Complete and total scam. I ordered an advanced editing and didn't receive anything even 4 days past the deadline return date. I emailed them and didn't get a response for a week. They scammed me for 60 dollars. 2 days later, I received an invoice from them for 882 dollars saying I purchased a mail service????? Please do not waste your time and money in this company. They offer very poor service on editing your professional document. I signed up for the advanced service, 2 pages 700 words for $60. I chose the advance service cause I mostly want the editor's feedback and know if my writing is making it into the point about the project I am doing. Since I'm not a native English speaker, I, of course, was also hoping to use this service to polish my document into a more professional tone of writing. They turn my document back to me in the very last minute, with a document that seemed edit in a rush. I have to rewrite the whole thing all over again. And there are no editor's comments at all. They make my document all red and some unnecessary comments (because they don't understand the professional background I am doing) to make it like they've done tons of work. But those are really not the main point. I argue with them for a refund or review my document again, the custom service seemed nice and pro. They first offer me to have a senior editor review my document again. But then the very last mins, they no longer can offer me the service and said they will refund the money back to me. After a month later, I still do not receive my refund, and I sent almost 10 emails to them. By the way, their phone cannot be reached at all. The custom service acts like they are willing to help you out, to earn your trust, but it is all about acting. I haven't get my refund, and I waste so much time on this that is so not worth it. Discovered this service on-line. It's one of the most reasonably priced editing services compared to others. I paid about $13.00 (children's book). They charge per word. I was very pleased with the results. My only complaint, is that I did not get an email receipt from the company after purchase. I wasn't sure when I would be receiving my document back. There wasn't a deliverable time frame based on what I submitted. Not sure if they had questions etc... I had to call their office twice and send a couple of urgent emails before I received a response. I did get an email back today with my final edits. It took about a week to have my children's book reviewed. I'd use their services again. read more

Wow! I have never worked with such unprofessional, rude, and unethical people! Do NOT work with them. They will take your work, find an excuse not to pay you, then keep it. You will be in a group of 4 or 5 contractors who receive a proposal. The first to accept it gets the job, even though they state, "we recommend that you review the proposal before accepting it." After returning one job (74 pages), they said I didn't even run spell check (which I had, several times, along with pain-staking editing/proofreading). I asked for an example of what I missed. I couldn't even find that misspelling in the document I had returned; then a colleague told me I was wrong and to follow the instructions (and in that email, the Elite person had a typo!). They then cut me off and refused to pay me for the work I had returned--they kept my work! Coincidentally, when they took me on, they misspelled my name when they signed me up in their system. This is one of the worst, most unprofessional companies I have ever done business with. I have used Elite Editing for three or four times for work. Two of the times, we were on a tight deadline, and paid for the expedited, 24-hour service. Both of those times, I had to call and follow up with them, because it had been over 12 hours PAST the 24-hour deadline, and we still hadn't received our document back. Their work is extremely sloppy as well. Once we've incorporated their edits, we've passed off our document to multiple other readers to see if they catch anything. Our readers found DOZENS of typos, grammatical errors, and things that an editing service should not miss. Customer service is atrocious. When I've called, I've often reached a voicemail or have had to follow up a few times (even when I've talked to a human). One particular occasion, I was not sent a receipt (even though I received a receipt each time I previously submitted a document). When I contacted them asking for a receipt, I had to follow up before being told that I couldn't get a receipt. All that to say, we will never be using Elite Editing again. We gave them a few tries/chances, and each time they let us down. I'd advise anyone who cares about smart customer service and quality work to take their business elsewhere. read more

I really love Elite's corporate account services; having an e-mail contact, sending everything to one person, and knowing a single style guide will be followed by any editor who works on my stuff is just what I needed! I used it several times. The most recent experience was horrible. I paid for 24 hour service, but my document didn't come back 12 hours passed the 24 hour deadline. I sent several emails and called the service line (answering machine...don't expect anyone would call me back). Not single word of explanation. Be very careful using this service. I paid for expedited editing for a document and the work was not done. When I contacted them they acknowledged the work was not completed. Here is the email I received: Hi, We have received your emails and calls and wanted to update you that given our current mid-term rush of papers we have not been able to complete the edit of your submission at this time. We will be happy to refund your payment or, if you can give us a little more time, we can try to assign it to an editor when one becomes available. Please let us know how you would like us to proceed. Thank you, Elite Editing Three emails and four phone calls later I still have not received a refund or heard back from their accounts manager. It has been over a month. Finally my bank got involved to reverse the charges. It makes no sense why they would risk their reputation for one payment for work they didn't do. AVOID! You get what you pay for. If you want a good job, hire a real editor. These folks are not professionals. They send the work out to freelance editors, and pay those editors peanuts--if they get around to paying at all. Me, I'm still waiting to be paid, two months later. And I know from the work I did for them: they want quick, not accurate. Not sure which is worse: Charging clients for half-finished work, or not paying their subcontractors. AVOID! read more

Very VERY weak. I found a ton of issues after I received my manuscript back. There's no way to find out who is editing your work or their background. Lack of communication, I kept being told I would get a call back after inquiring about simple question and a week later I was finally answered. Way to impersonal. Def wasted $1300. I would NOT recommend working with this company. A document was sent in and payment was taken for a 24 hour turnaround. It is well past the 24 hour time frame that was guaranteed and I have not received a thing...although payment posted to my account. **AVOID** Elite Editing is easily one of the worst companies I have ever experienced (and that is saying a lot as I have done business on three separate continents). Bottom line is they put all their money into looking and sounding good in order to draw in possible clients. However do not perform the task they are paid to do and also have extremely bad customer service. In my experience, I trusted their slogan on the Elite Editing home page of "Our Promise On Time & Error Free" and paid them a good amount of money to perform basic proof editing. I paid extra because of an important deadline I needed the documents back in time for. However the following day- the documents never came even though they had already been paid in full for the services. I called their number once it was clear the documents were not coming and it just went to a voice mail. I had to send the documents last minute to another online editing services -pay extra again- and was up until nearly 3:00 am. I ended up leaving two voice mail messages and three calls to the secretary asking for a manger to call me back. This took place over a six day period and they did not refund my money until the eight day of the ordeal. Elite Editing did not perform any task they were paid to do, placed me in an incredibility stressful situation, and operates with the business professionalism of a developing country.
