Visiting and being serviced by Recycles feels like you are stepping back in time, and I mean that…read morein the most wonderful way! This place is a gem!! You just don't find service and care like this anymore. Several years ago I bought a 70's three-speed bike online. Three speed bikes have a special place in my heart because that was the first kind of bicycle that my grandfather bought for me back in the '60s. Right before the pandemic one of the pedals fell off and for 3 years it has been sitting in my shed. I decided a few weeks ago to bring it to a bicycle shop to get it replaced, and I am so glad that I did! Recycles is located on Spring Garden Street right by Mendenhall which is where I lived when I went to UNCG. Lots of nostalgia visiting that shop and parking in the neighborhood. I loved it! I lived in a bottom floor studio by Mendenhall and Carr for $85 a month! Although the shop has the latest in equipment and technology, it has a very old fashioned feel to it that I really loved. What really makes this place tick is its owner and operator, Merritt White. As soon as I walked into the shop with my bike and waited my turn, I was so impressed how personal he was with each of his customers. Nobody was rushed, all questions were thoroughly answered and you felt like he had a personal relationship with every one of his customers, whether they were young or old, replacing a tire or wanting to enhance their bike in whatever way. Merritt had all the answers! He told me to come back in 45 minutes and so I thoroughly enjoyed walking down to Tate Street and visiting my old haunts like the Taylor theater and the music building. Upon my return, my bike was fixed and I was thrilled to have it back. I was so impressed with Merritt and his his shop that I had him also replace the tires on my other old fashioned bike. Now I'm riding around my neighborhood in cool White Walls! Who the hell do I think I am? Lol I happened to notice that Recycles also recycles old bikes ( hence, the name!) and donates them or sells them cheaply to those in need. With that in mind, I donated a really cool red bike that I had in my shed and hope Recycles finds a good home for it. Should make some kid happy! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the place to go whether you have an old bike or a new one. He is very knowledgeable and I marveled listening to him talk to each customer. While I waited my turn, there was a young boy with his mom, an avid racer, a new customer and people from all walks of life. Each one was made to feel special, as if they were family, And it was obvious several customers have a long-term relationship with Recycles. I was extremely impressed with the customer service and the service I received. With the weather getting warmer and Greensboro becoming a friendlier place for bicyclists, I cannot think of a better resource for us to have than Recycles. Conveniently located by UNCG and run by a knowledgeable and personable bicyclist, I would say this is definitely the place to go if you are needing advice, gear, equipment, whether your bike is new or old. In no time at all, Recycles will make you feel welcome. listened to and serviced in the best possible way. Got to go. It's time to ride around my neighborhood in my fancy new white walls! Don't be jealous. Go to Recycles and get your own!!

Merritt (owner) and James were so easy to work with. Quality service that made me feel like home. Merritt hooked my bike up the same day I brought it in and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Needless to say I'd recommend this shop to anyone that needs a knowledgeable bike staff that offers quality service. Mahalo

Tod had many different E-Bikes in his shop and he works on all of them. We ended up buying an Addmotor Grandtan 340 Trike for my wife and a Velotric Nomad for me. Josh gave us $200 off each bike, he gave us free helmets, locks, mirrors, bike locks and we had to buy a bike carrier for our bike and trike and got $200. off the carrier. I have a two year and my wife has a 1 year warranty on our bikes. If any problems during that time or later Tod will warranty his bike or repair it. We also met a family of 3 from our neighborhood in Raleigh that bought 3 bikes while we were there. Tod does it all, answers the phone, sells, repairs and and answers any and all questions you have. I cannot even get East Coast Bike Shop to answer their phone to ask questions and they had at least 3 employees in the shop when my wife and I visited the place about a month ago. Conte's Bike shop was very helpful when answering questions but after extensively checking the reviews we did not buy a Rad E-Bike Trike. I know that if and when we have problems with our E-Bikes that we have to travel to High Point but we will peace of mind that it will be done right the first time.

If you are a…read moregroup or family looking for something fun to do together, while getting to know more about the Cary / Raleigh area, we can't recommend Going My Way Bike Tours and Rentals enough! We spent two days with Lori, and even in the sweltering heat we stayed plenty cool because of the wind from cycling and the shade of the Greenways! The first day we were on eBikes, so my husband, who is recovering from injuries, could use the pedal assist, while I was able to get the work out that I really wanted! Lori's tours are perfect for a group with mixed levels of fitness; you will all be able to stay together and see the absolutely unmatched beauty of the NC greenways! We've done bike tours and rented bikes in many parts of the country, and Lori outdid them all...her tours & rentals are affordable, she is patient, kind, inclusive, encouraging, informative...I just can't say enough. We went out on our own after the tour, and because of construction in town, we got a bit lost - lol! But Lori made herself totally available to us, talking us through the way back to our route over the phone while we cycled. And when my husband needed a break, she even drove to pick him up! Lori is like your own personal activity coach, doing everything she can to ensure that your experience is the very best it can be. We live in the Seattle area, but want to go back to North Carolina next year just to spend a week renting bikes from Lori!
