Rev Beck - Sand ceremony - Officiants Near Me

Rev. Steve Beck officiated our wedding in April at Leal Vineyards and we could not have dreamed of a more beautiful ceremony. Steve is truly gifted and experienced at what he does. Our ceremony was personal and emotional, filled with lots of love, tears, and laughs. Steve has the ceremony memorized, which allows him to be completely present in the moment. He does a wonderful job at connecting with the couple and the guests during the ceremony. The sand ceremony was a lovely element after exchanging our vows. It was a great way to include our mothers and add an extra personal touch. You also get a great keepsake to remind you of your special day. Steve went above and beyond to put us at ease and make our wedding day as stress-free as possible. From meeting with us the night before for the marriage license (so we didn't have to worry about it on the day of the wedding) to pouring the wedding party champagne while we were hiding away before the ceremony, Steve takes care of all the details. Steve is a personable, kind, sincere, and honest. He was a pleasure to work with and we are so grateful to him for helping to make our wedding day absolutely amazing. read more

I completely, totally adore Sonya and Steve. We used Sonya for our floral through our venues package (and then added some extras) and used Steve for our officiant. Floral: The flowers were exactly what I had envisioned. I was really bad at communicating my vision to Sonya but with the help of some pictures I brought along she figured out exactly what I was looking for. I know nothing about flowers or decorating so Sonya was my lifeline there. She constantly mentioned that she was keeping costs down even though I was pushing to spend more, spend more! She made a few flower change suggestions to keep down materials cost and recommended using some of the ceremony flowers to decorate our sweetheart table. In the end I was thrilled with my small bill and my awesome flowers. Sonya is extremely creative and it shows from the first meeting to the end product. Please note - our centerpieces and gazebo decorations were included in the cost of the venue package... we added on our bouquets, bouts, aisle hooks, extra arrangements, etc Officiant: Our original lower cost officiant reinforced the old saying, "You get what you pay for". We had to find a less flakey, more coherent officiant a few weeks before the wedding... so we booked Steve. He was great! I only spoke to him over the phone and email while setting up our ceremony details but he had all the details down. During our ceremony I put a little joke in there to get the guests laughing a bit and he delivered it perfectly! Overall, Steve was kind, well spoken, and professional. He even came to say bye after the ceremony was over. I felt bad because we forgot to invite him and his wife to the reception (etiquette and I like them). My only complaint is response time. Emails and calls sometimes get slow responses but it's worth it 100% and you can depend on them to call/email you back and then deliver in the end. I would (and will) recommend Sweet Pea Wedding Services to anyone looking for a great florist and/or officiant. read more

Sonya did a beautiful job on our wedding flowers. She was the florist that was included in our wedding package with Wedgewood Weddings at Eagle Ridge Golf Club. She did our bouquets, boutonnieres, table flowers, gazebo flowers and cake flowers. She truly made my dream bouquet and wedding flowers come true. Sonya was very friendly to work with and also gave us a lot of great wedding planning tips as well. She was also very responsive over email and worked with us to get the vases/pots we wanted to use. I highly recommend Sweet Pea Floral. read more

Revend Steve Beck officiated our wedding last month. After our first meeting with him, my now husband commented how amazingly personable Steve is. Our ceremony was beautiful. He incorporated our family into the ceremony and even had our moms and kids involved in the sand ceremony. So many compliments on the ceremony. Rev. Beck is an amazing officiant and incredible human. read more

Reverend Beck was a wonderful officiant! I had to plan everything remotely and both reverend Beck and his wife made the process very easy...he even agreed to a face time interview. He is very well spoken and many people asked me where I found him (Yelp and my secret :)). I couldn't have been happier with our ceremony and I would definitely recommend! read more

Sonya and Steve did our wedding in July 2010. Steve provided a customized wedding service that was so wonderful, our family and friends still talk about how great our minister was. Sonya provided us with the beautiful flowers, she made my vision come to life. They are both really easy to work with, they listen to you and also give some great suggests. They were both integral pieces in making our wedding as wonderful as it was. Thank you to both of them-highly recommended! :) read more

