Can't say enough about how pleased I've been in my work so far with Revolution Ink and Jeff Hubbard specifically. Jeff did my first tattoo for me a couple years ago, an adaptation of some 125-year-old art for my shoulder. Turned out absolutely beautiful, in spite of a couple rookie decisions on my part that certain things look a certain way. Last night he started in on a leg sleeve for me - I didn't bring anything for reference but a general idea about the theme, and he's running from there. Little different process, and better. Trust your artist - they do this for a living. The leg looks amazing already just in partial linework, but there are hours and hours left- if experience tells me anything it's just going to improve as we go. Jeff's an extremely talented artist and a super nice guy, and the rest of the folks in his shop are doing great work as well, from what I have seen. I'm looking forward to more work. This place is absolutely amazing. When you walk in, the atmosphere is so comforting and cozy. I was not expecting it to be so intimate. Each artist has their own room, so you have privacy. The staff is extremely friendly as well. My artist was Megan Carroll (@megancarrolltattoo) and her personality is so awesome! I have never had a bad experience, in all the tattoos I have had there. They've always been walk ins, but super nice, talkative, chill. But I made an appointment for a big piece recently and it was the worst time of my life. Her hand was SO heavy. I have never flinched in any of my sessions and I was shaking profusely during this session. It was 5 hours, and by the middle of hour 2, I couldn't stop shaking. I apologized because I thought it was me, but it's been 3 weeks and it's not even remotely started to heal because of how deep it is. My skin is raised up and scared now, and I have canceled all of my appointments with her. The next day she posts her new work on social media and in her caption puts (and sitting like a rock) like that wasn't a jab at me. Pretty unprofessional. read more

The only reason I am not giving one star, is because the art work looked good. Other than that, i am not pleased. I called to make an appointment for a small finger tattoo, they said it was too small and that i had to come as a walk-in. I went in within 30 minutes, out my name on the list, and waited for 2 1/2 hours to get a 3 minute tattoo. This also happened when I got art on my ankle, I waited for three hours that time. Although some of the artists are nice, most are rude and don't talk to you or try to make you feel comfortable. Again, only giving it two stars because the work looked decent. read more

Genuinely the worst experience I've had to endure. Came for a simple nostril piercing. Chaz (I'm assuming his name was this) was so off putting. He repeatedly said my name wrong and called me a stereotypicalBlack name even though my name is literally a basic two name Southern girl name. I don't want to call anyone racist but he literally gave his coworker a look when me and my friend (both of us are Black) walked in. For some reason, I was pierced with a large gauge and a bone stud. Three months later the piercing is closing up on the inside despite my religious cleaning, and when I called to get an appointment he sighed on the phone. I don't really know what prompted this absolutely horrible behavior given me and my friends respectful and quiet demeanors and the fact that both of us tipped 25%. read more

Best tattoo/piercing shop I've ever been to. Surprisingly not a shit-hole like other places, they're VERY nice and customer friendly. Chaz was quick to get a hold of in the shop and super costumer service oriented. He was very professional when doing my piercings and he's personality is just great in general. Prices here are great and fair. Lower than lots of places yet the work they do here is great. Each room was cleanly and the shop has a great vibe to it. Not intimidating or "scary". Would 10/10 recommend and i will be getting all my piercings from not on with Chaz. read more

This place is *amazing.* I've gone multiple times with friends, and they're extremely professional and customer friendly. Almost every time I've gone, it's been a walk-in and they have fit us in smoothly and quickly. I got my piercings done by Chaz and he was easily the nicest person I have gotten pierced by. 10/10 would recommend for any piercing you want--he does everything he can to relax you and makes it a good experience. The pricing for tattoos and piercings are very fair, and I'm definitely getting anything else I need done at Revolution Ink. The atmosphere is is very calming and the artwork is crazy good. Side note--especially if you are a super anxious or nervous person like me, this is the place to go, these artists are actually so friendly and so nice. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Where do I start? These are not tattoos, these are pieces of art. Good god these folks are talented. I was searching for the right artist to do my piece while I was in town from Minnesota after my wedding and after talking with Jeff via e-mail a bit he recommended Kayleigh. I checked out her work and although she hasn't been doing tattoos that long the caliber of her work is incredible!! She does it like she was born to do it; do not hesitate to book her. Her floral work is impeccable and I can see why Jeff recommended her for my floral tattoo. The shop itself (although they are moving soon) was charming and the decor and art were amazing; I wouldn't mind buying a few pieces of the art that hung on the walls. Kayleigh was very patient with me while choosing my fonts and resizing a half a dozen times. Once we got started I was there for around 1.5 hours and boom I was done - - she did so good. The shading and coloring is gorgeous! I am so in love. I think it's my favorite of all my tattoos thus far. I already want to travel 1300 miles to come back for more. My husband is not "a tattoo guy" but was gushing over how amazing the work is - - he is even thinking about getting one! I NEVER thought I would hear that come out of his mouth, lol. That alone tells you how good they are. If you are at all hesitant about pricing just do yourself a favor and flip through their portfolios - you are paying for revolutionary quality. I literally just overheard a conversation between two employees about how all y'all's Yelp reviews that are displayed on their main page suck ass, but there are legit good ones that never get read. I just had to post a 5 star review after hearing that, cause this place is great. Very professional and clean and modern. It was where I got my first ever tattoo, and now I'm working on my sleeves and have never gone anywhere else and don't plan to. They were so great with dealing with my insecurities and fears as a first timer, and now that I have several, I can see they're also very artistic, original, creative, and very detail oriented. They were very safe to deal with during COVID, and prices were very reasonable as well (as a first timer, I shopped around). Anyways, I just had to leave a positive review after hearing a couple employees bitching about tools that come on here and complain about bs things. It's a great tattoo place. Period. First off, I have 25-30 tattoos, by probably 15 different artists, so I know what I'm talking about. Jeff and Brandon are the best of the best, they've done my last five. They only do custom work and are amaIng artist. Walk in to them with an idea, walk out with a tattoo that's far more amazing than anything you had in your head. Great guys too. I think I've gotten tattoos at two other places in Birmingham and 3 or 4 different places in Alabama. This is the only place I recommend to my friends. read more

I got a nose piercing here and, while the place was very modern and clean, the guy who pierced my nose was terrible. Not only was he rude, but he was also slow and even walked away while there was still a needle sticking out of my nose. The video we took is too painful to watch. My girlfriend and I went in because she wanted to feel comfortable with a good female artist for an underbust tattoo, and when she saw the place they had closed rooms and she thought they would respect privacy. Her tattoo came out good and she was happy but the lady she was tattooed by didn't care about how uncomfortable she was at all. The artist allowed 3 different people into the room after we both tried to keep them out because she was completely exposed on her upper half other than two gloves she used to cover up. That was extremely unacceptable and we only went back because she paid for a few different small pieces that day and her chest piece made her so uncomfortable we had to leave because the artist kept allowing men to look, and then when we get there a few minutes early for the second appointment the artist took on another tattoo right at our scheduled time to be here, so we had to wait hours for an appointment made 5 days ago. She went to a female in a closed room for a reason; privacy. We have someone that has done a few other pieces for her but she wanted the work done by a female and she robbed her of that comfort. She went back strictly because she already paid and didn't figure they would pay her back, as most places don't do refunds, especially after they treated us so poorly. If you care at all about not having random people see you exposed and staring at you without you being asked or even taken into account, and being referred to as a specimen for her to show off, then I wouldn't recommend this place at all. They might do good work, but don't care about customer comfort to any degree. It was unacceptable and unprofessional and I will never recommend to anyone. read more
