Let me explain to the dads out there why this turned out to be so awesome and worth every penny. There is a lot about the whole pregnancy thing that are challenging for dad mostly because you feel a little helpless. I had no idea what to really expect and hadn't even seen a birth before. We took some hypno-birthing classes and those were helpful. I also read a ton of books. One I recommend is Expectant Fathers http://a.co/6av4TBN - it is a book just for expecting dads. From the first meeting we liked Britney because she tells it like it is, asks thoughtful questions and is flexible with her approach. This means you get to direct how you want the brith to go down. She comes and meets with you a couple of times before the baby is born. This is great because you get to ask more questions and dive into what to expect the day of. My wife really really didn't want a c-section and Britney was great about helping us understand how we can best avoid the procedure. She also wanted to avoid an epidural...and she did. Now fast forward to the day of the birth, or in our case the two days :) It is darn near traumatizing to watch your significant other go through child labor. We stayed home as long as we could before heading to the hospital. Britney was texting and calling while we waited, ate, slept, walked, drank water, and chilled for hours while the labor proceeded. It was nice having someone I could reach out to with questions while we were at home because I have no fricken clue what exactly to do during labor. The best way to sum it up is this - Britney is the coach and mentor for the brith. This allows us dads to take on the roll of supporter and comforter. I am so thankful that I didn't need to tell my wife that she "needs to push harder!" because Britney was there to do that. I can only imagine how well that would have gone over with me telling her that after hours of pushing. During labor, neither our OB nor our Midwife made it to the delivery room. Without Britney there we would have been going through this entire thing alone, without anyone we knew or had a relationship with. There is no question that our birth was a thousand times better because Britney was our guide. As a dad she also made my experience better because it gave me a unique chance to be involved in a caring way during the labor.

We had the absolute best experience with Quincy and her assistant, Karen. They both helped my wife,…read moreStella, deliver our beautiful baby boy, and we still can't stop talking about how grateful we are that they were the ones by our side. From the very beginning, Quincy made everything feel safe, calm, and personal. Nothing ever felt rushed or clinical--just genuinely caring and intentional. As first-time parents, we had plenty of questions and nerves, but Quincy always knew how to reassure us without ever dismissing what we were feeling. When it came time for the birth, the whole experience felt incredibly intimate and exactly what Stella needed. The attention, support, and presence she offered were beyond anything we could've hoped for. For those of you on the fence about home birth in area and have read about any negative experience with Revelation Midwifery, I cannot stress enough that while everyone's birth experience is different and their own, Quincy's holistic approach DOES provide her clients with the information to arm themselves appropriately--and every choice is their own. It is obvious after working with her that she would never ever put her clients and their babies in harms way. While various situations can--and sometimes do--arise, there is a reason why Quincy focuses strongly on the parent's alternate birth plans if the need presents itself. Quincy is a very knowledgeable birth professional able to help weigh the pros and cons of any situation while providing the birth mothers and their families the right to their own birth experience. And Quincy is an amazing educator who ensures the parents understand this when choosing an alternate birth experience. As a couple who had an elevated risk for bleeding due to a genetic disorder, we were extremely well prepared for any outcome thanks to Revelation Midwifery's care before and during the birth. Honestly, my wife and I wouldn't have had our care any other way. We had an amazing and safe experience. If you're looking for someone who truly honors a safe and natural birth experience, Quincy is the one.

I've taken two of their mommy-and-baby class series, and I loved both of them. Each series includes special touches like each week is a different topica mini photoshoot, a swim party, and so much more, which makes it absolutely worth every penny. Carmen, who helped lead the group, is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always makes me feel heard. She gives thoughtful advice and truly cares about the moms and babies she works with. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. I've also attended several music classes with Michelle, and those have been some of my favorites. My daughter absolutely loves music time, and Michelle does such a great job keeping the kids engaged and entertained. We truly love The Mommy Center and are so grateful for everything they offer!!

Prior to class, we had a group WhatsApp which made it so easy to communicate and get introduced to each other. I love that the center organized mommy outings for us, planned family picnics, as well as provided professional photography. I was never stressed out when I was at the center, knowing that there's a diaper station with plenty of diapers in many sizes, formula in case mamas forget to bring sustenance for baby, bottle warmers, and everything we need to feel comfortable. It felt above and beyond. I highly recommend trying one of several classes they offer! I'm excited to continue onto their 4-6 month old sessions and try out the baby music class.

She is kind, knowledgable, supportive, reassuring and an overall pleasure to be around. I felt totally comfortable with her from the first meeting on and I feel like we will always have a bond with her because she helped us bring our beautiful baby into the world. We planned a Bradley birth which she completely supported and, during our first few meetings, was instrumental in encouraging me find a care provider who would help me realize my goal of going unmedicated. Without her gentle encouragement I know my prenatal care and childbirth would have been much different. During the labor she offered wonderful words of encouragement along with experienced advice which helped me to understand what was happening with my body all while supporting my husband as he supported me. After the birth of our son, she stayed with us for the first few hours and helped with everything, from breastfeeding to helping me use the restroom (which is terrifying the first time) and she even gave me a very welcomed foot massage. She also came and visited us a few days after my sons birth, just to say hi, talk about the birth, and offer a helping hand around the house. She also made herself very available for questions or just to talk from our first meeting until now! My husband and I (along with our baby!) would highly recommend Tiffany as a doula!

However, after some encouragement from a friend, my husband and I decided to meet with Tiffany. I knew immediately that she was someone I wanted at my labor. Tiffany has amazing energy and a very calm spirit. Having a doula meant everything to us as Tiffany prepared us before the event and stayed with us as long as I needed her. One of the things I loved about having a doula is she gave my husband incredible confidence and support. We both felt prepared and excited before having our son. Do to some health issues, I ended up giving birth in the hospital. Tiffany was a rock for both my husband and myself. If it wasn't for her, I would have gone to the hospital many times before I needed to. She answered all of my calls and texts and was right there with me when I was ready to go to the hospital. I was already 8 cm when we arrived! I could go on forever, but I will end this by saying every pregnant woman should have the individual support of a doula. Meet with one and see, like I did, if it is an option for you.

If I'm being…read morehonest, I was a little skeptical at first--"hypno" anything sounded a bit out there to me. But I signed up to support my wife, and I'm really glad I did. This class completely changed how I see birth and my role in it. Instead of feeling like a bystander, I walked away feeling informed, useful, and actually confident in how I can support my wife during labor. The techniques we learned--breathing, relaxation, visualization--aren't just for moms. I found myself using them too, and they've already helped us both stay calmer leading up to the big day. What stood out most was how much emphasis was placed on teamwork. I learned specific, practical ways to advocate for my wife, help her stay relaxed, and create a positive environment no matter how the birth unfolds. It made me feel like an active participant instead of just "the guy in the room." The instructor, Care, was very knowledgeable, approachable, and never made any question feel silly. She made the classes very comfortable and even pretty funny at times. The class also struck a great balance between education and hands-on practice, so it didn't feel like we were just sitting through lectures. If you're a partner on the fence about taking a hypnobirthing class--do it. Even if you're skeptical like I was, you'll come away with tools, confidence, and a much deeper understanding of what your partner is going through. Honestly, it's one of the best things we've done together to prepare for becoming parents.
