The nurses are wonderful The front desk people are very uneven- some are great, some are understandably defensive and one gentleman in particular is aggressive and admonishing. I have two packages for laser hair removal.This business has been caught at the AI technology crossroads, with generic text messages canceling appointments seen to be randomly autogenerated and an ineffective app that apparently allows users to "make appointments when no staff is available... so sorry we have to cancel/reschedule again" Live staff have committed to at least 5 appointments from April to mid July that were then canceled either right after being made, or often last minute) with some version of this text message "Hi, this is LaserAway San Carlos ( or Burlingame) clinic. It looks like you were booked when a clinician is not available and we will need to reschedue your appointment. . Please give us a call to reschedule " . I have also been asked to give scheduling parameters and told they would get back to me. My schedule is so wide open in Summer. They do get back to me, but not to schedule my appointments, to market and sell facials, botox etc. Umm, I cannot schedule the treatments that I have because you are grossly and by your own admission understaffed in terms of nurses. You overwork and burn out the one's that you have by scheduling them back to back, making clients wait until their appointment times are supposed to be over because you KNOW that you have to allow for downtime between appointments but are so overwhelmed by overselling that you cannot. Your front desk staff one gentleman in particular admonishes the clients if they are five minutes late for parking traffic, warning that your treatment will likely be incomplete/sub-par because of your lateness. They repeat in sing song voices "sorry your wait is so long. we are down to one nurse in this location so she/ he is scheduled back to back" In other words sell, upsell, get new bodies in the door,overcommit so that they cannot fulfill the appointments and commitments made, take 0 accountability, offer no recourse.. The customer is never right but they are appeased and pandered to but almost always left disappointed " we completely understand your frustration. One of our nurses is on maternity leave, but i can get you an appointment on Monday in our San Carlos location." Finally- thank you! Amazing " Alas, you know the cancellation text is forthcoming. Perhaps the act of offering an appointment was just a ruse, to get you off the phone... There is no recourse as you wait untreated, and your body and facial hair cycles through growth stages, rendering your previous treatments less and less effective. Attention, Laser Away, you are a medical spa . Value your nurses and your patients more than or at least as well as your sales and marketing brigade.You should understand that the timing of treatments is vital to results and efficacy of said treatments. STOP selling treatments that you cannot schedule or fulfill and prioritize the current clients/patients. Stop offering 80% off to new clients/patients and offer to refund or credit back to your loyal existing customers past appointments that have bern rendered less effective because you were unable to accommodate or schedule regular 6 week appointments. I work a school year schedule with special needs kids. My summer schedule is soooo relaxed and I have availability weekday and weekend mornings ,afternoons, evenings. I am willing to go to other locations. The fact that I have not been able to get in the door for an appointment this summer at all, does not bode well for fulfilling my significant investment. Please stop offering to sell me more services and have a manager schedule a phone call to get my existing appointments on a schedule that will be honored. I am fair and balanced and always take ethics into play giving business the benefit of the doubt when writing reviews. My Yelp Elite status demands it. If anything, I have underplayed my recent negative experiences. The teo stars remain because the nurse practitioners, Natalie in particular, are spectacular at what they do. Update- new site manager Emily called to acknowledge and make amends and was so accommodating and took accountability. She assured me that this is temporary nursing shortage issue and pushed me into the overly packed schedule . Upgrading this to a 3 star review - 4 stars for Burlingame. One star for Corporate and marketing and Five stars for Natalie and potentially for Emily, if she can deliver on promises.

