    Gilded Agate coasters

This was my first time here and I had nothing but a good time! The staff was friendly, the ambiance makes you want to stay all day and the fact that they have food and drinks makes that very much a reality. My friend and I made Gilded Agate coasters. This craft could have been fine in 30mins but we slowed it down and took a little over an hour to connect and talk while creating the coasters. It's a great spot for date night, Bachelorette parties, or catching up with friends. The space can be loud or quiet and the music is eclectic to match all ear interests. The fact that you can drop in is great! Which allows for spur of the moment ideas or planned nights. Excited to come back and make another craft!!

I'm definitely a fan! I had a great time on my first visit and left with a really fun piece of art (an adorable ice cream cone string art). They make crafting really accessible. Creating things can be really intimidating because it's hard to pick a project and then go out and buy everything you need to execute the project. They do the hard parts for you. First of all, they let you drink fancy cocktails while you craft. They also provide you with the ideas, have all the supplies ready, and clean up for you. I can't tell you how many projects I haven't started because of the prospect of having to clean up after myself. Go get yo craft on!

I dropped into Revel on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends to check the place out. It was adorable, fun, and everyone was friendly! They had multiple DIY options and even let us make a DIY item not on the current menu. They provide smocks and all of the supplies you need to make some super cute and crafty DIYs. They also serve drinks, snacks, and host parties. They had a little girl's birthday going on while we were there and it was the cutest thing ever! I will definitely go back to make some more crafts!

We made a reservation a couple days ahead of time and went in a group of 6 friends to craft. I'd never heard of or been here before! I was pleasantly surprised what a low key, evening relaxing environment it was. I'm a mom of a toddler and on Friday night I wasn't crazy about going to a noisy bar, which luckily this wasn't! -Order a drink and/or snack -Look through the menu in person or online and choose which craft you'd like to do (prices are listed) -They bring you a tray of your supplies with instructions -Craft and sip! -Conveniently pay at the register on your way out, separate checks:) *Parking with a map listed on their website. Two (cheap!!:)) garages within short walking distance. This place is great to craft, get a drink, a snack, chat with the girls and have fun. A clean bathroom, too;) It was a unique experience and I'm glad I went!

I love this place--how it looks, the idea behind it, the people that work here and so much more. I first discovered it by parking right in front of it and seeing their sign outside that said "craft bar". I knew it was right up my alley--the workers were so welcoming and just made everything feel so relaxed and comfortable. They may have some special craft during the week and then a book that has their regular crafts as well. I did the string art--all the materials came in a box for me with instructions. I had the freedom to choose how much string and what colors I wanted. I came back to make a present for my cousin's golden 29th birthday--they had DIY beer holders (they held a 6 pack of beer). We came a bit on the later side that evening and ended up not finishing before closing. But the person working was so kind and patient--she helped us so much and didn't show any impatience at all. And to not even skip one of the best parts--they have great cocktails and yummy beer too! Definitely coming back--maybe I can catch one of their special classes/events one day. :)

I had a great time at the agate coaster making event! The only thing that was a little disappointing was that the drink I ordered at the bar was $10, which was a little steep as it is, but the event itself was also expensive. If you are going to charge that much for an event, I would hope to get a drink included in addition to just a cupcake. I thought the event was fun! I will be back for sure.

"Pinterest IRL." Revel is looks like a Pinterest board, from the decor to the projects you create. If you don't know what that means, it's OK. Basically Revel is a space to do crafting projects (pay per whatever project you wish to create). You can choose from a menu of projects, or attend a specific project class, and have as much time as you wish to unleash your creativity. My crafting skills are poor at best, but I was able to make a small project and enjoy myself. Although the staff does interact with customers, customers work independently rather than following an exact set of instructions or guidance from staff. Adults and children are welcome, although Revel is mostly oriented at adults--any children should be closely supervised as there are tools like hot glue guns. Overall, I'm not really into crafting so Revel doesn't have huge appeal to me, but I enjoy the fact that it's something new and different than the other eating and drinking activities in downtown Madison. I think people who like Pinterest crafts would love this place.

"Revel?!? What is that?" I'll tell ya what it is...it's genius. Are you like me? Do you make a list of excuses for not creating/crafting/DIY-ing at home? - too messy! - too much prep - too much searching for all the thing I need! - too many distractions - too many other things I should be doing! Le sigh Revel is the answer to your DIY woes. This is essentially a crafting bar, come in grab a cocktail menu and a crafting menu, decide on your project an your libation and Sarah and the lovely revel ladies do all the setting up and drink mixing. You just relax and get in the crafting zone! No appointment necessary. They offer a full schedule of cool instructor lead classes so check those out too. I truly believe this is better than therapy and more relaxing than a massage. So fun and perfect for all skill levels. come by yourself, with a friend or a group. Their gorgeous space can accommodate lots of people comfortably. Time to get your craft on Madison!