My husband and I met with him for the planning process he was warm and friendly and spend time getting to know us as a couple and as individuals over the span of two separate meetings. We love the process with Steve he provided copies of Prior ceremonies and encourage us to reflect on what we liked and disliked before crafting a ceremony for us based on our feedback. Thank you Rev Steve Beck for being our officiant on our special day. Rev. Steve Beck made the day perfect. His voice, his characteristic and demeanor is so humble and genuine, you can only have a great wedding with him. We did the sand ceremony and because our original bottle looked like a pirate booty bottle from Jack Sparrow's collection in Pirates of the Caribbean, Rev. Beck gave us a great deal with what he had and trust me, its a beautiful set. The color selection he has is mind blowing. Rehearsal is super fast and simple because well, we followed his instructions and it was very, very easy to follow. During our wedding, we had a hiccup with our sound system and Rev. Beck played it off so easily, he made it as if we had no issues. That's experience, calmness and professionalism for you at the highest notch. Thank you again Rev. Steve Beck for being our officiant and making our day truly amazing. read more

I met with Steve yesterday in Morgan hill after he kindly met us closer to our location when we mistakenly had planned for a later time (an hour later than expected arrival) . Off the bat, he was a friendly, professional, yet personable guy. In fact he was so easy to talk to that I was surprised it was our first time meeting in person. He set our fears aside and I feel that I will be very confident standing up there with him by our side. He talked to us about how he is a devoted Father and loves to take care of his family. I couldn't help myself but ended up getting even more excited that one day after my wedding I too will have kids and like Steve will thrive in telling people they mean the World. Great family guy , and great overall steward. Thanks Steve ! Can't wait to see you coming up . God bless! read more

I'll admit that I'm not really a "flowers" kind of girl, but as far as wedding decorations go, flowers are the easiest way to make a place look nicer. Sonya did an excellent job with arrangements for our wedding. I wanted a clean, modern look to our flowers, and Sonya delivered this perfectly with pomanders, calla lilies in round glass bowls, and hand-tied calla lily bouquets that fit our budget. We enjoyed our consultation with Sonya so much that when plans for our original officiant fell through, we decided to give her husband Steve a call to officiate. (He's also an officiant through Wedgewood.) I'm a sucker for husband-wife teams. :) I'm going to add my 5-star review here for Steve since I don't see a separate Yelp listing for him here. Steve has clearly been doing this wedding officiant thing for a long time. He understood the tone that we wanted (a balance between religious and secular wording), and when we discussed alternatives to the unity candle (not recommended for outdoor ceremonies!), he had suggested a wine ceremony for us which we absolutely loved and recommend (if only because the process of selecting your own ceremony wines is fun!). For all the unity ceremonies, he'll provide everything you need, so that's one less thing you can worry about the day of the wedding. Thanks, Sonya and Steve! You two make a fantastic team, and Wedgewood is lucky to have you. :) read more

We discovered Sweet Pea as a result of a search for wedding officiants and had originally planned just to use Steve Beck as our officiant. We could not have been more pleased with Steve -- he has such a pleasant demeanor and our ceremony was spot on. Since this was a second marriage for both of us, he suggested we have a "sand ceremony" that would symbolize the blending our families. I can't say enough how much we appreciated his style. We had ordered flowers from another vendor and decided at the last minute to order some centerpieces. Sonja was able to pull together floral at the last minute that matched our original flower arrangements right on. You would not have noticed the difference between the two arrangements. I highly recommend their services and now wish that I had used them for photography as well. read more

