I recently worked with Resume Scripter to revise my 3 page CV. To start, I am satisfied with the overall product. Andrea did the work I didn't have the time to do (re-organize, convert and re-format), but in retrospect, I wish I did more research, and went with the company that was more familiar with clinical research/research administration field. Bottom line, if you are a recent college grad or a mid level manager, this service would be absolutely perfect. For more senior level work, I suggest you look into a person/company who works directlyin the field you are in. Pros - re-formatted my CV, re-worded objectives and responsibilities, highlighted technical skills. Responsive and takes feedback for revisions well. Open lines of communication. I prefer email, but if you are a phone person, that will cost you additional. Cons - I provided Andrea with two job positing that I applied for to use as a point of reference. I do not feel that Andrea did the necessary research or used those positings to help inform the new CV. I ended up having to provide language for Andrea to use on the CV, as she said that she was not familiar with my field. The 1 page CV is $224.99 - Reasonable. There is also an additional fee of $95 per page, if your resume is more than 1 page- Reasonable. I was charged an additional fee of $95 for my CV being "executive" - still not sure why. The cover letter charge, which is not listed on the website a separate option, was quoted to me at $195 and non negotiable, which I decided not to purchase. read more

I may possibly recommend Resume Scripter if you need assistance with your resume, however, I do not recommend them if you are looking for career advice. While Andrea was always professional, the bulk of the career sessions were spent educating her on my field, taking assessment tests that did not help, and reviewing potential job opportunities that were not near anything I would consider in the future. The right questions were never asked. I expressed concern from the beginning as we didn't seem to be a good fit. She said it was very early and to trust the process. I did require to go off some of their contract regulations, however I feel these types of services should have a bit more flexibility to facilitate clients' needs. Resume Scripter's structure may not always work for every individual and field. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it until the process started. Andrea terminated our contract 65% into it because we didn't agree on several items, leaving my LinkedIn page incomplete and a few coaching sessions pending. Wish I knew this was an option earlier. The contract stated it was not cancelable/refundable. While I was refunded a quarter of what I invested, I didn't get the help I needed and misspent money. To those reading this review, research companies thoroughly and interview them to select one that will work for YOU. If you take the time to really think things through, you may be able to figure out what's next on your own. No one knows what is best for you as much as you do. In response to Andrea's note below: My role is not becoming obsolete. It is expanding/changing but it is still very much available, and it is not a reason for a career change. I understand there has to be a level of information provided for you to do your job, but it shouldn't absorbed most of the sessions. The suggestions received didn't align, which makes me wonder if you understood my field and what I was hoping to accomplish. Also, I, like you, didn't feel great about the work done with LinkedIn, especially after proprietary information was added when I asked not to include. The recruiter you connected me with had a position available 3,000 miles away, but the connection is still appreciated. While Andrea's initial delve into your past work is somewhat thorough, the final product was much less satisfactory, containing a few errors here and there. I will update my review this week with the results she sent me. Also, the cover page is literally a copy/paste, a verbatim restatement, of the resume; not concise in format, and very splayed out. HR does not have time to read a such a long cover letter, as has been made very evident to me by friends and colleagues in the respective industry. Since having used her services back in November of 2016, I have had to make substantial changes to the final product she prepared. Well, this is my first review on Yelp and I must say I'm not happy that I have to write this. I'm completing my graduate degree and beginning my job search. I knew my resume needed a lot of work and I want to put my best foot forward. So, I decided to put any search on hold until I had someone with expertise reformat what I currently have. After doing some online research, I found Andrea's website. I really liked the sample resume she has on her website, so I decided to send her an email to get the process started. When Andrea contacted me on June 15th, she said she would love to work with me, explained how the process worked, and told me that the process generally takes 10-15 business days. I was thrilled and thought that the timeframe was reasonable. So I sent her 2 job descriptions of jobs that I had interviewed for and sent her my deposit. And I waited. After two weeks with no followup...I sent her an email to check in. She answered back and sent along a questionnaire for me to fill out to provide her with more detailed information about my experience (a great idea). She also offered...for the cost of $65...an appointment with her associate for 50 minutes to go over this information over the phone. I decided to go with this option to push the project along. That was 2 weeks ago. And my draft? Haven't seen it. In fact, after sending another email and getting no response back, I finally had to send an email asking for my deposit back. It seems that Andrea is not interested in doing this job. That's my guess. There has been no communication. And I'm out $140. Over a month has gone by since we first made contact and I have nothing to show for it. It's been disheartening to say the least. If anyone out there knows of a reliable resume writer...please let me know...I'm back to square one. read more