We've always had good food in Madison and even though we wanted to get home after a long day, we thought it would be worth the delay. Unfortunately, this time, it wasn't worth it. I feel like it's time and money wasted. I'll get to details, but I'm mainly basing this review on the quality of the food I received. Before getting to the food, our service was great. Our server was a bit slow considering there were only 3 tables (including us) occupied. Or it's more of a relaxed atmosphere, so she was just giving us a lot of time to look over the menu. But aside from that, she was friendly, helpful, and kind. Atmosphere is on the dark side. There are two screens to play games (golf, etc) on two corners of the building. I think there are plenty of options, but we were mainly in for food, and didn't really get much info on the games. I did ask whether they were run on a reservation basis, and the hostess (who was also our server) said yes. She didn't mention any pricing, so I'm not sure what the details on that is. Margarita special $5 This was great. Not overly sweet, and just the right amount of booze. It came in a whiskey cup rather than a margarita one. 3sheep chaos pattern on draft Price for draft beer is not cheap, and the beer was great. The glass it came in was super clean, but also warm. I think it just came out of the dishwasher... So clean, but beer glasses should be cold on principle. Wings The description says these are baked, and then fried before tossed in their sauce. The sauce is yummy. The wings are a fairly large size. But I think they forgot to fry it. The skin on the wings weren't at all crispy, but kinda mushy. The meat was well cooked, but also on the dry side. The celery sticks and carrot rings on the side were super fresh and crispy. Blind burger with side salad I ordered it done medium. It came out very well done. For a wagyu, it lacked fat content, and cooked for too long, so it was very dry. We had just hiked 4 hours at Devil's Lake and quite hungry, but I couldn't finish it. Seasoning was great though. And the side salad was also very fresh. Brussels sprouts Something I haven't done in the last 15 years... I had to ask them to redo it. It came out with underdone Brussels. Interestingly, after I asked them to heat it up more for me, it came out perfect, with the right amount of searing on all the cut sides. Overall, it feels like the kitchen was having a bad day and bad timing - wings needed to get in the fryer for longer, burger should've been out of the pan sooner, Brussels should've stayed in longer. For the prices I paid, I expect better food. Especially since the kitchen knows how to fix their stuff! It was like they put 70% into all the dishes until I spoke up. Would I go back? Nope. Not convinced that the 4.4 rating is justified for me.

We arrived shortly after they opened and it was excellent: great service, great vibes. We were so relaxed. We visited on a dancing night and even though we stayed at our table, it was so fun to see people of all ages, sexualities, and wardrobes coming to and from the dancefloor. Once it got busy, the bartenders were really struggling. It seemed like most of them were new because they kept asking one of the bartenders questions. One of them didn't even know where to find the drink I ordered (it was on the menu, and in the fridge in a can). Once all of the employees are as seasoned as the one they were all asking questions to, I think things will run much more smoothly. It also turned into a big party atmosphere which was fine with us, but many of the tables that were relaxing when we arrived were gone shortly after the music started. So just choose your visit time based on the type of experience you want.

Crystal Corner is located in the famed Willy Street area of Madison, sitting on the corner of Willy Street and Baldwin Street. Crystal Corner has the vibe of the neighborhood, as is it divey, funky, nostalgic and truly local. However, even with all those things, this spot missed the mark for me and my buddy. We swung by on Sunday afternoon for a few drinks while wandering around Willy Street. We bellied up to the bar and ordered a couple of Bloody Mary's, to which the bartender said "Oh, I need to make up some mix. I can't believe people still drink those things around here.". Which was odd, as that was about to be our third bloody of the day, with neighboring restaurants going as far as having special bloody menus. The bartender pulled a can of tomato juice out, dumped it in a pitcher, added a few dashes of hot sauce, Worcestershire and some seasonings. And that was it. She then took some rail vodka, mixed it all up, and topped with an olive and pickle. While I know this sounds phenomenal, it was in fact one of the worst bloody's I have had. Additionally, the olive and pickle were a weird, almost rubbery texture. The combination of everything was off putting...and that was just the start. Next up is the space itself. While I appreciate a good dive bar that is full of nostalgic artwork, furnishings, lighting, etc...but it shouldn't be visible that the place hasn't been cleaned since these things were added. The ceilings and floors were the worst part, with the ceiling tiles being caked with black dust and dirt. Again, being worn is part of being divey, but being dirty doesn't have to be. In addition to the the main room ceilings, the bathroom ceilings were awful, missing tiles, moldy pipes exposed and just an overall feeling of ick that is beyond a normal bar bathroom. Last, but certainly not least, was the service and vibes. They were off, and kind of weird. When we arrived, there were a few locals and regulars, and then a few folks, including us. While the bartender was friendly with us, she was very rude, uncomfortably so, to another patron when he pulled out a credit card instead of cash (cash only spot). There was a little back and forth, then he left. Even after he left, she was calling him names and such to the other patrons. Again, uncomfortable, especially as a new patron to the bar. Overall, the bloody wasn't the only thing that left a bad taste here. From the bloody to the service to the dirtiness, this place needs some love and was just not it for us.
