Life-changing results and a TRULY caring team! I honestly can't say enough good things about Restorative Permanent Makeup (RPM). My experience with them over the years has been incredible. I'm writing this review as an update because I am forever grateful to Vanessa and her team of experts. Three years ago, I originally went in for scar camouflage for some surgical scars I had that made me very self-conscious because they were on my face & neck. Having them "camouflaged" changed my whole outlook! It made me back into the sociable person I was before! What's also great about Vanessa & their staff is they are all super-positive people & it flows over into everything they do. They all get very excited to see the amazing results their clients get! It's a very uplifting experience every time. If anyone is dealing with scars and doesn't realize there are options, I hope this encourages you to look into it! Vanessa, the owner, did my treatment and her skill and artistry are amazing. What stood out just as much was how kind and compassionate she was throughout the process. Vanessa took the time to explain everything and made sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. Before coming to RPM, I didn't even know scar camouflage for surgical scars was possible! I'm SO grateful to a friend who found Vanessa for me! The results have made such a difference -- she truly helped me feel like myself again. I went for one full session & 3 touchups to get it perfect, but it's PERFECT! She uses a very conservative approach which I appreciated. What she does is truly an art & you never want to rush an artist! After seeing how wonderful my results were, I also had my permanent eyebrows done and lip blush, and I am so incredibly happy with both!! The results are so natural and beautifully done. And guess what else? I was tired of seeing my husband using "Just For Men" mustache color for his eyebrows & I gently suggested we could do something more permanent & MUCH more natural looking & he agreed to have Vanessa give him permanent brows! They look FANTASTIC! They aren't "perfect" like mine but men don't want or shouldn't have "perfect" IMO. No one would ever know! We are in our 60's so gray is the norm for Men's brows & Vanessa blended colors to make them look so natural! My husband is truly thankful for not having to mess with his brows anymore! Their office is beautiful and they make you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. The whole team at RPM is fantastic. Emily, who does the scheduling & answers questions, is always so friendly & helpful. And Kaylee, another very talented artist there, is incredibly warm as well. I live north of Temecula so it's a little drive but oh so worth it! And who doesn't want to spend the day in beautiful La Jolla! I always look forward to my "dates" there! I had a scar from a surgery that looked terrible. I went to a dermatologist for years and I didn't see a change. Finally, I decided to try to camouflage it and decided to google "scar camouflage". I went to the first place that came up on the internet and it was a waste of money and time. After going there twice and no change to scar, I googled the same subject. What a great experience I had with Vanessa. I have been wanting to get my eye brows tattooed but was afraid of the outcome as other friends went other places to get them done and one did not have a good result too dark and the other girl when thru a hard time with the healing process. Over the months I had talked to Vanessa and had the opportunity to get to know her. I loved her brows. They looked natural and just beautiful. After many years of struggle to paint my own brows every morning I realized I could no longer do it to my liking. I spent more time wiping and reapplying with a powder way too dark for my skin tone. On my 72nd birthday I saw Vanessa and started to talk to her and decided to gift myself brows. We had a consultation. I had 1 brow way higher than the next so with her being an artist that she is she was able to even them out a bit so they were not so out of alignment. She's amazing with pigmentation and chose the perfect color to match my hair color and skin tone. The next week I had it done and it was so easy. The after care was easy as well. Today I went in for a follow up and Vanessa touched up a couple of little areas I absolutely love the end result. I would never go anywhere else. Her office is easy to get too. Vanessa is a true artist and you are in great hands with her. She did an amazing job with my lip blushing and it's so nice to not have to wear lipstick. Last Friday 10/20/23 I went to Vanessa Dougherty in La Jolla, CA. She is truly an artist with exceptional attention to details. Her office reflects the importance of an extremely clean environment. Her technique is one of an experienced professional. She helps to minimize the pain with a medical grade numbing product and made sure I was comfortable during the process. A little over 15 years ago, I made a bad choice in selecting a permanent make-up artist. My eyebrows need to be a medium blonde, and I showed the person what color I wanted and she said she could do it - no problem. In a week-and-a-half when the crust peeled off, I was shocked to find that she had used heavy black ink. Even worse than that, the two brows were not even close to symmetrical. I thought they would fade over a couple of years, but it turned out that the ink had been put in so thick and deep that it did not fade. After several years with no further fading, I went through a painful series of laser tattoo removal treatments with the result that the black finally widened and evolved into an ugly gray - although, at least, it was quite a bit lighter - but it was quite a mess. After interviewing several permanent make-up artists, I got my eyebrows tattooed again with a totally inadequate result that came out pink and was drowned by the gray. Fortunately, that one faded withing a matter of months without any further laser removal treatments. With the help of a referral from a well-known plastic surgeon's office, I was given Vanessa's name. Three weeks ago, I showed Vanessa the big problem that I had. She was confident that she would be able to correct it, and give me the look that I wanted. In one treatment, she gave me beautiful, symmetrical medium blonde brows, and she neutralized the surrounding grey areas so that my natural skin tone is restored. I am absolutely convinced that Vanessa is in a class by herself as both an artist and as a technical expert working with tattooing pigments to get just the right color, taking into account skin tones and, in my case, even bad leftover pigment coloration.
