DO NOT GO TO DR. LINGMIN (LISA) HE. She ruined my vision for the rest of my life. She caused a massive retina detachment from a freezing procedure she did. She did not care that she caused it and sent me home in that condition. I had to have surgery from another doctor to fix it. However, the detachment that she caused by releasing multiple gas bubbles into my eye and one lodging behind the retina and completely detaching it has caused lifelong vision impairment. She totally dismissed my concerns when I immediately told her that I saw hundreds of new black floaters in my eye right after she did the procedure. I can't emphasize enough how TERRIBLE she is. There are many elderly patients who endure many hardships and to have this man treat the elderly in this manner is unacceptable and heart wrenching to realize bad doctors are really out there! Hopefully one day he will be removed from practicing medicine and he realizes his mind set needs to be reevaluated and utilized in an environment that doesn't involve seeing patients (no pun intended but indeed very fitting) to ensure no one else has to endure the potential infectious illnesses that he may cause as well as his baffling disturbing behavior. Unfortunately he is the reason people fear going to a doctor. Never until now have I seen and felt an intense toxic environment at a place where it SHOULD BE safe and helpful. Dr. Lingmin (Lisa) HE is a very bad doctor. She has very hot temper. Last year, during my FIRST visit to her office, Lisa wanted me to immediately sign all documents to have a surgery on my left eye (before I left her office). I told Lisa that I was very scared of surgery. I would like to check all options and think about it first before I made a decision whether I should have an eye surgery later. Lisa got very upset at me. She said "you will not die from an eye surgery". She really acted like a used car salesman. She wanted me to make a decision on the spot and sign all documents for surgery before I left her office (during my FIRST VISIT). Later, I found out from the Yelp that Dr. HE had very bad reviews from her patients. So, I asked my optometrist (whom my family trusted) to refer a good ophthalmologist to me. I am very happy to learn from the ophthalmologist (an excellent eye doctor who has genuine care for his patients) that an eye surgery for me is not necessary. This great ophthalmologist has been the eye doctor for my family since then. The lessons learned from this incident are as follows: 1) Please check the patients' review for that doctors before you book the appointment to visit him / her. 2) When in doubt, please ask for a second opinion from a professional. In short, Dr. Lingmin (Lisa) HE is a very terrible doctor. Dr. Lingmin (Lisa) He, MD has the WORST TEMPER. Besides the fact that we waited almost 3hours which is not the reason why I am writing this review. The reason for this review is because she did not make us feel comfortable asking questions. The previous doctor that requested for me to see this doctor is because something was not right. Dr. Lingmin HE said that she did not see anything and that everything was fine the more i asked questions the louder she got to the point that she was practically yelling and rolled her eyes at me at one point and i asked her what her problem was and she just turned around to type on the computer. I decided to stop asking questions because i felt stupid asking them. The rest of the staff was great i asked them for a number so i can file a complaint and i also asked if this has happened before and the staff smirked and nodded their head which says a lot!! THIS DR. DOEiS NOT CARE ABOUT HER PATIENTS. I am speaking for this specific doctor not anyother doctor. This is a horrible place! Please do yourself a favor and continue to do more research to find the care you deserve before making an appointment with this center. I cannot tell you enough that they don't care about your health and don't respect your time. I waited 3 hours in their office to see a doctor and he never showed up. I had to leave to go back to work. They did not even apologize. They took images, and when I called them back to follow up, they told me it all looks better now and I don't need to come back. However, my eye started to have the same issues again. I called them to see if I could see a doctor as they know the history of my eye. The person who answered first gave me an appointment for the following week, but then she understood that it was urgent, so she said, "Let me have a technician call you." They never called. I called back after 2 days, and they said, "Sorry let us call you today." Guess what? No calls again. I called them back again, and this time they said that my situation was not urgent, so they could see me next week. I said, "No, thank you." Please don't fall for the fake good reviews. read more

They don't care about their patients. I arrived at my appointed time, and after waiting two hours they had not taken me. If I ran my business, this way, I wouldn't have any more customers. The front desk estimated it might be another hour. My procedure takes five minutes. It's insulting to me as a customer that they make me wait that long to be seen by the doctor. It's also insulting that they don't come out and tell you. There's no reason for such bad management of timing. I don't know who to blame. It's obviously not the front desk and I think the doctor runs his ass off. But someone must be managing it and it needs to be changed. my time is valuable, and they should respect that. read more

I am giving this place a 5 star review solely for Lori in the billing department. I had to make an emergency appointment. It was a pretty big bill, and at first my insurance denied the claim. But Lori kept trying to reach them and because of her persistence, she got them to pay for me. She did not have to do that. It probably would have been easier for her to just charge me. The front and billing department are extremely unprofessional for not letting me know whether or not I may owe them $ at my appointments until after the fact. When I confronted them about it turns out the front and billing department don't work together! So if you have any insurance questions, the front will not know- only their manager. Also Beverly from the billing department hung up on me mid-conversation! I may have liked Dr. Chow and his service, but I am extremely dissatisfied with customer services. This center does not value people's time. Every time I have an appointment here the appointment starts an hour after the scheduled time. If you cant't fit me in at 4, why tell me to come in at 4? Why not tell me to come in at 5 then? Quit being so incompetent or you'll lose patients. Update: came back 2 months later and the receptionists are still incredibly incompetent. I arrive at the office and they ignored me for 10 minutes. I've never been to such a terribly trained medical facility in my life. I will not be coming back in the future. read more

