He nearly pushed me into the other lane and by the grace of God, there were no oncoming cars. The other driver did receive the citation because he failed to yield my right of way. I literally couldn't drive for like 2 weeks because of the shock of such a hit I could not see coming. The driver at the time sat in his car with his head down without checking to see whether I was even okay. Come to find out, HE DOESNT SPEAK A WORD OF ENGLISH. He threw a fit on the scene with the other officers while they maintained their patience, told him to calm down and did their police work. The guy had his personal car insurance but come to find out, he did Uber Eats so now Uber Eats insurance (Progressive) would cover all the damages including, providing me with a rental vehicle. Enterpise gave me the same car I drive but in a different color but something im already familiar with. I received the estimate amount from Progressive and got plenty of estimates from different body shops until I ran across Mercy Paint & Body Shop in Hialeah, FL. Carlos did an excellent job with analyzing and spent a great amount of time reviewing my vehicle. He gave me a break down of the cost of each part and labor and gave me the total. He gave me a super affordable price and treated my car with great care! Not a scratch, not a dent, no mismatched color. I highly recommend him for body work. I arrived about 15 minutes prior to the meeting time - she was not there and arrived almost an hour later with the one vehicle - Kia. It was raining - had been raining for days. The Kia was absolutely filthy inside and outside - I said it's fine, I can clean it. I bought this vehicle in a hurray, the same day - my first mistake. Fast forward I drove off in the Kia and it was about a month later that I finally managed to clean & wash the car myself because I re-located to West Palm Beach - apart from the fact that it rained most days in 09/2025 since I purchased the Kia. When I decided to wash the exterior of the car, I discovered that the ENTIRE BODY and fittings were like sand paper - who feels the paint work of a vehicle - again it was raining. I immediately contacted Carlos & Ana when I discovered this on Wednesday 09/15/2025. I was told they would get back to me - nobody did. It does not take three days to "set-up a polishing of the vehicle. Furthermore, the car had been in an accident - I was told that. I further - on closer inspection (yeah should have done that at the time) discovered that the panels against the dash of the driver and passenger side were also "gone". Parts gone on the vehicle - yes I have no recourse. When signing I was not alerted to the fact that I'm buying the Kia voets-stoots (as is) surely would have looked over it more finely otherwise. I confirmed verbally that - should I have any issues in a reasonable time, they would accommodate me. No such luck. Very bad experience - Carlos also enlightened me that he does insurance repairs - which is deceiving because I automatically assumed him to be a reputable panel beater. I was told IN NO UNCERTAIN terms too, that only the bonnet of the Kia was resprayed. I have subsequently been informed by another dealer that this is not true and that the vehicle was sprayed basically all over. I have already spent quite a bit of money to sort out this vehicle. I'm certainly disappointed and was 100% mislead and deceived. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE people - both "Mercy Paint and Body Shop" & "Helen Auto Sales" - it's a husband & wife "set-up. For some reason, I was having some issues with sensors in my car popping up on the dashboard. I took it in, they looked at it, quickly gave me a fresh loaner, brand new XC40 (man that thing is zippy!), and I was on my way. The new sensor delivery took longer than expected, this was around the holiday times, and Juan Mesa at customer service kept me updated perfectly. He expected quicker turnaround, told me the bad news when there was a delay, didn't sugar coat it, and just kept me up to date. We are getting the car back today, and I don't know if I explained it properly, but Juan's overall demeanor and just being on top if it was refreshing, as most companies aren't like that these days!!! Either they don't know what they're doing or they scam people, so either way you can't trust them. I brought my car in after having all my brakes replaced by a very skilled and knowledgeable mechanic who unfortunately lives very far from me. After a few weeks of having replaced them, I was getting a horrible screeching sound coming from ONE of them. Since I didn't want to drive my car far away to have it looked at, I looked for a shop with good reviews. I called this place and asked when I could have that one brake (and I told him MAYBE one other one but only specified one) looked at. They told me noon. So I dropped it off at 11:30 thinking they'll find the problem and get back to me that day. Nope, I had to leave my car overnight. When I dropped it off I asked what they charge to find the problem. He said we don't charge for that. It was 5 pm and they close at 6 and I hadn't heard anything so I called. He told me he drove it and heard what I did and was going to have to open up the brake to take a look (that's what I expected when I asked how much they charged to figure out the issue). He said this is when he told me about paying for labor and he probably did and I misunderstood since no one can literally just "look" and figure out what's wrong. Anyway, the next day when they called me to see what I wanted to do, they quoted me like $940! Saying I should replace all the brakes and they couldn't find the issue aside from that they were rusted (surface rust which is normal even with new ones). ???? I told them it was grossly overpriced. I've never paid that much for brakes and honestly, it's not that big of a deal to figure out what's going on for a good mechanic. It's just brakes. So I told them to send me a quote for the ONE brake that was giving me the noise which I originally said to check out. Still came back to $350. I said there's no way I'm paying that much so I was just going to pick my car up and I'd figure it out. Before I hung up they said $130 for the labor to take them apart to look at them. No work was actually done aside from taking all 4 brakes apart (remember I never told them to do that) and there was not even an answer as to what the problem was. So my regular mechanic that I can trust drove down to check it out. He figured it out in less than 10 minutes by just taking off the tire; didn't have to take the brake apart. It was just a clip that was expanding with the heat and scratching the rotor. He fixed that and no more problem. So like I said, either they don't know what they're doing or they're being dishonest. Either way, save yourself the headache and money and find another place.

On June 6, 2026, I decided to trade in my K5 and went to Kia of Homestead, where I purchased a 2026 Sportage. The monthly payment wasn't exactly what I wanted, but that's something that can happen. My bad experience started with the trade-in. My K5 had positive equity, and I was told I would receive a $1,000 refund check within two weeks or less. To make a long story short, I've called several times, and nobody seems to know anything about the check. No one can give me a clear answer. I also called Kia Finance, and they confirmed that my previous vehicle was paid off a while ago, but they don't know anything about a refund check either. My advice is simple: if you want to avoid this kind of experience, sell your trade-in to a company like CarMax instead. They pay you on the spot, and then you can take your money and buy the car you want from any dealership. This won't happen to me again. I won't be doing business with Kia of Homestead in the future. I feel very disappointed and misled by the way this situation has been handled.
