I've been to Skin Worx three times now and always had good experiences. My husband got a tattoo there that turned out amazing, I went and had a consult about a piercing, and Becca was able to help me a ton, and I took another friend there to get a piercing and the gentleman whose name I cannot remember (he said he was a new piercer) also changed out jewelry on one of my piercings for me. All in all, a great place! They only take cash though. They have an ATM on site but if you don't want to use theirs, you should come prepared with cash! Go check them out! read more

When I first left, the tattoo looked great, as it healed, it became thinner and looked worse. I went back to the same girl because they said touchups were free if you see the same artist and she made it look worse with spots of ink missing. Went to classic 13 and got it fixed they all were very surprised that a local artist let me leave with a tattoo that bad. They also said the lettering was too small but classic 13 had no problem doing the lettering and it now looks amazing. I would highly discourage going here. read more

The best tattoo shop! My husband and I went in with an idea of what we wanted and wanted to use our wedding flowers as inspiration. We spoke with Demi and told her what we were wanting, showed her pictures of my wedding flowers, with no idea where we wanted our tattoos to go. Demi went above and beyond! There's no better tattoo shop than Skinworx, in my opinion! The shop is super clean. The staff is friendly, patient and knowledgeable! The artists are the best of the best! I trust that Greg vets each artist to insure of that fact! Todd Boling has done my last three tattoos, and he's going to do a cover up on my foot. He's got a light hand and that matters to me because I'm not a fan of pain! I'd said that I wouldn't do the much needed cover up without an Epidural but because Todd has such a light hand, imma do it!! Another plus in Todd's favor is that one of the tattoos he did for me is in Hebrew. I'd done all of my research to make sure that it was correct BUT Todd wanted to do his own research just to double check as well. He wanted to make sure that I had the correct spelling and such! That's huge!! I didn't take offense at all! It blessed me!! Oh and My daughter wants her nose pierced but I'm waiting on Greg to choose a piercer because I know he'll vet them the same way he does his tattoo artists. I went today for my 2nd appointment and was told that I would have to reschedule because I had used numbing cream on my arm. They tried to say it was against the health department regulations. I called their BS on it and then they changed their mind to it would make the ink not take right and that none of the artists there would tattoo someone that had used it, and then had the nerve to ask if I had asked first. I'm not a child, it's my arm, my tattoo, and my money...I have used this before a few times and had it used on me by tattoo artists in AL. This is very bad service and then they refused to give me my deposit back because I didn't wanna reschedule. I'll never be back in there and will tell all my friends and coworkers not to go either. Very poor business!!!! read more

Great service. The men were impeccable and the shop was clean and the bathroom was spotless. The only reason for the 3 stars is that they are extremely over charging. I paid way tooooo money for 4 words that aren't bigger than a standard sticky note. I went ahead with it bcus I needed the tattoo right then. I know you pay for what you get but there is no need for price gouging for a simple tattoo. The intense work that require hours of focus and detail then yes you definitely have to and must pay for quality work. Can't say I'd return but it's simply based on the cost and not the service I received. read more

I got a cover-up tattoo by Daniel and I am 100% satisfied. I got a beautiful daisy dream catcher tattoo that is absolutely beautiful! The shop was very clean, a bit cold. Tyler the receptionist was very professional and never made me feel like I was a bother as many times as I called. All of the men in the shop were nice. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it took a while to get started. But other than that I highly recommend the shop and I would definitely go back and have Daniel do more work. I can't believe Yelp only shows the negative reviews. What's up with that?? This place is great! It's clean (big big thing for those of us that want to get a tat and stay healthy!), the staff is super nice, and the work is superb. They only take cash so be prepared on that front. I can really only comment on Greg's work since he is the only person I have had work on me- but, I have talked to most of the other staff and they were all very friendly. Anyways, I submitted my idea and request over their website and after a couple of emails back and forth I scheduled a time to go in to talk about what I wanted. I took my idea to him, with some sample pics of the style I liked, and he went to work. A couple of days later, he called and had a sample for me to look at. He captured my idea wonderfully and also tailored it so it would look good where I had the work done. Fast forward a year later and I have had about 9 hours done on my arm and I just took him a new idea for my next tattoo. I think repeat business says a lot about a place. read more

Used to be a great shop but now the staff is rude & not up to par. I went in with a quote design & was told by the first artist I saw that it would not look good where/how I wanted it & when I asked his opinion of placement he said it wouldn't look good anywhere. The 2nd artist that actually did the work looked good with a pencil & paper drawing but could not blend the ink in the tattoo, it looks like a child did it, - there are harsh scribble looking lines instead of being shaded down from darker to lighter. I am now in the process of trying to have removed - don't waste your time or money here. read more

My mom and I have wanted to get matching tattoos for a while now. We called revolution ink before deciding to go here. We called and they told us to email them sample photos. I emailed them when we left and we went in the next night like they told us. They had no idea about the email and no one really acted like they cared. So we left there and went to skinworx. They told us that they could get us in the next morning (even a little earlier than open since I had work). I emailed the sample photos and Brian got to work on them immediately. We came the next morning and he had them drawn out and let us make any changes needed. He was super friendly, professional, and he was an amazing artist. read more

If you plan to have Todd do your tattoo.....DON'T. Not only is this shop way way way too expensive but the art work is that of a very sleepy 2nd grader at best. This shop should definitely close. Todd is a grade A scammer. I showed him the image I wanted, I was told to give him a week to draw it up and schedule an appointment to return to get the tattoo. After 3 hours the tattoo looked like my 5 year old drew it! Then he had the nerve to request I return in 3 weeks to "finish it", like guy you never started it. Tough to give a review. I am a newbie, new to this world, but am looking for my first tattoo. This whole world is new to me, to be honest a bit apprehensive on the whole experience. I've been looking at all Bham artists and thought there was quality here. I decided to go. I went in and the shop manager, I assume, behind the counter looked up and said hey then went back to his iPad. I was like, ok just look around, he was glued to his iPad. I looked at the artwork on the wall for a while. The shop manager stood up, I thought to come over, but he just went to another chair glued to his iPad. I continued to look, then after a while decided to leave and continue my search for a shop. The reason I write this is so the shop can learn from it. Not everyone is a hardcore tattoo goer, it is more mainstream now and there are folks like me who are a bit apprehensive in taking their first step, and they need to be aware.
