I had called 2 photographers in Gilroy for my wedding, and while Michael was about $500 more expensive than the other one - I realized that getting photographs of the day in the style I preferred was worth the extra expense. We had a few phone conversations and he worked me up a price for the wedding day. (I was not going to need engagement photos OR actual prints). My price included X hours of his time at the ceremony, his retouching/sorting of shots, and then posting ALL photos for me to download. Michael was very pleasant and engaging on the phone and was another vendor that I knew I could count on (whew). You pay 1/2 as a deposit and the other half a few days before the wedding. I met him about 30 mins before the ceremony and he was already shooting away. I had supplied him with a shot list, some photo styles I liked, and a couple other specifics (like that I wanted shots of all the food at my wedding). He covered all of those off. I had also told him I really wanted the group shots to be FAST FAST so I could get them done and enjoy my reception. Now I don't remember all of it, but I recall those shots maybe took 20 mins - which might be a world record. My cake cutting turned out to be after his time ran out - but he was a trooper and stayed the extra time without charging me. In the end there were nearly 700 shots posted for us to download! Everyone always tells you that the day is a blur, and they were right, I barely remember a thing! Thank goodness I have a record of the day with 700 photos. Highly recommend.

Being a Big Sur/Monterey local, Adam provided extremely helpful insight and feedback for my proposal. He definitely helped relieve a lot of the stress during the planning phase of my proposal. On the day of the actual shoot, the day-of jitters was overwhelming at times, but Adam's energy and demeanor was very centering. He was patient and gave my new fiancee and I space to calm ourselves, and also knew when to take charge and guide us with our poses. He also had amazing and creative ideas for how to pose and brought us to local, reclusive spots to take intimate photos. She made no effort to make things right or apologize for us having a bad experience. Edited review: In 2019, I took my first born when he was 2 weeks old to Rebecca to get some shots for a birth announcement. We went in for a shoot, she said it would be a few hundred $ for the shoot. We didn't ask for it, but she really wanted to do a "classic" naked baby shoot with him asleep. We should have just said no thank you. In hindsight, this is obvious, but we ended up getting pee'd and poo'd on. We had to leave, as we didn't have any more clean clothes. She offered to have us back a week later, which was nice. We came back, and the baby was more cooperative. 3 weeks later, she has us come in and review the photos, they looked great! She wanted to sell us prints. We were only interested in the digitals, we should have asked about this before the shoot. We only found out that the digitals would be more than a thousand $ additional after the shoot. It left us feeling pretty sour because our baby was now 6 weeks old, and we had no choice but to pay her. The photos came out nice, and everyone loved the birth announcement, but I still think about the bad experience we had when I look at them. New: I've now hired professional photographers for all 3 of my babies, and I have context to be confident that there are better options elsewhere that include digital in their base price, and don't have a dated business model that assumes you are buying prints.

We decided to do a cake smash Photoshoot for our baby's 1 year birthday. After seeing the many cute…read morecake smash backgrounds that Tangram Studio had, we decided to book with them! Ted was very responsive and we were able to book an appointment for the following week (we took a day off in the middle of the week). We also decided to do the add on for family and pets. I LOVE that there's an option to include our furry family members! As much as I tried to plan ahead and get to the studio in time that day, my baby decided to fight his nap that morning. He eventually fell asleep.. but way too close to the time we had to leave. I reached out to Ted ASAP to ask if there was flexibility to push the photoshoot back a bit so my baby could take an hour nap so he's less likely to be fussy during the photoshoot. He had another scheduled shoot after ours but was flexible for us to come a bit later than scheduled which I was very grateful for! When we got to the studio, the cake smash background was already set up! The studio was so clean! There was a room for us to change the baby and put all our stuff in - there was also a changing table and diaper pail in there! Ted and his assistant were so great with our dogs and baby! They were patient and knew how to get our baby to laugh and look at the camera. There were a few times where I was ready to give up because handling a baby and two dogs for a photoshoot was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be! Ted was so patient with them and continuing to try his best to take the perfect shot for us. I really appreciated that because there were some amazing photos we would have missed out on if not for Ted! Cleanup was super easy - we brought wipes to wipe our baby down and then took him to the bathroom to do a quick rinse before leaving. I was surprised that we got our proof gallery two days later! The unedited proof gallery pictures were honestly high quality and I would not have known they were unedited if they didn't tell me! We received our edited photos 2 weeks later. I was so happy with the fast turnaround time! I asked Ted if he could fix my hair in the family pictures and he was able to do so for me (thank you!!). I'd absolutely come back for another photoshoot in the future and would highly recommend Tangram!

She has a great sense of direction to capture natural light in candid timeless moments, to be treasured forever. We first booked Patricia for our maternity session, 6 years ago, and have been using her for all of our family photos ever since: Newborn session, smash cake, first birthday party and every year, we try taking advantage of the 2 pre-booked sessions (Mommy & Me and the Fall Session, which is announced on her social media) - usually it happens in April and September/October. I highly recommend taking advantage of it as I find these to be very convenient, by keeping us on a schedule to get us captured twice a year, around the same time - it's a lot of fun to look back and see how much we have all changed in a 6 month period and through the years. Her photos are stunning and I always end up getting them all, instead of the pre-booked plan :) We will continue using Patricia for many more years to come. The more we work with her, the better we know each other's style and angles and the more comfortable we get with the camera.
