Patricia is so patient and she was able to lull him to a deep sleep and pose him however we wanted. I also had a few random prop requests that she happily worked into the shoot. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and made the entire experience enjoyable. The photos themselves are fabulous. I am so glad I made the decision to get newborn photos taken and am grateful we found Patricia to do then. I also appreciate her no fuss package. You pay a fee, you get all the photos. Done. So many other photographers I looked into had convoluted packages where you had a session fee that only got you a few photos, the rest had to be purchased for a ridiculous price (not exactly what you want to be navigating a week after giving birth). I highly recommend taking advantage of it as I find these to be very convenient, by keeping us on a schedule to get us captured twice a year, around the same time - it's a lot of fun to look back and see how much we have all changed in a 6 month period and through the years. Her photos are stunning and I always end up getting them all, instead of the pre-booked plan :) We will continue using Patricia for many more years to come. After going through dozens of photographer profiles on Yelp and feeling thoroughly overwhelmed, I stumbled upon the reviews for Khushboo at Shutter Magic. Almost EVERY review mentioned how Khushboo made people feel comfortable and relaxed before and during their photoshoots. That was all I needed to hear. I was sold! And what an incredible experience it has been, right from Day 1! First, Khushboo has the dreamiest collection of maternity outfits. She encouraged me to try styles I would never have picked for myself, and patiently let me try on different options until I found the ones I loved. She also connected me with makeup and nail artists and even helped my partner choose his outfit. She genuinely took so much of the planning off my plate! Then came the location. I had a very specific kind of setting in mind, and Khushboo went above and beyond to find it. Not only did she scout locations that matched what I was looking for, she also visited new spots and managed to find places with beautiful flowers. In the FALL. In the BAY AREA!! I still don't know how she pulled that off! A couple of hours before the shoot, she was already checking in on me, reminding me to rest and hydrate, cheering me on as I got my makeup done, and generally getting me excited for something I had initially been quite nervous about. Safety: As a mother, I have taken extra precautions during this pandemic so I was skeptical at first to book a photographer- but Yesenia has always ensured we feel safe as she creates a safe environment. She has kept her mask on for every shoot we have had with her, she disinfects all the items before use. Even now that she is fully vaccinated she keeps her mask on and constantly cleans her hands. Christmas Shoot: I first booked her when she was offering a Christmas mini in 2019. My husband, son, and our dog Moo showed up to the session at a park in the city. Yesenia was invited and warm as she helped us pose alongside the props she had. Also noted was that she was wearing a mask and disinfected the items we used as props in front of us before the shoot. I loved the pictures she took of us for Christmas that for the first time in a long time, I sent out Christmas cards! Pregnancy Shoot: I did not think I would ever have another child so when I became pregnant in 2020 I was ecstatic & quickly knew I wanted to well document this journey. I reached out to Yesenia right away, she congratulated me and told me when the most ideal pregnancy period was to take maternity pictures. I booked a spot for I was about 34 weeks pregnant. Before the shoot, Yesenia called me to discuss the color scheme, pictures I wanted to recreate, family portrait options, and the details of what I needed to take to the shoot that day. After our call, she sent me a detailed list of what to expect during the shoot and how I could prepare. When we arrived at the studio she made us feel comfortable as we took family pictures and then more intimate pregnancy pictures. My pictures came out so good everyone was in awe at how beautifully Yesenia captured that moment. Newborn Shoot: So of course I reached out to her again when my son was born. And as always she was great. She had everything in the studio prepared for our pictures. Yesenia even takes extra steps to ensure the newborn is comfortable the entire shoot. After reviewing our concerns, they acknowledged that the photos were poor quality and initially refunded us $700. Our contract also included a USB containing all of our wedding photos, which we never received. When I contacted Nancy about it, she advised me that it would be better to leave the photos in the online gallery. I trusted her recommendation. However, only a few weeks later, all of our wedding photos were deleted. Nancy later told me that her daughter had accidentally deleted them and agreed to issue a full refund. She then changed her mind and claimed that I had chosen not to receive the USB--even though she was the one who advised me to keep the photos online. We received only 175 photos, many of which were poor quality, repeated two or three times, overly zoomed in, or showed people partially cut out. When I tried printing the photos, it said they were low quality and they would print blurry. We gave them several opportunities to resolve this matter fairly and honor their agreement. Instead, they stopped responding to our emails. Wedding photos are irreplaceable, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend this business.