This review is based on wait time. Appointment time is Monday at 10:30AM. Patients go through some assessments with technicians and took about 30mins. We then sat in the lobby waiting to see the doctor and it was at 12:30PM. My final thoughts. Wait time is horrible especially for elderly people. While we were waiting other elderly patients were waiting as long and some even complained about being hungry. Now if this facility cares and values their patients then I recommend they do an re-assessment of their wait time. read more

The care here is amazing.The staff is attentive, caring and professional. Very friendly. They are prompt and mostly on time. The equipment is modern and up to date and the technology is top notch. This facility has state of the art eye exam equipment.Dr. Dessouki is a great Doctor who literally restored my site after a bout with wet macular degeneration. When I came to him 4 months ago, my sight had been reduced greatly. The Doctor told me that he might be able to restore 30% of my sight. I had dark floaters, crooked lines, and general sight impairment. Apparently leaky blood vessels grew under my retina. After several injections things changed for the better. The bleeding subsided and new blood vessels began to grow back. More importantly, my sight began to improve. Dramatically. After 3 months of injections, instead of the 30% improvement that the Doctor said he might be able to restore,my sight has improved at least 80%!!! The procedure and choice of medicine truly worked for me. Yesterday I had my fourth injection and am on my way to full sight restoration. read more

So glad to have been sent here. Went in with a detached retina (screw you HIPAA) and left a plan, went back, consult, and then vision restored! And isn't that what it's all about? The front desk staff is awesome. Friendly people--been joking with them about what kind of ice cream I get after I'm done. The various techs, and doctors are friendly too. I assume that a place like this is where you find a lot of stressed out patients. You don't go here for a new prescription for your contacts. You go here because another Dr said "oh crap, you need to go here." That kind of stress is like a lead balloon on the mood of an office. These guys seem to handle that in stride and give patients--by my observation in the waiting room--the care and attention they need to get through it and back to life. Note to people walking outside. When you cross the exit for the parking area here, turn your head and look for approaching cars. There's a Retinal Diagnostic Center here so, uh, there might be some people behind the wheel who are still recovering from having their eyes dilated or are otherwise not seeing as well as they could/should. Dr. Chow has totally saved my vision after having an attack of wet macular degeneration about 5 years ago. This place is great. I had an emergency that my optometrist stumbled on during a follow up exam and they got me in within an hour and a half. Allowing me to get child care for the appointment. Everyone was very nice and caring. The Lattice "surgery" is like a 3 second non invasive thing and it does hurt like hell but it's tolerable. They also offered me more numbing drops, Tylenol and and ice pack. They even put my son and my husband in a little side room with a kids show on while I was being taken care of. I now have another eye issues ,uveitis, and called them to see if they can help. They sent a message to the nurse as urgent to get me seen or referred ASAP. I'm so pleased with everyone here. Especially because I'm terrified of eye stuff but it was no big deal. I hope they can help me and I don't have see another doctor but trust them to do what's best. Thank you everyone!!! read more

Serious over booking problem. Been bringing my elderly mom for almost two years. Always takes for ever. They over book so bad they actually tell you expect two hour wait. Also does not matter if you show up on time or early. I am writing today because it is slower than normal because took in patient that showed too early before the patients with schedule for time. I was going to refer a friend here and saw the poor reviews and felt I needed to speak up. My dad saw Dr. Ward for many years and he always raved about him. When he was no longer able to drive himself, my niece or I took him until he became bed-ridden (2016?). We never experienced the lengthy waits or issues with staff that have been mentioned. Staff was professional and courteous, and very kind when he had bad days and had to cancel. I will mention that we always had morning appointments. It's logical that doctors may end up behind later in the day due to patients who arrive late or complications. I find this to be true of almost every doctor I've ever seen. read more

My wife had floaters on both eyes. These floaters had bothered her for many years. Both her cataract ophthalmologist and optometrist recommended Dr. Clement Chow. Dr. Chow carefully examined my wife's eyes with advanced equipment and confirmed vitrectomy could remove her eye floaters. Dr. Clement Chow was very warm, very patient with my wife's questions and concerns before the surgery that made my wife relaxed. During vitrectomy of both eyes Dr. Chow also repaired retina detachment that solved my wife's existing retina detaching problems. The surgery was smooth, his team is highly efficient. After surgery on both eyes, she had no pain, nor any complications, recovery was fast. My wife who is 60 said she hasn't seen so clearly since she was a young girl!! She was very very happy and thankful for Dr. Chow's expertise and skills. We highly recommend Dr. Clement Chow! (Nurses at the hospital told us all patients said Dr. Chow is excellent.) read more

