This review is long overdue. I worked with Ed and Resume Professors in 2017 to revamp my resume. I spent a lot of time and was really thoughtful when I went through the questionnaire. The initial strategy call with Ed was great, I felt like he really listened and we had a good plan on how to start the revamp. However, when I received the first draft I was a little deflated. Ed had taken my one page resume and turned it into two pages by literally copying and pasting what I had written in the questionnaire and not exactly in the right places. There were multiple grammar issues a lot of bold and varying font styles. I reminded myself it was just a first draft so I made comments on all of the documents and sent back. We went back and forth a few times and he would fix a few minor things, but not address the more substantial comments. When Ed responded he said "Please remember, you are in charge, and I work for you. I will try to guide you when I believe it's in your best interest, but a lot of these changes are totally acceptable." This comment was very disturbing as yes, I did pay for this service, but I received a sloppy product and even though I kept going back to you with items that needed to be fixed, you did not correct them or give another decent suggestion. Finally, it came to a point where I just could not go back and forth anymore and Ed thought we were at the updating LinkedIn profile point. I showed a few recruiter friends a copy of this revamped resume and they advised that I should not use it. I would also not Overall, this service was a waste of my time and money. I ended up creating and using a completely different resume on my own. I had thought with all of these 5 star comments that Resume Professors would be great! And, maybe it is...it's all about the experience each person has. But, in my experience, it was similar to the 1 star review on here that gets lost in the weeds. read more

Spent countless hours searching for a professional resume writing service with good reviews and a price that would match the quality of work. Although there were no reviews on Yelp, I came across Resume Professors because of their resume writing certification. Contacted the business and Ed replied very quickly with his level of experience as a staffing agency owner and multiple years of experience in the business of finding people jobs. I have written my own resumes in the past that have landed me middle management positions with big name companies like Verizon, but the resume that Ed created for me is executive quality and light years ahead of my own creations. My standards were very high, but Ed somehow managed to exceed them. He carefully and creatively articulated my skills into a beautiful resume which I'm positive will increase my visibility and stand out amongst others. I chose the middle tier package with the cover letter and thank you letter which were also impressively written and specifically curtailed to my skills and qualifications. Final Update: Summary of my experience: -Not worth your $$$, energy, time -Questionable business integrity -Late, poor quality service I've been disputing Edward's services with the BBB (Bureau for Better Business), and Edward finally set up a time to call me himself and resolve the matter personally. He blatantly admitted that things "fell through the cracks". The worst thing about this experience was honestly the questionable business integrity both during and after the service: During Service: -No offense, but I sent in my recent resume, and the edits were not really much better than what I had. AKA: not worth the $$$, time, energy. I edited my resume myself later, and never used his resume edits. -Not called promised "24 hours" after purchasing service -Resume not completed within promised time frame -- this late service was also called "expedited service" by Edward himself -Late to first phone-call meeting -Late to many other phone call meetings -Overall difficult to contact via phone and email, felt like tag and chase -Cover letter was a copy-paste of the resume -"Personalized Thank You Letter" should be called "Template to Make a Personalized Thank You Letter". You can find one on Google for $0. -No "Valuable Career Coaching and Career Advice" or "Personalized Career-Search Tips" - everything I've heard from friends, class, again: Google -Requested resume edits not followed through ..... After I sent My First BBB Complaint: -Edward created a timeline, which he commented on this review, as his defense. Almost all of these dates are completely off. I am unsure of how he mixed the dates up since they can so easily be verified by Google email dates....happy to provide screenshots. -Many other facts are inaccurate - which I **clearly told him** over phone (and email) (i.e. I told Edward I did not use his resumes and would be happy to verify with my prospective employers. However, he chose to ignore my honesty and claim otherwise...) After Edward Set Up Time to Try to Resolve the Situation at the Request of the BBB: -Admitted he basically "let things slip through the cracks" -Edward thanked me for this experience that has "taught him many things". Said he hired new administrative staff to work on his service -I told him about all these red flags about his business integrity, and he really couldn't comment -I requested a full-refund. I technically could have asked for a double or triple refund to compensate all the time, energy, bad service, and awful experience. I probably have enough evidence for a law suit as well. But I really don't want to ruin this man's life, just trying to be honest and make sure people don't rip me off and he doesn't rip you off. ***If you can fill out the resume form describing your experiences, you could probably just do your own resume...you know what you did best yourself*** Have confidence people, this is also a life skill you should probably know, since I'm guessing you will be changing at least 1 job in your life. Friends, family, teachers, co-workers... are all the fresh-set of eyes you need.