I was disappointed to learn--only after calling Sev to book--that "large" meant either upper or lower legs, not both. That initial phone call set the tone for the rest of my experience. The man I spoke with was dismissive and repeatedly fixated on the fact that I had purchased a Groupon, pushing me to buy an additional package to cover my full legs. I made it clear multiple times that I chose Groupon intentionally because I could not afford the in-house bundles and was comfortable proceeding with lower legs only. His tone felt judgmental and presumptive about my financial situation, as though I was making a poor choice rather than an informed one. I ultimately stood my ground, opting to start with lower legs and potentially invest more later if I was satisfied with the service. At my first appointment, the treatment itself went smoothly. However, at checkout, the receptionist again made pointed comments about my Groupon purchase and attempted to upsell me on an additional package, calling it "the best savings." I declined politely, though it was becoming uncomfortable to feel singled out for how I chose to pay. That night--and for nearly two weeks afterward--I experienced severe, deep itchiness in the treated area. As an esthetician, I tried every appropriate remedy: aloe, hydrocortisone, and antihistamines. Nothing helped. When I called Sev seeking guidance, I was hung up on. I was left suffering without answers or support. By my next appointment, the reaction had subsided, and I asked the nurse what could have caused it. She suggested a possible allergic reaction to the laser, though I explained that I had undergone laser treatments elsewhere in the past without any issues and that no remedies had provided relief. She wasn't sure but speculated that my hair thickness could be contributing and that it might improve over time. Unfortunately, it did not. On my fourth visit, despite consistently booking Monday noon appointments, the receptionist insisted I was late and told me I needed to reschedule. When I asked about the late policy or what time she had me scheduled for, she refused to clarify. I later pulled up both email and text confirmations proving I was on time and that she was incorrect. Even then, she laughed it off and still insisted I reschedule without explaining the policy. I eventually contacted the manager, who acknowledged that this receptionist had been an ongoing issue. The manager was empathetic, professional, and kind, and she offered me a complimentary service for the inconvenience. This is the sole reason this location receives even one star from me. The manager and nurses were consistently compassionate and respectful. By my fifth session, however, I was still experiencing intense itchiness after each treatment. At that point, I decided to stop altogether. I accepted the complimentary service out of respect for the manager, but I will not return. I chose to go back to a previous laser provider where I never had adverse reactions. To be clear: the issue is not Groupon. The issue is how customers who use Groupon are treated. The repeated upselling, dismissive attitudes, and subtle discrimination made me feel lesser and unwelcome. If offering Groupon services is such a burden, then don't offer them. Making clients feel ashamed or undervalued for seeking an accessible option is unacceptable. Please, do better.

As in, the full syringe was opened, so regardless of the fact if she used the whole thing or only a quarter, you still pay full price. Such bs. I really liked my experiences at Entrada, it was easy to make appointments, I never had any issues, before, during, or after the visit and always appreciated the cooling gel they give as a nice extra touch. My four is mainly for my unique situation, which was that it was just one spot that took less than 10 seconds to zap. Even adding in a couple extra areas that I usually would just pluck, the entire visit would take less than 2 minutes. Which was pretty steep at around $80 each. I had about 6-8 appointments (it's been about a year or so since I completed the last one so I'm not totally sure at this point) but within about 3 months or so, I noticed everything had grown back. So unless I was willing to have consistent recurring appointments, it didn't make sense for me to continue with the service. I simply switched over to shaving vs plucking and called it a day. I will say that I'm still very pleased that I visited Entrada as the redness from the spot completely faded and it fully healed. Which was everything I could have hoped for. So for me, while it was expensive, I'm very glad I did it and would recommend Entrada for similar issues.

The massage portion was minimal and felt incomplete, and lotion was applied while my feet were still wet. When I got home and looked more closely, I noticed the polish didn't fully cover my nails, several toenails were uneven, and the overall finish looked sloppy. My daughter and I were in and out in under 30 minutes, yet we were charged $100 for the service. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to make a scene, but after having to spend time at home fixing my own nails, I was very disappointed. This did not meet professional pedicure standards AT ALL!! If you're looking for a quality, detailed pedicure, this is not the place.

My first visit, the consult, they showed the works! Which was fine because I had no idea that there were so many different products and services. Before, I knew it, I had the works done on me (same day as the consult), they sold me on way more botox and Radiesse than I needed, my face had bruising and was swollen for over a week and I was in a lot of pain during and after the procedures (because I was only given a frozen water balloon ). Like I mentioned earlier, I didn't know any better, so I thought that it was how it's done and it's the price to pay for beauty, no pain, no gain. The second visit was for my first ever IPL (photofacial) for my melasma (what they sold me on during my initial consult visit). They made me go upstairs to one machine and run downstairs to a second machine because they said the lasers treats different color pigmentation (brown, red). My face burned like it was litterally on fire! The woman "nurse" who did the IPL on me burned/singed a big chunk of hair by my ear and I was smelling my hair burning during procedure but I was told not to move or say anything and she acted as if it was nothing. After the procedure, she just disappeared and I was left laying there in pain for over 45 minutes, then another person walked and acted surprised that I was still there and told me to go wash my face wtih cool water. I asked for the nurse who performed the IPL on me and they said she had gone home. I never saw or heard from that "nurse" who did the IPL on me... and again, I was just sent home with a frozen water balloon. I thought I would get a follow-up phone call from them because of the little incident I had, I wasn't going to make a big deal about it but it would have been nice if they showed some concern. After a week, I called the office because most of the hair on the side of my right ear (like sideburns) were falling off and I was worried that it wouldn't grow back; I was still very polite and nice when I called because I didn't know any better. They told me that it was common and that it happens all the time and some people like their facial hair removed and that in fact that it was one of the positive side-effects of IPLs. I was shocked to hear that and just took their word for it even though I liked to have hair on that part of my face and was just hoping no one would notice it if it never grew back. Well, the good news is I looked into a few other places and they are much better priced and I had so much, much better results! At first, when I started calling other places to inquire about an IPL photofacial, like an idiot wanting to sound smart and that I knew what I was doing this time around, I asked them if they are using two machines for red and brown pigment lasers, every other place said that their machines are NEW and it had both lasers in one machine and it also has a built-in cooling system and everything. It made sense...and ever since, I had gone to other places for an IPL and all other services similar, it has been just great, much better results, painless, and one third of the cost and my face is not on fire and in pain during or after all the procedures and the best part, no more frozen water balloons needed! If I had to endure the pain I experienced at Rev laser center, I probably would rather just live with the wrinkles and melasma for the rest of my life than ever go back there again!!! read more

