The doctor was approachable and didn't jump straight into medical talk, which helped ease some of my nerves. They asked a variety of questions that touched on my general health and made sure they had a full picture. I liked that they circled back a couple times to double check details. That kind of attention made me feel like they were really listening. The way they explained things was easy to follow and they didn't act rushed even though I could tell they had a full schedule. They also mentioned a few areas where I could improve some things in my routine. I didn't feel judged, just guided. Their assistant helped out by preparing things ahead of time so the visit flowed smoothly. Overall it was a positive experience, not over the top, but definitely reliable and respectful.

They scheduled an appointment for my eye exam within 2 weeks. Now? It's all changed. Wow!! It's so obvious these guys really hate money!! They hate customers! No appointments for months, nobody picks up the phone when I call, and the stupidest, most ridiculous part: They force you to have an appointment just to get damn eyeglasses which they never told me about when I spoke to them on the phone. I wasted my time driving to the office on my day off hoping to order glasses. I tried to call before I left but nobody answered the phone. When I arrived the rude, judgemental valley girl sitting at the front desk rudely and condescendingly told me they only do eyeglasses by appointment. When I asked why she made up excuses about how they're "short staffed." LOL. Oh honey! Eyeglasses aren't rocket science. Any receptionist at every clinic can do them. Those two bored receptionists were just sitting on their ass not doing anything. I know they could've helped me. I used to think very highly of this business. Now it's obvious they hate money and hate customers. I hope they go bankrupt. It's very clear that they will considering how empty the store was and how they turn away paying customers. Dr. Furlong took time to answer my concerns face to face even during my first / consult - this was probably a level of attention I didn't see anywhere else. Dr. Parikh performed my ICL surgery with speed, grace, and precision. His style is to talk to the patients to keep them informed at every step of the procedure to reduce tension. But, the chilled liquids are going to be the only bit of necessary unpleasantness. Even after the surgery, Dr. Parikh tended to my measurements and personally walked me to my ride so I can get home and recover. For checkups, Dr. Nguyen is a joy to chat with and Julia seems to be the reason everything runs like clockwork. I'm really grateful and impressed with the whole team. I'm a month after surgery and am consistently seeing 20/15 which means I catch myself staring at details in the distance I've never noticed before. Better than I expected and my highest praise for the whole Furlong team and their approach.

I've been considering to get Lasik surgery for a few years now. My last consultation (2-3 years…read moreago) from my eye doctor mentioned I still have to wait until my vision is stable. Dec. 2025 - I had my annual eye check up from Bella x Specs Optometry and I asked for facility recommendations and suggested Furlong Vision Correction. I had a pamphlet, looked them up and scheduled my complimentary consultation on 1/6/2025. 1/6/2025 consultation day - Jennifer was assigned to me and she was very helpful! I felt at ease that they werr giving a lot of information about my options and if I'm a candidate for Lasik surgery. Dr. Michael Furlong also checked in on my consultation day. Good news: I'm a good candidate to proceed with Lasik. I asked for potential payment options so I can prepare with the surgery cost. I applied for CareCredit financing and got approved. I then scheduled my surgery appointment on 1/30/2025. There were multiple pre-operative measurements I took to make sure I'm all set. The whole process was easy! I got nervous a few days before my surgery. It wasn't a good idea that I checked videos about Lasik. Anyway, I checked in with Jennifer and expressed my concerns and she addressed it very kindly. Day of surgery (1/30/2025): I followed the instructions I have and made sure I had a good rest. I took the sedative pill they offered so I can be more calm during the process. The actual procedure was fast and easy, thank goodness! Every step -- the doctors where there and they were informing me of what's happening. Dr. Furlong was present and checked my eyes after the procedure. I think it took less than 15 minutes. My vision was very hazy at first and that day, he suggested to sleep/rest as much as I can. Next day (1/31/2025): My initial post-operative appointment. I did have a very irritating itchiness in my right eye that subsided the next day. Again, following as much as I can with the post op activities really helped! Now, it's been almost 2 months. My vision is almost 20/20 though my left eye has -0.50 grade. I've been wearing corrective eyeglasses for 15+ years. My last check up before my lasik surgery was OD: -5.00 DS, OS: -4.00 -1.25 x 180. A huge change and I have way better vision now! I'm maintaning the preservative-free eye drops. My experience and lasik surgery with Furlong Vision Correction is a success! Thank you so much Dr. Furlong for ensuring my lasik surgery went extremely well! :) Thanks to Jennifer, Maeghan and the rest of your team for making it possible!