Floral- Our wedding package with Wedgewood included our centerpieces through Sonya. She was great to work with! My fiance and I met with her about 4 months before our wedding. We described the look we were going for and gave her a rundown of everything we already had in the works (dress styles and colors, etc ...) From there she came up with beautiful centerpieces for us. We also decided on my bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. She was able to work with our budget to give us everything we wanted. Normally at Eagle Ridge the ceremony takes place outside at the gazebo. Our wedding was at 6:00 in the evening in December and I wanted an indoor ceremony. She came up with the idea to line our aisle with large glass containers with floating candles. On our wedding day the ceremony decorations were perfect. I absolutely LOVED my bridesmaids bouquets. The centerpieces were better than I could have imagined. But unfortunately, I have to admit, I hated my bridal bouquet. Originally I had discussed all ivory hydrangea and roses for all the bouquets. I sort of feel like I was talked out of the hydrangea and went with all roses for my bouquet. It was a fail. I wish I would have stuck to what I knew I wanted. Overall Sonya was great and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. Officiant- Steve is a true professional. We met with Steve two months before mour wedding and went over the whole ceremony. He basically recited the entire thing from memory for us, asking us questions along the way and making notes on what we would like changed or personalized. My fiance an I already had two children together and wanted to find a way to include them in our ceremony. He suggested a family sand ceremony. I always thought sand ceremonies were kind of cheesy, but we decided to go ahead and try it. He really impressed us and made us feel very comfortable. On our wedding day the ceremony was beautiful. BUT... A few of the changes we discussed in our meeting didn't happen. We gave him a copy of a reading we wanted included in our ceremony and it was skipped over. We also gave him a personalized reading for our ring exchange, he just recited the one he had memorized. Those two details aside, our ceremony was really moving. All of our guests loved the sand ceremony. Everyone commented on how impressed they were that he didn't read anything at all. It was very nice. It wasn't exactly what we wanted. But nobody knew anything was wrong and no one will really remember those little details anyway. we were very happy to have Steve play such an important role for our big day. read more

Steve was so professional, kind, and experienced. We had to change our wedding because of Covid and his knowledge and direction was invaluable. Rev Steve officiated our wedding this month with Wedgewood Weddings at the Eagle Ridge location in Gilroy, Ca. It was a wonderful ceremony. Sonya at Sweet Pea was great and so helpful! We had our reception and ceremony at Eagle Ridge and through the package include Sweet Pea as our Floral provider. The experience with Sonya went smoothly. We had our first meeting with her right after we had our meeting with I Do Wedding Cakes which was perfect because we live in Mountain view and driving to Morgan hill is a drag when you are driving on the 101. She had pictures prepared to give you an idea of where to go with the flowers, asked what color theme the wedding was heading and we choose blue, which she then showed us what she think would work and it came up so beautiful. We had our ceremony there as well so she decorated the Gazebo with 3 floral arrangements around the gazebo and it looked great, completely covered and looked vibrant. When it comes to the centerpieces I was more than thrilled, I'm not really a fan of just a floral arrangement, and she suggested a vase/water/flower/stones centerpiece which came our beautifully. It was a long vase with submerged orquids and stones and with a tea light floating. :) so cute. My bouquet was so gorgeous, she added blue accents and a bit of soft lavender to make it pop. good size not so heavy. My bridesmaids had corsages (a bit out of the norm) due to the fact tha we had 10 groomsmen to 5 bridesmaids and it was a 2-1 ratio and it would of looked weird for them to hold bouquets. the corsages were very pretty and vibrant, only thing was that they were a bit heavy and would shift all the time and they had to be turning it over. The boutonniere's were symmetrical to the corsages, beautiful. Overall my experience with sweet pea was hastle free and I'm delighted with the outcome. Pictures looked great and communication with Sonya was a breeze. read more

Sonya did our flower arrangements for our wedding as a Wedgewood vendor, and we were very happy with her services. She worked with our budget helping my wife to get the flowers that she wanted under the price that we could afford. I am a guy, so I am not too much into flowers, but I know that my wife, mother, and sister all lowed the flower arrangements, and that says a lot to me :) read more