It pains me to have to write this review anonymously because I stand by it 100%, but I do not necessarily want potential employers knowing I have utilized a professional resume writing service. Having said that, I am an avid Yelp user, with 32 reviews written to date since I began using Yelp in May of 2015. It is through Yelp that I found Andrea and her company, Resume Scripter. Quite frankly, I am surprised at all of the mostly positive reviews. After researching numerous resume writing services in the NYC area, I narrowed the choices down to two companies in Manhattan. Both Resume Scripter and the other company had high ratings, but Resume Scripter had a higher number of reviews in addition to the high rating, so I went with Resume Scripter. I first contacted Andrea through her website on 07/16/15 and over the course of a week, Andrea and I e-mailed back and forth several times. I had a few common questions regarding the process (ie, length of time from start to finish, whether the price included a reformat of my resume or if she would just be assisting with word revisions, and if the resume may be tailored for two different types of jobs). Andrea was fairly quick to respond to my inquiries. However, after asking one or two questions (listed above), I decided in the interest of saving time and ensuring nothing would be lost in "email translation," I asked if Andrea had "a moment" to speak over the phone. Please keep in mind, I was not asking for a 15-30 minute consultation for free; I simply thought it would be more time efficient for both of us to speak over the phone for no more than 5 minutes before I sent my deposit to Andrea. Two days later, she responded saying her week would be very hectic and she would only be able to respond via e-mail. She did mention I could call her 800 number and leave a message with one of her "associates" (more on that later) and they would be able to answer any questions I might have. She did offer a 30-45 minute phone conversation a week out. I found it odd that a) she could not make time for 5 minutes for a new client in the next few business days and b) she had an 800 number. Although my gut told me to go with another company (I had a bad feeling about someone that could not speak over the phone), I was eager to begin the process, so I could start applying for new positions. So, two days later, on 07/22/15 I sent my deposit and Andrea confirmed receipt. In Andrea's e-mails, she made it very clear that the first part of the process would involve her reviewing my resume and in 5-7 business days I would receive a list of questions. She said the entire process (from receipt of deposit to receiving the final resume) would be 10-15 business days. On 07/22/15, Andrea confirmed receipt of my deposit and said she would be sending me a list of questions in 5-7 business days. On the 8th business day, I e-mailed her to confirm that she did not require any additional information, since I had already provided her with my resume. No response. On 08/03/15 (the 9th business day), I left a message with one of her "associates." The following day, I left her another message and sent her a polite e-mail, in which I noted that I had left her two messages and would simply like an update on where she was in the process. Again, no response to my voice messages or my e-mails. At this time, I was growing frustrated. If she could not deliver in the promised timeframe, I had wasted that time and would need to start over with another company. On 08/04/15, I left my final message with her 800 number. After speaking with one of the "associates" I confirmed what I already had gathered; that she was using a reception service. Unfortunately, the reception service had already relayed my two previous messages to her as "urgent" with no response back. I'd like to note that I was also on vacation the week of August 3rd and did not appreciate having to deal with this on my one vacation during the year. When I received no response to my third (voice) message left with the reception service Andrea hired, nor a response to several e-mails sent directly to Andrea, I sent Andrea an e-mail on the 12th business day, notifying her that I was disputing the deposit with PayPal and requesting a refund. It both saddens and frustrates me that a business would operate in this manner, particularly with a time sensitive matter such as someone's job search. If she did not want or have time for my business, she should have let me know upfront. I have learned a very valuable lesson from this, which is to always trust my gut feeling. In this case, my gut told me to take my business elsewhere and I should have listened earlier. read more