I just wanted to let people know that Marissa is a wonderful esthetician. I am an esthetician myself and love getting facials at other spas by other estheticians because it's a great learning experience. Although, most of the time I walk away thinking "that's something I will NOT be doing to my clients," this time I walked away thinking, "that's exactly the way I want to treat my clients!" She was the 1st esthetician that told me I had beautiful skin! I know I don't have perfect skin and I should never step out of the house with out make-up on, but to hear that she saw something beautiful about my skin was really nice for a change. When she analyzed my skin under the mag light she started with a compliment, "you have beautiful, soft skin - no lines or wrinkles." She went on to say that most of the way my skin is was because of my heritage - the skin I was born with. Then she recommended products, and treatments that will help with dehydration, my hormonal/stress-causing breakouts, and my hyperpigmentation concerns. Another reason I really like her was that she was friendly! She treated me like a person, not just another "face" she was working on. During the peel she asked me about my life: work, my hometown, etc. It definitely wasn't too much talking by any means, just enough to make me feel like she cared. I could tell, being in the business myself, that Marissa is very knowledgeable, loves what she does, and is passionate about skincare. She will teach you how to keep your skin healthy, but at the same time make you feel good about your skin. It's not always easy for me to accept my skin the way it is (being the skin obsessed perfectionist that I am) but Marissa definitely helped! read more

From start to finish, the experience was top-notch, and the outcomes exceeded our expectations thanks to Dr. Misle and her amazing staff. The Sciton BBL laser is like a magic wand for skin problems. My mom suffers from rosacea on her face, this treatment tackles it all with precision and effectiveness. The range of applications is truly remarkable, thanks to the expertise of Dr. Misle. I came in for a consultation for a CoolSculpting procedure on my neck. After the consul with Dr. Misle I felt comfortable moving forward with the procedure. On the day off the procedure they set me up in room and attached the machine to my face for a 45 min session. After 35 minutes the machine came off my face, I rang for help, the assistants came in and started asking me if I wanted to come back and do that same side again. How would I know if that side was completed or not and why were they asking me. After that I didn't feel comfortable moving forward with the procedure so I called them the next day to resolve. No one called back for days. I wanted my $600 deposit back and nothing to do with them. They will not give me my deposit back and dr. Misle who finally answered my call ended up hanging up on me after telling me what she thinks happened (she wasn't even there during the procedure). The worst customer experience I've ever had. They do not care about you as a patient at all. Stay away from them. Plenty of other places who actually care about their patients and customer service. read more

Many get the same EXACT consultation- the "liquid face lift" with radiesse. That is more of a sales pitch than a personal consultation but i assume most medical spas do this. I simply wanted under eye filler, the doctor wouldn't do it and boy did i regret the even more sunken, hollowed-out look across my infra-orbital ridge. I went back and the doctor had the very nice nurse give me a three minute complimentary elixis treatment to flatten(?) my filler pronounced cheekbone but unfortunately, it did NOTHING. i looked older than before with the new Radiesse in my cheekbones, years older. Boy, did i regret the cheek filler...My eyes have enormous shadows...because my cheeks are so prominent..My face is normally very thin and long. Then when returning to let the doctor at another visit, again mentioning it gave me an even more sunken appearance- i was told to get the plasma therapy under my eyes. No before and after pictures, just another grand or so potentially making me look better or worse? i wouldn't know.. read more

Thank You Dr. Misle for helping me look less drawn in the face with your Voluma filler techniques - and the proof was highly apparent to me during a recent trip to my homeland after a year of being away. My mum, brothers (yes!) and sisters were commenting on how good and healthy I looked this time round. Even my sister's husband commented on my healthy appearance so I must have been bad previously! Every other year, I would listen to the critics telling me that I looked tired and drawn in the face...too thin etc. This year, I couldn't help chuckle when I would hear the very positive remarks. I got a Groupon gift from my sister for Botox 20Units. The staff is friendly, Dr.M is a little pushy but unfortunately that is a normal thing for now days, too many doctors not enough patients. My appointment started with smiles and ended with disappointment, then full of wonders. First of all, Dr.M is mixing multiple meds and calls it " Botox " What she's doing is called experimenting on patients. She starts with mixing sodium chloride ( salt water ) with Dysport ( Dysport is Botox equivalent which takes an effect in 3-5 days) and then finishes with a few units of Botox. There is no harm in such mixture, except for, its cheating and unethical. I actually thought that she might know something new that other doctors didn't want to tell us, but it turns out she's just cheating us to make up for the loss in Groupon deals. Long story short, Botox wore off in 24 days. read more

