While I understand the limitations HIPAA places on healthcare providers, Quincy's response to my review is a deflection that fails to acknowledge the gravity of the situation or take responsibility for her actions. I want to clarify a few critical points for the benefit of anyone reading this, especially expectant parents who may be considering her care. Yes, families should have choices in their birth experience--but they deserve accurate information, timely medical judgment, and appropriate referrals when serious risks arise. I communicated clear red flags, including premature rupture of membranes (PROM), meconium-stained fluid, and signs of infection. Despite this, I was left without any physical monitoring or in-person care for 36 hours, and I was never referred to the hospital--even though her own licensing guidelines explicitly require her to transfer care immediately when risk factors like these appear. I was relying on Quincy's professional judgment, trusting she would alert me when things became dangerous. That trust was deeply misplaced. When I finally went to the hospital (on my own initiative), I was diagnosed with chorioamnionitis, a serious infection, and had to undergo an emergency C-section. My daughter and I were both extremely lucky to come through this without permanent harm. Quincy's claim that we had "numerous discussions" about transferring care is simply not true. She minimized my concerns, dismissed signs of infection, and only offered a transfer as a casual option--not a medical necessity. Additionally, when I attempted to address this with her post-birth, she shifted the blame onto me rather than taking responsibility. This review is not written out of spite. It's written to protect other families from experiencing the fear, danger, and betrayal I felt in one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. I was present during part of your care. We were at the hospital for hours together. Also, if you're inclined to follow HIPAA, why were you giving out my friend's medical information to my family member? I understand you don't want to accept fault. You cannot argue with the fact that you did not monitor baby and mom and left them unattended with her water broken for too long. Baby had tachycardia when we got to the hospital.Most likely had it prior to the hospital. Update: her response "Sorry your "family member" was no longer under my care at the hospital. Also when people know each other out in the community that is not a violation of HIPAA if they already know each others stories." They did not know each others stories. You told her more information than the person shared. HIPAA violation. They are not friends. They barely know each other. You shared private medical information. You say you transferred care yet you still were saying opinions on what should be done in the hospital. You were still talking about the situation whether you were in charge of care on paper or not. You were still in the recovery room with me writing down things about the situation. You said it yourself.. I heard it out of your mouth multiple times, she was an anomaly. Why didn't you transfer care sooner? Why did you wait till Sunday to check on my sister and my niece? You waited until SUNDAY to physically see them! Relied on a first time mom to know what's normal and what not when she has ZERO experience! At the very least, you should've checked on them Saturday morning and checked on the amniotic fluid that was leaking! You didn't! ALSO- SHE PAID YOU FOR FULL CARE. I gave birth to my baby boy at home with Quincy on September 12, 2025, and the experience was everything I could have hoped for and more. We were on the fence on where we wanted to give birth. A home birth was always my dream and but my partner was concerned about the risks associated with it especially since I'm 34 and have had issues with anemia in the past. After meeting with Quincy for our consultation she did a fantastic job of educating us on the process and we knew home birth was the way to go. All our visit were soo professional and informative. When the big day came my partner and I were both in a ready mindset. I felt super comfortable and prepared when my water broke at 4 am. By we reached out to Quincy later in the morning and by the afternoon she and her assistant Karen arrived later that afternoon when my contractions started to pickup. The entire labor I felt soo comfortable and safe and cared for. Quincy and Karen gave us lots of privacy and the whole experience was so sweet and intimate. Our two dogs were by my side through the experience. I was pretty tired towards the end when it finally came time to push but Quincy, Karen, and my partners' words of encouragement were what I needed to get our son out. It was such a relief to hear his first cries when he popped out. I was helped back into bed while and stitched up for a minor tear after my placenta was delivered. Of course we opted for the delayed cord clamping. They did all the clean up afterwards so my partner and I could rest while the baby was resting. I was able to have my placenta encapsulated and get those nutrients back in my body. We continued to have check ups with Quincy, she always makes sure we are well taken care of and all our concerns are addressed. My birth was the most raw, real, unexplainable, beautiful experience I have encountered since my 33 years on this Earth. Quincy has been amazing through this whole journey! I contacted her before I was even pregnant to ask questions and she was forthcoming and open.
