Left: My greeting card that needed an envelope Right: The envelope I found at the store

This place was recommended to me, so I decided to visit since I was in the area (just in time since October is #ZeroWasteMonth). I had a greeting card whose matching envelope was torn, so I was hoping this place would have a match. The entrance has some cool artwork, and the place was filled to the brim with items - some new, some used. Passageways are a little bit narrow so be mindful of large bags. The place even had items that I wouldn't consider art-related, like toys and DVD's. As with many reuse/thrift stores, some digging around and treasure-hunting may be necessary. Ultimately, I was able to find a match for my envelope! So if you find yourself in a similar situation, don't despair. Reuse for Arts & Crafts is here!

    Great idea in theory

The idea of this place is really cool. Unfortunately it is really overwhelming and cramped. I think if things were better organized I would feel more comfortable shopping, but I had to move 5-6 different times to let one of the owners (or employee. Not sure) walk past me. There's not enough room for two people to stand in the same area so it's hard to look through the products.

Super friendly and helpful staff pose with peace signs in the entry way of Reuse Arts & Crafts in Berkeley. Take your donations here!

I am the owner of Bay Area Professional Organizer. I just dropped off a full SUV load of art/craft donations here yesterday after purging an art professor's studio. After 3 Professional Organizing sessions, my client donated an SUV load to Reuse for Art & Crafts in Berkeley, a trunk load to a homeless encampment in Oakland, a car load to Out of the Closet, a truck load of books to the local library, and has a massive recycling pile for pick up. Clear the Clutter for GOOD! Hire Bay Area Professional Organizer Co at BayAreaProfessionalOrganizer.com. I provide free donation haul away of art/craft supplies and items to homeless encampments to make their lives easier. This place is an awesome place to donate to! Super friendly and helpful staff! And I was able to pull up directly in front and unload effortlessly through the front door! Seamless! Pun intended.

This is Michael's for Found Artists! Frieda, the owner, is there primarily to sell her own found art, primitives, and jewelry. She also has acres of clean well curated bits and pieces for sale that would supply both the established and aspiring found artist. Wander through the wonder!

I love going to this art and craft store. It has so many options for art making and up-cycle gift giving. Please support this family owned business. The shop owners are very kind and offer hand made decorations or decorating for all kinds of celebrations.

Anyone who walks through these doors sees the magic behind the owners work and dedication to helping our planet! I love it here, anyone who walks in will find something for everyone

The prices are as posted. I was disappointed they wouldn't negotiate. Good for kids art supplies and board games.

I can also donate my art stuff that I don't use any more and I know that it won't end up in a landfill, unused.

I went to the front and offered to take the CDs they were sending to the landfill. I stated I had boxes with me - the staff seemed amenable however when the manage Claudio was asked he overruled them and stated "no" - the CDs are now on the landfill - I have a machine to resurface discs, a press to flatten creased artwork and thousands of cases - however a company who's catch phrase is "zero waste" dumped" thousands of perfectly salvageable items. I contacted Urban Ore via email, via messaging and tagged them in social media as well as posting on their own FB page - no response. People donate items to Urban Ore thinking they think they are keeping them out of the landfill - the behavior of Claudio shows that this is a lie and Urban Ore appears to be a scam.

They even have scrap glass for mosaic or stained glass projects. We ended up purchasing some drum rings, as well as an awesome tote bag for just five bucks. The line at the front counter gets long at times, but it moves quickly with helpful workers making sure everything goes smoothly. You can even cut the line if you're paying with cash. No returns are allowed on items such as electronics and clothing. Dogs are welcome inside, with countless signs posted noting that it's not a poop and pee zone. There's also a sign near the toy section stating "unattended children will be given candy and a free puppy."
