I have been coming to Pajka Eye Center since 2021. I first went there because my mother had…read morecataracts and she needed to have that surgery. She had one surgery for one of the eyes, and needed me to take her to the appointments. While there I got to know about this surgery center and decided to finally look into Lasik surgery. My vision has been steadily getting worse as the years went by to the point I just couldn't see almost anything without glasses. Whenever i would misplace them, it would take me up to an hour sometimes to find them because i just couldn't see... i had to get super up close to see them. I have been putting off doing Lasik for years, partly because I was a bit of a chicken. I was always worried they would screw it up and I would end up blind. Ever see that old Twilight Zone episode, Time Enough At Last? It freaked me out when I first saw it years ago. The fear of eventually not being able to see and enjoy the things I love drove me to get the surgery. And the moment I decided I needed to correct my vision came in a trip in 2021, where I went to a hotel pool, having extreme difficulty seeing anything while I was in the pool and then for a while that I couldn't find my glasses for a while... made me realize I needed to fix this problem once and for all. So i went through their tests and was told 1) I was blind as a bat and 2) I was a candidate for Lasik. After a few check ups as I needed to get my eyes ready for the surgery as they were too dry, needing months of daily eye drops. The day of the surgery came. A friend of mine took me to the eye center for the surgery, and i went in. I signed some paperwork, given some pills and some eye drops to numb my eyes I gotta say, Lasik surgery feels weird. You do feel them working on the eye as your conscious and it doesn't hurt most of the time. Except the left eye which I was told it always does. The surgery didn't take long... think it was an hour. I wish i could say that I faced this without fear, but no. I did hold the hand of one of the nurses the whole time... especially during the left eye. Super thankful to that nurse. I went home and slept the rest of the day and really did a lot of sleeping that weekend. I had to wear sunglasses for several weeks, have 4 different types of eye drops to use for the next month and had to sleep with goggles on. My vision got progressively better and one week after my surgery I had 20/15 vision. Not sure what I have now as I have to go soon for another check up. Its amazing to be able to see without glasses on... even the colors are more vivid and vibrant. I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Pajka and his staff. My life is so much better since the surgery. They are very professional, caring and wonderful. If you are in Van Wert and Lima and need eye surgery, go see Dr. Pajka!

My husband had a detached retina, and his eye doctor sent him to Dr. Khan. We were squeezed in on a Friday because time is an issue with a detached retina (I have learned A LOT about this subject since last Friday). We were seen without too much of a wait, and I was so impressed by the professionalism and kindness of Dr. Khan and his entire staff. He performed the surgery that night at Lutheran Hospital - it took about 2 1/2 hours. He then opened the office by himself on Saturday morning to look at my husband's eye. I know we are probably paying out the nose for this (I haven't yet seen a bill), but I am so happy with the way he has treated my husband and how professional he has been.

Dr. ___ failed me in many ways. From my very first appointment with him, I was in remission and…read morewanting to establish care with an opthamologist in Ohio (Early 2023), to my recent visits since I had a Uveitis flareup, he has failed me. When I first established care with Dr. ____ , I was in remission and had no active inflammation, and I felt as if he did not believe I had Uveitis. He googled my old Opthamologist, told me I'm fine, and after a few follow-up appointments of being told I'm fine (verbatim) I stopped seeing him until I had a flareup in June 2025. I had an emergency visit with Dr. Buzzacco (way better bedside manner and explanation, at the practice in Dublin) to confirm it was a flareup, and put on a pred taper to hit the nail on it's head. Only a week later, when I got to visit Dr. ____, he told me I was fine and didn't see any inflammation in my eyes. He ended up sending me to another location to get pictures of the backs of my eyes to confirm all of the inflammation that was hiding, and gave me two steroid shots to help the initial inflammation, with some daily meds he chose. Every appointment since then I go through the process of bloodwork, waiting HOURS in his office, spending MAX 5 minutes with Dr. ____, and being told 'You'll be fine, Monica. See you in 4-6 weeks.' What for? What about my bloodwork? What about my inflammed tattoo I reached out about? Why am I on immunosuppressant medication while I go into preschools and senior living facilities for work? I got actively disregarded in the portal to talk to Dr. ____ and disregarded in his office too. There was absolutely no concern for me in his care. Finally in Dec 2025 I decided to get a second opinion, and without asking, all of those above concerns of mine were mentioned and tackled in my first appointment. I could ask questions and ask about all of the big medical terms i've heard over the years. TLDR: Dr. ______ is good for an initial bandaid by getting steroid shots, but if you want to find out your root cause of the disease you have, seek help elsewhere. He was upset and said he's fucked because he needs my labs every 6 weeks. understandable, however circumstances were beyond my control, and the family member passed away. The only person I was hurting was me. I signed paperwork acknowledging the drugs could be dangerous, not him. He then said well your eyes look fine we're just stopping all the meds, and make an appointment if I have any other issues. It felt like I was being dismissed and he was trying to tell me I still needed to keep the appointments. well I did not have another caregiver and she was bedridden. he didn't even acknowledge I said she died. I think in all the years 4 every 6 weeks I may have spent a total of 1 hr with him.

My mother is almost 80 years old, and sometimes has trouble following their instructions, but they work with her until they can give her the best possible care. The staff is nice, and competent from the opthamalogists down to the office workers.
