When I brought the item back, the cashier did not offer an apology until I expressed the embarrassment of gifting an expired thing. The lack of accountability and nonchalant-ness is unfortunate when I've spent so much money at that store. I went around and checked out some of their other perishable items and noticed that they, too, were expired. Before even walking in, you're greeted with just a beautiful mural on the outside of the building. Then when you walk in, you're greeted by this beautiful greenhouse and plants all around and then you go into the actual plant shop, and it just keeps on going in terms of places to sit, a cute little coffee bar, a very beautiful altar looking space in the back and a couple of little seating areas that are super Vibey and damn gorgeous and sexy. I'm IN LOVE with a plant shop. There isn't any space in this place where you just can't be in all of anything that your eye catches. Everything is intentional and my senses just soaked everything up that this plant shop had to offer. I already knew what planted I wanted to take home with me and I think it was meant to be because it was one of the first plants that I saw before going into the plant shop. It was almost as if I was meant to go here and pick her up and be her mom. While I was there, I also picked up some incense and linen spray because, why not? I ordered a cardamom matcha, which was recommended to me by Simone and I loved my drink. I took my time and drank it in the corner of the shop just soaking up the vibes and just being around it is gorgeous green beings that give off so much positive energy. I got there first thing in the morning when it opened at 10, super calm, and I was the only one in there looking and browsing. Service was excellent and vibes are 10/10. Returning? From the entrance to the back door, the space has been meticulously curated to be welcoming, refreshing, and a place of peace & refuge. I love the variety of foliage available, and was impressed by the education that the staff offered on each of the plants available for sale. One of my favorite aspects of this shop is the partnership with local businesses, where makers can display and sell their wares in a "pass through" fashion, with all proceeds going to the small business owners. What an outstanding way to build community and to provide real estate for micro businesses. Kudos to the staff and the creative team behind Blk Girls Green House! Job well done!

Considering the small space, the store has a surprisingly large selection of items and it's all well organized. When checking out, the cashier was friendly and rang me up quickly. When I'm looking for a greeting card, gift or needing to stock up on utensils/tools for the house and kitchen, I will come back to Palm + Perkins. Just a thoughtful, gem of a store in the neighborhood.

On this most recent visit, I went a couple days after Christmas and stocked up on holiday cards and ornaments for 2021 since all their holiday items were 50% off. The entire store was also 25% off as per their end-of-year sale. They have a fantastic selection of cards, gifts, homewares, jewelry, accessories, and select clothing items. The store is spacious and clean. Parking is a pain as it is located downtown. I love the shirt display as soon as you enter. In the back they have a dressing room for your convenience and also gear from other local artists. The young man who helped us provided great service and was knowledgeable about the product. The telephone booth is super cute to take photos. The prices are a little steep, but you really can't find a shop like this that has the bay gear and quality. I can't wait to wear my sweatshirt!
