missing three tacos. The person at the front told me everything was in the bag. So, the manager was friendly enough to give me a complimentary tea, but when I got home, I might have needed a free tooth. When I got what was supposedly my correct order and started eating, I bit down on a hard foreign object in the food. What Happened: The object was dark, complex, and definitely did not belong in food I have clear photos and kept the object as evidence. Fortunately, I didn't bite down with full force, or I would likely have dental injuries. This could have been a choking hazard or caused broken teeth. The Bottom Line: This isn't just "bad customer service" - this is a potential health hazard. Foreign objects in food can cause broken teeth, cuts and lacerations, choking, and internal injuries. Quality control failures this serious are unacceptable. I'm sharing this review so others can make informed decisions about eating here.

There are not a lot of Yelpers in Vicksburg but Rusty's had some great reviews so we decide to try it. Nice location near the river and plenty of street parking. We were seated quickly after our full party arrived. There is nothing fancy about this place but clean and simple. When you walk in you see the desserts in the cooler in the front and they all look delicious and homemade. We saw some dinner rolls being brought to the table but we were not offered any so we asked and they are free. So make sure to ask. They are yummy little yeast rolls with some sweet (maybe honey) butter. I tried a Bahama mama that was tasty and we liked the fried calamari (7/10). This place is a mostly seafood restaurant with a few good options if you don't or can't eat seafood. We had two in our party that does not eat seafood and they enjoyed the blacked chicken. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty. The start of the dinner was the Redfish with the craw fish cream sauce. DE-licious!! I enjoyed the seafood pasta. It's a lemon butter sauce not creamy but I liked it! It came with a side so I tried a cup of gumbo for $3 up-charge. It was worth it. Very good gumbo with sausage, shrimp, scallops, and an oyster! Looking forward to going back!

So we booked a spot at a local hotel and they recommended Rusty's because 'it's by the river.' Although it is near the river, you cannot SEE the river. So...whatever. They were super friendly, very welcoming. The place is, essentially, a pub or sportsbar feel. We were hungry, but not starving and wanted to order light, but were excited by the new (to us) items on the menu...we're from the Pacific Northwest so the type of seafood they have here at Rusty's is not the usual. We got the fried green tomato appetizer, then the wedge salad and shrimp and grits. So- one app, a salad and one entree. The portions were HUGE. Like, way too much for us. We loved the sweet tea. The green tomatoes were great. Lump crab and hollandaise...tasty, if maybe a little over-sauced. The wedge salad was drowning in dressing. It tasted great, but way too much. Shrimp and grits: delicious, but we ended up taking most of it to-go because we were so full from everything else. The shrimp and grits also came with onion rings- which went straight into the doggie bag. Just so much food. I appreciate that they're trying to make sure that we're well fed, I really do...but damn. I want to taste everything...please, smaller portions! Or maybe a tasting menu? We wanted dessert badly but had no room for it at all.
