My daughter went to softball camp in Tacoma, WA. There was nowhere on the paperwork saying she could possibly room all alone in the dorm. Camp is about meeting other children in the dorms, not staying by yourself. The room they put her in was a single, and she was broken hearted. They did not ask her ahead of time if she was okay being alone, nor did we ever think it was a possibility. The previous year she went they all had roommates. The staff had no way of fixing this without calling all of the girls together and explaining the situation to see if any of the other girls would be willing to switch. Clearly that was just going to make her feel even more embarrassed. They messed up by not clearly making it known that my child could possibly be roomed ALONE and couldn't fix it without making it way worse. I brought her home immediately as she was clearly beside herself upset and was going to be miserable. They are now refusing to refund us and want to give a credit towards another camp. They are also refusing to show me where it stated she might room alone, because it does not exist. I'm not willing to make her go through all that again. Give me a break. You need to fix your error and not by forcing her to relive the horribly situation again. read more