I am grateful that my new optometrist referred me to the Retinal Diagnostic Center, and my first introduction to my wonderful doctor in June 2018. Simply put, she is an extraordinary doctor. She is also highly intelligent and takes great care of my eyes. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the exceptional staff members at the Retinal Diagnostic Center. Jasmine the Insurance Coordinator answered all of my inquiries in a timely manner regarding my new insurance plan. She has a positive attitude and her knowledge is amazing. The Retinal Diagnostic Center provides a comfortable environment. The entire center is in pristine condition. It's my refuge from the rat race of the so called Silicon Valley. I really look forward to my appointments because I know I am in good care, and it's always great to see the staff members as well. I need to acknowledge Katie and Christina (black hair). They both work the front desk reception. I believe it takes tremendous amount of patience, kindness, and coordination to keep the office running smoothly every day. They also do a great job! In my humble opinion, they are the "face" of the office because of their role at the center. Nonie is the Office Manager and she has the perfect demeanor to handle any situation. In my observation, she is the glue to the entire daily operation. Her exceptional attitude exudes confidence and reassurance that everything will have a positive resolution. Please forgive me if I have misspelled her first name. The medical technicians also do a fantastic job. They are thorough with their questions and they always make sure that I understand the process. I do want to acknowledge one gentleman who was my medical technician on my first couple of visits to the center. His name is Pete and he always greets me with a handshake a great big hello. Last, but not least! Danielle who I met on my first visit and spent an entire business day with her in hopes of being part of their special study of patients with a particular eye condition. My dad had the surgery @ Good Samaritan Hospital last week and she stated my dad waited too long for the surgery so she cannot see in the back and scrape out some of the dried blood. It took the original eye doctor over 3 weeks to diagnose my dad with Hyphema. Then to schedule the surgery it's another 2.5 weeks. So how is that my dad's fault? My dad's eye got worse; it hurts more, more red and more puffy since the surgery. He has an appt with her today at 11:30am and still waiting and it's 1:50pm. What's the point of having an appt when you still need to wait 2-3 hours? Finally called my dad in and it took her 2 min to say "no infection or any problem", waited 2.5 hours for a 2 minutes visit! She did not explain my condition thoroughly to me whatsoever, rushed me in and out after waiting an exceptional amount of time for her. Receptionist on her cell phone talking about moving out of her apartment so that all the patients in the waiting room can hear her conversations on her cell phone and to co-workers, unprofessional!! My retinal specialist was Howard Chen. I have been going to him for years and he did surgery on my L eye 5 years ago. The last couple of visits he just walks in and barely remembers to say hello. I don't think he looked at my chart because he thought I was someone else's patient when he in fact he has been my Doc for several years. He is abrupt and acts like he doesn't care. My dad called a few days later to ask where his meds were and was faced with multiple phone transfers and a very long hold time as they were scrambling to figure out what went wrong. My boyfriend and I were referred to Dr. Chow by our optometrist as he was having great difficulty with his sight on his right eye. To complicate matters, he did not have insurance. We made an initial appointment to the Disalvo office in San Jose with Dr. Chow. We were very anxious given the condition of his right eye and the fact that he had no insurance. We talked with Dr. Chow and explained his condition and situation. After extensive testing/examination, Dr. Chow very patiently listened and took the time and explained to us his diagnosis, his treatment and payment options which put us at ease and gave us a sense that we could trust him. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and we really appreciated that he listened and thoroughly responded to all of our questions and concerns. We have since received two treatments with him (at his other office in Campbell) with good progress and we are very encouraged for a full recovery. Based on our experience, we highly recommend Dr. Chow and would not hesitate to recommend his services to family and friends. I have been going to Dr. Ward for almost two years now after being recommended to him by my current eye doctor. Having both lattice degeneration and high myopia, I have had two preventative laser surgery treatments by him with great results. Have never had any problems with wait times or the front desk, they are incredibly charming and kind individuals. I am incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Ward, as he has helped me lots with my eye conditions. He is informative, well-read and kind. I went here to have my eyes checked twice. This place is very busy and very disorganized. Each time the appointment took 1.5-2 hrs. First time they made me wait an hour before seeing anyone and only after I complained. Second time they dilated my eyes and made me wait for over an 1 hour and I had to complain again before I could see the doctor. They literally lose track of their waiting patients. An assistant checked my eyes with the light on an iPhone instead of an optometrist flash light. Very unprofessional. Worse doctor office I have ever been to. Obviously they don't care because all the complains here have not made a difference. read more

For me Dr. Monahan worked miracles. I have had nothing but the best experience here. Two procedures have given me back stable vision.

The staff and doctors are knowledgeable and helpful when treating you, but I have to agree with the other reviews about time. This place really doesn't value its patients' time. My mother had an appointment at 3:30 and we had to wait until 5:30 to even see the doctor. The appointment times mean nothing - they just plop all their patients down in the waiting area and you wait indefinitely until the doctor has enough time to see you, with no updates from the staff. Numerous episodes of Property Brothers showed on the TV before we saw the doctor - that's how long we and several other patients waited. I'd recommend a place with more prompt and respectful service. read more
