We had this Korean traditional ceremony where our parents gave us blessings with chestnuts and dates. Chef Andrea customized hors d'oeuvre to be roasted chestnut crostini. We also had desserts with them - chocolate chestnut cakes & a family-recipe date bar. It was awesome. Many people complimented our food, and it made me very happy because food is such an important factor in our lives (I am Korean and we live in NYC - food is all we care about haha). Students of culinary school prepared and served our food - it was such an honor to have those enthusiasm and joy on our big day. The venue comes with the day of coordinator - Chrissy. We'd also like to give a special shoutout to the golf cart drivers--every single one we've had has been incredibly friendly, polite, and made getting around the resort such a pleasant experience. We love all of the nearby restaurants, and this time we finally had the chance to try Sanderlings. The food was delicious!! The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, but our favorite part is the direct beach access. The beach is always clean, peaceful, and the perfect place to relax and unwind. Seascape has become a special place for us, and we can't wait to continue making memories here. We'll definitely be back!

A very disappointing return to a resort that once meant so much to our family…read more We've been coming to Seascape for more than 10 years, and I have so many childhood memories here. I returned hoping my kids would experience the same feeling, but unfortunately, our recent one-night stay was a major disappointment. We paid approximately $600 for Room #614. We specifically requested the 600s but were initially assigned a room in the 400s before eventually being moved. The room had far too many issues for the price: filthy floors that turned our bare feet black, a filthy master bedroom deck, a broken front-door lock, no AC, TVs that didn't work, a strange smell upstairs, uncomfortable furniture, a loose shelf, dusty fan, poor-quality utensils, and no basic items like potholders or sharp knives. The food pricing was also difficult to justify: a kids' chicken nugget and fries meal was around $45, while my burger was $38 without fries. The beach access and ocean views are still beautiful, but those positives don't make up for the overall decline in cleanliness, maintenance, and service. It genuinely makes me sad to see a place that meant so much to our family change this much. We were local and only stayed one night, but I would be hesitant to recommend an extended stay under the current conditions.

The house itself is big and inviting with hip old timey jazz pipedor more modern-day chanteuses gently piped in. Enclosed porch for reading or just relaxing. Our room had a private porch, too. So much here. So many ways to really unwind. Walking around the grounds is inspiring. I ran into Derek a time or two who was relaxed but busy on the many projects that keep him focused here. The heater worked well and the kitchen was clean and worked well for re-heating. We had great support from Patti Anderson (through SC Parks) in the booking process and on the day of the event. I would highly recommend Valencia Hall for a similar event. One tip: we had no cell reception at the Hall (though there is a land line); make sure to have guests print directions/map in advance.