Run don't walk and make an appointment or a consultation with Dr. Misle! The results that I have 2 days after several injections and fillers is amazing! I keep looking in the mirror, it is like I had a face lift done in a 30 minute office visit. I have seen work done by top level plastic surgeons where the client looks like they have permanent bee stings, the swelling on the face doesn't look normal, or the lips look too bloated and fake. Dr. Misle has an artistic gift, technical brilliance and compassion to use fillers, botox etc to bring back youth and lift to the face. She does not force her aesthetic on you, she listens to what YOU want, examines your individual bone structure and muscles to determine how much filler is right for you. Dr. Misle is brilliant, her work is the best thing I have ever seen. For the past 5 years I have come in annually to see Dr. Misile and every time I am thrilled with the results: natural looking ... I just look better. Not everyone understands the sculptural variations of the human face but I find the doctor to not only be extremely competent with injections etc she is also artistically dialed in to understand how to work with her individual clients. Recently she used Restylane Lyft and Restylane silk and all my friends have been commenting about how good it looks. I have rosacea on my cheeks and chin. I heard about the new clinic and some of the newest technology that they use. I had the photo rejuvenation and the results could not have turned out better. The staff was very attentive and Dr. Misle is fabulous. Anyone who wants the newest technology and the best service need to go there. I have been to several dermatologist and this is the first place I have been that gave me results within a couple days. I went to Reviv Med Spa for Spectra Laser treatment on my freckles on Asian skin and since I started the treatments I have had 3 separate people say my skin was "glowing". Literally, unsolicited out of no where compliments from people using the exact same word. Another word used was "luminous". The Spectra in combination with a juicing regiment has totally taken my skin to another level. My skin is now envy-worthy, but I tell these women that comment on it my secret. Spectra and juicing! I came to Revive with a botox groupon, and added the Spectra Laser treatment for my hyper pigmentation on my face. the results were fantastic! dr. misel is very thorough and you can tell she cares about her patients results....which is why i plan to go back for periodic Spectra treatments (and botox here and there...she was careful never to "over do it" with the botox which was important to me). Went on the bloomspot special and ended up with droopy eyelids/brow. This is the first time it's ever happened. I've called to see the doctor, and will go back in, but honestly, I am hesitant to go back to someone who screwed up in the first place. Will give an update. However, it would be my suggestion to look elsewhere. Update: Went back in and the doctor reviewe my before and after photos and tried to give my eyebrows a bit of a lift, but basically said, it will wear off. Gee, that's customer service. For me, I really didn't want a lot of the heaviness in my forehead and she did the smallest amount possible to just get my forehead lines to chill out. I love the results! I also tried PRP microneedling with her the first time and i've been back for the second treatment. She is such a wealth of knowledge - that while we wait I pick her brain on everything - eczema, dark spots, collagen...lol. The microneedling is fast, numbing cream is excellent, and she uses a wand (not a stamp) which makes the actual microneedling part like 10 minutes? On several occasions, I arrived on time for a confirmed appointment only to wait 45 minutes or more before being seen. I understand that healthcare offices can run behind occasionally, but when this becomes a consistent pattern, it shows a lack of respect for patients' time. Many of us take time off work, arrange childcare, and adjust our schedules to make these appointments. The staff may be courteous, but the scheduling process is disorganized and unreliable. If you book an appointment here, be prepared for significant delays and the possibility that your confirmed appointment may not actually be honored as scheduled. I hope management takes a serious look at their scheduling practices because this experience has been disappointing and unnecessarily stressful.

The day before my first appointment I called because I had not received instructions for the visit nor confirmation for any of the visits. Too bad, they said, they could not reschedule me for another month. Luckily, I went elsewhere and then learned I did NOT need a series of 3 treatments - due to the condition of my skin, one was plenty for the results I wanted. So inadvertently, their mistake saved me the $3,000 that they had upsold me on. Additionally, the Dysport I received was poorly placed (and expensive), and now I have to wait until it wears off to have it corrected by someone else. They talked me into getting Dysport in my chin, and now my chin involuntarily gets stuck in bizarre placements and I have to manually move it. Absolutely the WORST experience I've ever had with a dermatology or esthetics clinic. Recommend going literally anywhere else.