Sonya and Steve are wonderful. Sonya did our flowers and she matched my vision perfectly for my bouquet, my girls' bouquets, the boutonnieres, the centerpieces for all of the tables and the floral spread on the gazebo. I told her what I was envisioning, and she replicated it perfectly. I know that sometimes people will want to put their own spin on things, but with a wedding you want what the couple envisions, and she did that perfectly. I'll post a picture of my bouquet. It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Only thing is I didn't get a mini bouquet to through during the bouquet toss so I had to throw one of my bridesmaid's bouquets. Oh, also, Sonya works with the cake-baker at Wedgewood, so our cake had our flowers on it and it looked SO Awesome!! Steve was delightful. He got to know us before the wedding so he could cater the ceremony to how we are. He's a great, down-to-earth guy, and definitely kept us smiling throughout the ceremony (not that we wouldn't be, but you know what I mean). I recommend them both to whoever gets married anywhere. They're amazing. read more

Steve was our officiant at our wedding a few weeks ago. He was very confident and lead a beautiful secular ceremony just the way we had requested. Steve was very flexible with our terribly busy schedules. He included a "wine ceremony" that was really sweet and very appropo as we got married at Guglielmo winery. As my sister said, "the ceremony was beautifully done and it was not all about the officiant"! Highly recommend Steve for your wedding. read more

WOW! We were so fortunate to have Steve as our officiant. He is so professional, funny, and nice. He made it very easy to decide how our ceremony would flow and helped us with different ideas to make it unique. He made is so easy to ensure that everyone was well prepared for the wedding. He gave us the option of doing a bourbon barrel blending ceremony to include in our wedding. It was perfect for us and our wedding guests LOVED it. This review is strictly for Sonya, our florist for ER (Eagle Ridge). Sweet Pea Floral came with our wedding package at ER. My husband and I met up with Sonya once for a consultation which lasted two hours! Yes, it was a bit longer than expected, but it was worth it since Sonya was extremely thorough with everything. She showed me different pictures of centerpieces she made, and was open to the centerpieces I wanted. On the day of, I was happy with our simple, clean and crisp centerpieces of different colored tulips. We also talked about bouquets for boutonnière, but we decided to not use her. That was my only regret with Sonya... I wish I had since I would've been a lot happier with the bouquet and boutonniere if I went through her. Steve officiated my wedding in September and I am so glad we picked him to do so. He gave great instructions pre-ceremony, practicing with the whole family. This review is strictly for Steve Beck. I reached out to Steve last year to set up a consultation with him. I called left a VM heard nothing... couple weeks went by so I sent a follow up email... heard nothing. I eventually called back and I believe I left a message indicating the lack of response thus far and would appreciate a call back. I finally received a call back and Steve was extremely nice and apologized for the delay and we booked a consultation with him. Unfortunately, we waited on the day of our meeting for about 30 minutes before calling Steve to verify that he was indeed coming. He answered and said that he thought it was scheduled for another day.... Ok, as a bride this does not make me confident in moving forward with this person. If you can't return phone calls/emails and make our scheduled meeting time??? What makes me confident you can make our wedding day? I just feel as though this is bad business. With that said!! I just learned that they are a husband & wife team. Although, we have not met Sonya yet, her reviews on yelp are amazing so I have hope. I am however, extremely skeptical. So I am EXTREMELY nervous about using these services. I don't want to have to worry about whether or not I can count on them to make our day.... Long sigh... wish us luck! read more

Sonya & Steve are the best! A real pleasure to work with! It was obvious from our first meeting that Sonya really knew her stuff. She was able to grasp my concept and turn it into reality even with my little knowledge of flowers. Everything came out beautifully.. She paid the greatest attention to detail possible.. She made sure I made time to smell the roses literally and get a chance to take it all in! Steve was pretty much the same! He was very informative and easy going. What was really great about Steve is he took the responsibility for everything. We gave him the rings, our vows and he literally walked us through the entire ceremony without having a rehearsal beforehand. His prompts were great! I felt so relaxed and at ease which was priceless on the big day! I am so happy we decided to go with Sonya and Steve and think they are fabulous individuals and professionals!
