Dropped off some items that we wanted to donate. The staff were very nice and even helped us with removal from our car.

Weird experience. Manager tried charging me more then tried to take item away. I was looking at an old organizer case (with smaller organizer containers within) and the manager hovered over me while I was looking at it. I was interested in buying it and was debating buying the second one (without the smaller containers) but as I went to keep shopping and think about it he stopped me and said he needed to "reprice it" because he made a mistake. He wanted to make it more expensive because of the smaller organizers that came with the case. I indicated the sign that said no repricing and that the one without the internal containers was cheaper (indicating it was already priced to include the smaller containers) he proceeded to open it up (while I was still holding it) and taking the smaller containers out saying that he would sell them individually. Had to talk him into keeping it together and at the original price. Annoying experience. Unlikely to come back, would rather go to East Bay Depot in Oakland where the prices are better and staff friendlier. read more

This place is such a gem to have in Berkeley. It is compact and loosely organized, so if you have something specific in mind, you will likely find it with some patience. Beads, stamps, scissors, tape, thread, doodads, notebooks, binders, etc--there are so many items that I will never need to buy new, for good prices. I was looking for a spool of translucent heavy duty nylon to tie down balloons. So specific, and yet I found one! I recently toured a waste transfer facility, and we Americans make a lot of trash. I am so glad we have this reuse shop to reduce waste. The store accepts donations of art, office, sewing, and general creativity supplies. read more

The selection is incredible. Prices are a little high for some items, but you can truly find anything here. I walked away with old slides, a set of risqué drink coasters , yarn, stencils, jewelry... and am still sad about the things I left behind, weeks later. I was so impressed with the collection. read more

This place was recommended to me, so I decided to visit since I was in the area (just in time since October is #ZeroWasteMonth). I had a greeting card whose matching envelope was torn, so I was hoping this place would have a match. The entrance has some cool artwork, and the place was filled to the brim with items - some new, some used. Passageways are a little bit narrow so be mindful of large bags. The place even had items that I wouldn't consider art-related, like toys and DVD's. As with many reuse/thrift stores, some digging around and treasure-hunting may be necessary. Ultimately, I was able to find a match for my envelope! So if you find yourself in a similar situation, don't despair. Reuse for Arts & Crafts is here! read more

Amazing selection. Frida, the owner, is so kind and helpful! Will definitely be back.

The prices are as posted. I was disappointed they wouldn't negotiate. Good for kids art supplies and board games.

A great place to stop in and get acquainted with. They have all sorts of things. Besides fabric, thread, buttons, beads, magnifying lenses, office supply-type equipment (non-guillotine slider paper slicer), paper stuff, plus some very interesting odds and ends such as a patented small metal sewing ruler with interesting cut-outs as guidemarks for sewing or paper crafting. I wish I'd known about this place when I needed just one water-soluble marker and had to buy the whole set elsewhere. read more

Phenomenal resource for finding cheap and good art supplies...they do a great job of repurposing materials

Love this place! So many treasures for artists of all kinds. Had a delightful conversation with the owner. Will definitely be back!

The idea of this place is really cool. Unfortunately it is really overwhelming and cramped. I think if things were better organized I would feel more comfortable shopping, but I had to move 5-6 different times to let one of the owners (or employee. Not sure) walk past me. There's not enough room for two people to stand in the same area so it's hard to look through the products. read more

If creative re-use makes you happy, this is a very happy place to go and be inspired by. In some ways it feels like shopping in an extension of an artist's studio or storage space - a tremendous gift on the owner's part, and an unusual retail experience to say the least. If you grew up with artists in the family and enjoyed learning about new art techniques by seeing all the nifty materials they left around the house, this place can feel like home. If you are in a creative mood, you could easily spend a few hours here without a firm plan of what you're looking for! Bring your craft-loving friends or family visiting from out of town! read more

What an AMAZING store! Half rescued/recycled stuff, half gallery for the owners (I totally forgot to get her name - I'm so sorry!) own awesome sculptures and paintings, it's like stepping into a whimsical wonderland. There is so much stuff, but she and her husband keep it clean and organized. You could probably find anything you could possibly need for a project here, from knitting to books, painting to leather and candle scraps, school supplies, frames, conventional and unconventional materials alike. Seriously I won't ever have to buy new again. Prices are good - I bought several canvases, a few odds & ends and someone's funky old pastel drawing all for $20. It was so much fun exploring this shop and talking with the owner. If you like digging through stuff or need supplies or just want to look at the owners art, go check it out! read more

A great initiative by a planet-loving individual who decided to do something to divert usable items from landfills. Reuse For Arts & Crafts - Made by Frida herself! Gorgeous work - Arts & Crafts Near Me - Berkeley, California

What a treasure!! I found out about this shop after another recycle/reuse business couldn't take much of my stuff (art glass, foam core, etc.). Frida took most of what I had, but that was really just the cherry on the sundae. Her store is a charming mix of whimsical and beautiful handmade art (made by Frida) as well as, well, pretty much any other item you might imagine in such a store. Antiques, buttons, bolts of fabric, vintage records, beads and jewelry, etc. etc. Definitely an artist's paradise, but also with a clear and strong ethos around the value and importance of reuse and love of the planet. Great place to take kiddos for art project supplies. During a time when I've felt scared and disappointed about the direction our world is going, this was a much-needed breath of fresh air. It can't be an easy place to sustain, but it's such an important one. Great place to bring any trinkets you don't know what to do with and great place to support in any way possible. read more
