I came from a bad experience with comfort dental and needed a second opinion on my daughter's fillings. When we walked in we were greeted with friendly staff. The office looked clean and organized. They took us in right away. The appointment was quick and efficient. Dr. Clemens explained clearly what needed to be done and made me feel comfortable and confident in continuing my daughters dental treatment with them him. I make a 30 minute drive and pass many dental offices in my area. I have tried other dental offices besides comfort dental but Retro Dental is more personable, professional and effective which makes the drive worth it knowing I'm getting great quality dental work. read more

I had called to make an appointment and talked to Ivan. My appointment was set for Thursday December 13th 2018 at 10 am. When I arrived the door was locked, as I was about to walk away a female employee opened the door and asked me what she could do for me? I informed her that I had an appointment for 10 am. I was told that they didn't do appointments on Thursdays and Ivan must of had made a mistake. She said that my appointment could be rescheduled and the earlier appointment was in mid January. I told her that was not going to work for me! She asked me if I was in pain and I replied that is why I am here and made an appointment. Personally I would had thought that would had been in their system seeing how Ivan and I had talked about all my oral problems. She looked in their system again and stated she had an opening for next Tuesday. I said no thanks I will find someone else because, due to the pain mostly but wasting my time I don't feel I want to take my chances with them. The main reason I picked Retro Dental Group is this is the company that took over for my past dentist which was the best IMHO. When I got home I looked on their website for their hours and this is what I found today. Address: 2993 S. Peoria Street Aurora, CO 80014 Phone: 303-696-6979 Email: retro.dental.aurora@gmail.com Practice Hours Mon: 7 am to 6 pm Tue: 7 am to 6 pm Wed: 7 am to 6 pm Thu: 7 am to 6 pm Fri: 8 am to 12 pm Sat-Sun: Closed I can't find where they are not seeing patients today. It is Thursday and it says on their website 7 am to 6 pm. How can I trust someone doing work in my mouth if they can not even update their website and give someone the right information so the patients time is not wasted? Seeing how it said they were open on their website and a google search I called them again. I talked to Barb and asked her why it in fact said they were open today. Her reply to me is that she is not in charge of the website and they are open for Admin stuff and to take calls and make appointments. This has to be the worst communication I have seen in my 52 yrs of life. Total disregard for my time and oral needs! read more

This dental office is looney Tunes ( no professional only students). The make you have an appointment and you still going to end up sitting for an hour minimum. But that's not the worse part. They are so unprofessional I'm surprised they still open. I've head a crown and root canal Done by retro dental and I've been experience crazy amount of pain, sensitivity and going to the hospital 2 times do to sever pain and before a full year the crown cracks. All because they had A student apply the crown on evenly causing my my tooth to hit against the upper teeth so when I got back to Retro dental They started grinding the top tooth which now is very sensitive because they grind it almost half of it off meanwhile it was the crown that wasn't fully seated in the first place Causing food and other stuff to get underneath the crown causing it to get an infection. Not to mention the had to make the crown 3 times before getting one that fits. Honestly there big waste of time and A bunch of people pretending like they know what they doing. specially when the students are involved they should not have the right to be working on your teeth Specially when the license doctor is nowhere to be found that is against the law. Trust me if you don't want to waste your time or your money. Try any other place then retro dental group. read more

I have no complaints with my experience. Nice cool doctors. Very short waits. I've only been here for cleanings every 6 months however so I don't know about anything other than that. read more

Update: Adding one star back. The office did give me $250 back for my poor treatment when I started Invisalign (though I still think I massively overpaid). I didn't like Dr. Kessler, but I do like their new dentist Dr. Wilson Lowther. It also seems like they've changed management and a lot of staff, so my appointments have gone a little smoother than they used to. Still plan to change dentists after my Invisalign treatment is complete. Shortened version of my original bad review: - Bad first cleaning because staff didn't show up and the dentist Dr. Summer didn't know how to clean teeth. - Constantly bad wait times 20+min beyond your appointment time even if you showed up early for the appointment, or were the first appointment of the day. -Overpaid for invsalign (because I didn't do enough research), and they're still using old technology (No scanner, just putty trays). -The receptionist did my first insaglign appointment when I went to pick up my trays for the first time. No dentist to check fit, or assistant to talk me through it. - Unprofessional staff that gets distracted joking around with each other while they're supposed to be cleaning your teeth. -Often out of supplies they need during appointments. read more

The staff was super friendly. They helped accommodate and played my daughter while my husband was getting his cleaning and I was getting my X-rays. I did, however, get a second opinion after the dr told me I needed a deep clean. I ended up not needing one and got a cleaning at CCD. I'm still going back to this office for next time. read more

If I could pick 0 stars I would. This dental office is horrible! They won't do a regular cleaning on your teeth only deep cleaning and they also charge for you to transfer your records. They truly are great actresses and lie to your face. Do not go here! read more

Great Dentist & office. Been going there for years! Dr. Kessler recently acquired the office and immediately earned my trust. If you are looking for a Dentist you will be happy here. They are always on time with appointments so if you are punctual there will be no waiting. The staff is friendly, professional, & the patient care is exceptional. read more

No one likes going to the dentist, but this office is the exception. Everyone in the office is friendly and they provide excellent service. If you are looking for a new dentist, you should check out Retro Dental. read more

I called The Retro Dental Group a few days prior to my appointment, to make sure they accept my insurance Cigna, they said yes, failing to say they do not accept Cigna DMO (sorry I am not a dental professional, I didn't know how it worked). The dentist was amazing, polite, and I have no complaints with Darren DDS. The hygienist was super sweet, but did a horrible job on my cleaning. The office staff however was less than helpful. I, five days later, receive a phone call saying they do not accept my insurance and that I owe them $500 something dollars, and if I was willing to pay that over the phone. I said "Hell no!" and told them that I pay for dental insurance and get 3 cleanings included with my plan. I never would have stepped foot in that office if not for the fact they told me my insurance was accepted. There was a $80 new patient coupon I had that I mentioned to Stephanie, which she kindly reduced the bill to. AND I know it is just $80, but it is the principal at this point! Again, I do not pay for dental insurance to pay for things that are included in my plan, only to be baited into an office that does not accept my insurance. If you only accept PPO then ask or tell people. This happened in August, which I since have been harassed with letters and phone calls, asking for the $80 when in my opinion, they need to take a loss on for baiting and switching, and providing inaccurate information to patients. They have called when out of the country, on family vacation, sent letters during Christmas. When I asked the rude witch at the office today, if I could speak with the dentist, she said he is on vacation and she has no idea when he will return. WTF? Then she was like I will let him know you are looking for him. Okay lady! Well if they don't know when the dentist will return, I guess I will call you guys again in two months. Hopefully he will be back by then. I will let my husband know that I will no longer have any dealings with these unprofessional broads, and they can direct all further correspondence to him. He is a business consultant could probably help them get some SOPs in place, and possibly help them with that lack of synergy they seem to be having. The only people I will be speaking with now, are Cigna and the BBB... Gabriela G. read more
