Today I saw Dr. Jay Wang at North California Retina Vitreous Associates for a new concern in my…read moreleft eye, which previously had a retinal detachment repaired with a scleral buckle. My surgeon left Stanford and I have been doing my annual visits with Dr wang from last 3 years. Given my history, I was understandably anxious about new visual symptoms. Dr. Wang's credentials and expertise are impressive, and I appreciated that he was able to examine my retina and confirm that he did not see any new tears, holes, or signs of retinal detachment. But the check was barely even for a minute. I left the appointment feeling that I would have benefited from more explanation and discussion. My symptom was new and unusual, and because it was in the same eye that had previously detached, I had many questions about possible causes and what I should watch for going forward. The visit felt very brief, and I would have appreciated a little more time to understand his assessment and next steps. I respect Dr. Wang's expertise and the reassurance that my retina looked stable. My feedback is that spending a few additional minutes explaining findings and addressing patient concerns would make the experience even better, especially for patients with a history of retinal surgery who may come in feeling anxious. Overall, I appreciate his knowledge and I hope future visits allow for a little more patient discussion and education.

He has the latest technology, he has multiple offices, and all of my interactions with him have been very positive. He is hands down, a great Doctor, and fantastic at what he does. I would imagine he was at the top of his class(s), I would bet money on that. I always felt comfortable with Dr Chow right from the beginning, and that feeling was only reinforced stronger with each visit. She did not care that she caused it and sent me home in that condition. I had to have surgery from another doctor to fix it. However, the detachment that she caused by releasing multiple gas bubbles into my eye and one lodging behind the retina and completely detaching it has caused lifelong vision impairment. She totally dismissed my concerns when I immediately told her that I saw hundreds of new black floaters in my eye right after she did the procedure. I can't emphasize enough how TERRIBLE she is. Stay away.

My family member had ongoing floaters and flashes, which can be warning signs of retinal detachment. We were able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Ding. During the Thursday visit, after reviewing the eye images, he only said that the retina looked just thin and advised us to follow up again in two weeks. He did not explain the cause of the floaters and flashes or provide any meaningful guidance, and the patient was sent home without answers. Because my family member's symptoms kept getting worse, we sought a second opinion from another doctor in San Jose. That doctor diagnosed retinal detachment, and my family member underwent emergency scleral buckle and vitrectomy surgery that same weekend. This was our true experience, and we hope others will be cautious before choosing Dr. Ding. In our view, he failed to identify the cause of the condition, offered no meaningful assistance, and acted unprofessionally.

The waiting room kept filling up and filling up until it spilled out onto chairs set up in the hallway. Dr. Ting did not even show up to the office until 10:30, at which point I assume he checked email, got coffee, etc., because as the very first one to be called in, it was just a few minutes short of 11:00 when he finally called me in. I now go to the other doctors associated with the practice in a different city. When two different doctors asked why I didn't go closer to home to Dr. Ting, they BOTH asked, "Is it because of the wait?" Yes. It's because of the two-hour wait before he bothers to even start the day.

Check-in was a breeze and even though there were a few papers to fill it didnt take that long and i was asked to wait to be called in . Daniella ( not sure if i am spelling her name correctly) who was the nurse assigned to me for the appointment called out my name in the waiting area and took me to the assigned room. She asked all the relevant questions and made note of my answers and was very thorough with her explanations and asks. Post that , she dilated my eyes and after a bit i was escorted to a room where there were a few pictures that were clicked of the cross section of the retina i believe and this was performed by another nurse who happened to be in there. Post that i moved to another room where Daniella helped take a lot of pictures (fundus photography) of the retina , macula etc that were needed for the diagnosis and she did a great job in getting the perfect images (even though it took a few tries ) while being very patient and extremely helpful with the whole process. After that i met Dr Chow (who was very succinct and clear in his explanation) who did the necessary check up and as well discussed the diagnosis and in the end it came out to be that all was well (always great to hear that :) ). Extremely efficient from the perspective of the time that i had spent in there. Shoutout to the folks at RDC in San Jose and keep up the good work!!!

AMR DESSOUKI Be alerted of this person's volatile behavior…read more Another alarming concern is his cleanliness, using dirty medical equipment. There are many elderly patients who endure many hardships and to have this man treat the elderly in this manner is unacceptable and heart wrenching to realize bad doctors are really out there! Hopefully one day he will be removed from practicing medicine and he realizes his mind set needs to be reevaluated and utilized in an environment that doesn't involve seeing patients (no pun intended but indeed very fitting) to ensure no one else has to endure the potential infectious illnesses that he may cause as well as his baffling disturbing behavior. Unfortunately he is the reason people fear going to a doctor. Never until now have I seen and felt an intense toxic environment at a place where it SHOULD BE safe and helpful. One bad apple can certainly spoil the entire establishment! All the other doctors should really stop, look, listen and pay extra attention to the way their business is being run starting at the front desk (no complaints there, but observed unhappy workers, over scheduled patients leaving upset) Hope this review helps others and if you witness something even if didn't happen directly to you, please help by reporting/sharing it.

His training is first class: he attended Harvard for his undergraduate education, medical school, and internship, and later completed a fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, one of the very best eye hospitals in the country. He is also on the faculty at UCSF and has more than 25 years of experience. I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have been referred to him when I was diagnosed with macular degeneration. Simply put, he saved my eyesight, which was quickly going downhill. He started treatment at my very first appointment, and not only did my eyes stabilize, they actually returned to their previous condition, which, as I understand it, is highly unusual. Dr. Bharadwaj stays current with cutting-edge research and has been an investigator in numerous clinical trials. But what makes him especially wonderful is the amazing person he is. He has a calm demeanor, is always happy to answer questions, and is warm, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I have complete confidence in his judgment and expertise. The waiting room is not luxurious, and it is usually packed with patients. But believe me, a short wait is more than worth it when you are seeing someone with the expertise to protect your eyesight. I can't recommend Dr. Bharadwaj highly enough. I feel incredibly fortunate to be his patient.

She reviewed all the necessary aftercare information that my mother needed to adhere to and addressed a related issue/tests results as it effected the cataract procedure. She addressed a few questions I had in perfect detail and did not at all mind me being there. She even booked a followup appointment on my mother's behalf. As we left we noticed a posting that described Dr. Ly as having received a 2011 "Ophthalmologist of the Year" as awarded by a local newspaper, the Milpitas Post. She was also named a 2005 Top Doc in SJ by San Jose Magazine. Having recently visited with her we can see why. Thanks Dr Ly! Keep up the excellent work.