I called on 2/3/2026 at 1:50 pm to ask a question about my son's care. Before I could finish my statement, the receptionist heavily sighed and loudly interjected, "what's his birthdate?!" Clearly, it didn't matter that I finish what I was saying, or that it was completely rude to cut off someone (a current client) in the middle of a sentence. Needless to say, after that, I don't need to return to Milpitas Optometric Group. The front desk was okay, and it was already a pain to be greeted by such grumpy people, but after that phone service, we can take our business elsewhere. I'll be taking my son, too.

The team has been very supportive for the past two weeks. They were listening to a lot of my questions and my concerns for the past two weeks. I am super thankful for Patrick, Annie, and Sheen from the start of my pre-op. Thank you for giving me two cute stress balls for me to squeeze during the operation. They were super helpful! I have been wearing glasses since second grade, and I woke up from a nap after I got home from recovery, and as I'm reaching out for my glasses, I'm like, wait, I don't need this anymore! So it's definitely gonna be an adjustment where I don't have to lift my glasses every time they slide down from my nose, I don't have to have that behind-the-ear pain from the frame that hooks behind my ear anymore, no more foggy glasses when I wash the dishes or when I eat hot, soupy noodles. Super excited to have a life without glasses, and definitely a big adjustment and emotional experience. Thank you to the team at the IQ Laser Vision!

I had LASIK surgery with Dr. Scott Hyver in 2016. One of the main reasons I chose his practice was…read morebecause of the Extended Care Program, which gave me confidence that if my vision changed in the future, I would have access to enhancements. About two years ago (2024), I noticed my vision starting to decline and contacted the office to ask about an enhancement. I was told my vision hadn't changed enough to qualify yet and that I would need to wait. Fast forward to now, and my vision has continued to worsen - especially my distance vision - to the point where it has begun affecting my ability to drive safely. When I contacted the office again, I learned that Dr. Hyver had retired, but I was reassured that the Extended Care Program is still being honored for his former patients. The process, however, has been frustrating. I was first instructed to see my regular optometrist for an updated eye exam, and then I was scheduled for additional testing at IQ Vision, which I had to pay for out of pocket. I'm not sure why these tests aren't covered under the Extended Care Program, especially since they're required to determine eligibility for an enhancement. I also didn't feel that the subjective refraction performed during my visit today accurately reflected my true prescription. At the end of the appointment, I was told that I might not qualify for an enhancement at all, or that they might only recommend treating one eye. While my left eye is noticeably worse, both eyes have declined since my original surgery, and correcting only one eye would still leave me struggling with the other. It's disappointing to have paid for additional testing without knowing whether I'll actually receive the enhancement that was a key reason I chose this practice in the first place. I sincerely hope this isn't a process where former patients are required to pay for evaluations only to be told they don't qualify. I'll update my review once I know the surgeon's final recommendation. Overall, the customer service has been good. My only negative interaction was when I was leaving after my appointment. Although the staff had already confirmed that I had paid, the front desk employee appeared skeptical and wanted to verify it again while I waited, which felt a bit uncomfortable. Overall: I'm reserving final judgment until I hear the surgeon's recommendation, but so far the experience has been a bit disappointing and costly than I expected, especially given the promises of the Extended Care Program that influenced my decision to have LASIK at Scott Hyver's practice.
