Revive is a good healthy option amidst many unhealthy places on south u. However, it is extremely expensive for what you get. I've noticed that portion size has gone down and the ingredients aren't as fresh. The large number of flies around the food preparation area is also concerning. I'll continue to eat here due to the lack of other options, but I hope the prices come down or the portions go up in size. Finally, the stench that sticks to your clothes is horrid, not sure how to fix this, but it is becoming more and more difficult to support this place. I like this place. Maybe a little pricey, but it's on the first floor of a fancy condo building, so the extra high rents trickle right on down to the consumer. Even with the tax, the coffee is good. The food tastes very fresh and clean. Most importantly, they flex on the specials. Whatever they're doing for the week is usually awesome! They mix flavors really well! I went to Replenish last evening to grab a six pack, and the big, burly, bearded guy behind the counter was openly hostile. Really nasty. I've been going in there for a year now, and I've had some nice conversations with two other guys there, but this was so uncomfortable for me that I will never go in again. On a visit to Revive yesterday, I saw that they've updated some of their serving practices to reduce plastic waste! Sandwich orders are now served on disposable plates made of palm leaves or something similar, which the staff told me are easily biodegradable. read more

I'm surprised to see the negative reviews for Revive. I agree that the prices are a little on the stiff side, but I find Revive to be a great lunch spot. I've never been disappointed with the food. I love the coffee. There are a number of good vegetarian options, and the atmosphere is comfortable and not overly "college-y." Wow, I kind of can't believe I just wrote that last part. I'm getting old. But SRSLY, sometimes I like to feel like an adult. This is not to say that Revive isn't crawling with undergrads at lunch. It is. Even so, it manages to feel a little cleaner and more refined than lots of other options. I also like that there is a fair amount of outdoor cafe-style seating for warm days. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this little cafe and will be returning again soon. Four stars might be generous given that all I had was the tuna salad for lunch (and it had bell peppers in it which threw me off), but: I think they have great customer service; sitting inside is a delight with all the windows, despite its small size; and the food is fresh and reasonably-priced. They have a full coffee bar, baked goods, large-portioned ready-made salads, or you can "build your own". Note that the "build your own" salad option is priced per item, rather than weight, which is kind of unusual. All in all, if you're in the South University/East University area and looking for a quick, healthy bite to eat while doing a little people-watching, check this place out. read more

I wish there was another place with healthy options near the School of Education so I wouldn't have to come here. Their food is decent but they have a salad bar, which is why I go there. However, they don't even deserve 1 star for their customer service. They are always rude, and they have messed up on my order multiple times. You would think they would apologize, offer you something, possibly remake it...nope! Nothing! Their customers are a burden to them and they don't deserve the business they are getting. They could really benefit from new management and employees. I came in about 10 minutes before close one time, and they looked like they wanted to kick me out. Revive is one of my favorite lunch spots. Fantastic coffee, great breakfast burritos, and their pre-made salads are a pretty good deal (the make-your-own option ends up being pricey). Replenish next door has high prices on some things (as you would expect from a convenience store below a high-rise apartment), reasonable prices on others. They have more organic options than 711, though. read more

Cannot say enough good things about Revive. It is a go-to spot for any meal. Great for large groups of people because of the variety. My personal favorite is the Reuben (it is almost on par with Zingerman's). Their burger is vastly underrated. Salads are fresh but not unbelievable. Breakfast items are also delicious. I have been to Revive WAY too many times to count and every experience is great. The service staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is always comfortable. Went in to Revive for a coffee drink. Best coffee and costs less! Came back later to try a sandwich. Got the smoked turkey club on grilled whole wheat. Wow-it was grilled perfectly and the flavors of the turkey and tomato and all showed me it is good quality. Then I went next door to discover a little produce market with dairy and frozen foods reaady for the microwave and snacks and paper products, not to mention good priced beer and wine! This is a review for Revive. (Replenish is a very small grocery store owned by the same folks.) Revive is delicious. My advice is: always get whatever grilled sandwich is on special (it rotates about every two weeks). The service is good - I used them a few times to get boxes of coffee for a class I was teaching, and never ran into trouble. The wait can be a little long, especially on prepared food, so it's best to go when you have time to sit down and enjoy your meal. read more

My favorite thing about Revive is that they serve Mighty Good Coffee and they don't charge extra for soy milk. Their food is pretty good, really like the egg quesadilla and salads. One down side is that whenever I've tried their soup, the portion size is tiny, wish they at least offered a larger size. read more

I had a chance to try their fish taco, which is a summer special, and it is hands-down one of the best fish tacos I have ever had. I'm from California where fish tacos can be found at many eateries and owing to our proximity to Baja California, the quality is high. Trust me when I say that Revive's fish taco is unbelievable. For a few years now Revive has been turning out solid, respectable food made with fresh, quality ingredients that has managed to stay... wait for it... consistent! Working a block away from the joint, I can say that I have yet to experience a less-than-stellar breakfast burrito (scrambled eggs, swiss, salsa and chorizo for about $6) which, incidentally, is finished in the kind of panini press that makes those beautiful 'hot-off-the-grill' marks that are guaranteed to make your fellow office drones look down dejectedly at their brown-bagged tuna salad sandwiches. Also of note: the mozzarella panini. Eat.It.Every.Day. The custom salads are priced a bit high for the demographic (college students would do well to head next door to Za's to get their greens) but overall, Revive is a welcome addition to the South U family. I've only tried the spiced couscous and bulgar salad from Revive. It's delicious. Everything looks fresh and seems healthy.

This is my absolute most favorite coffee shop in Ann Arbor. The salads here are really good (though I admit a little pricey) but their already made salads (especially the arugula salad) are fantastic when I am on the run. If you don't try any of their hot sandwiches, you are missing out. I am in LOVE with the panini sandwiches that they make. I had (my favorite of the menu) mozzarella panini last night. And the SOUP!! I almost forgot the soup. I haven't had a soup there that I didn't really enjoy (always get the whole grain bread with your soup!) . The house coffee is better than most other places "specialty" coffees. Sometimes there is a wait but I think it's because they don't seem to have many people behind the counter. My best friend and I went in on a Tuesday night with no idea what we wanted, and there were two guys (one has a lot of tattoos on his arms and the other has tattoos too but is always wearing a Boston hat or a Detroit hat) behind the counter that were incredibly helpful and were able to build us perfect dinners. I have been back, and plan to go back, every Tuesday night I can. I don't know why people are labeling the staff as nasty, but the two guys I mentioned are cute, always willing to chat, can always recommend something delicious (from a salad to a sandwich to tea) if I can't make up my mind, remember the sandwich they built me, they are very comforting and extremely funny. There is also another guy there who wears an orange truckers hat that works in their little kitchen, and he makes everything I've tried perfectly. All of that being said, I do think the prices should come down a little bit, this is supposed to be a college budget town in the central campus area after all. But it is a wonderful place to hang out with friends, and sip a coffee or snack on a couple of their sandwiches. They have free WiFi, and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed.
