I don't believe this woman should be doing permanent make up. Not at all. I had the same experience as another one star client. I should've ran as well. All the same red flags: Disorganized. Scattered.Talking more than listening. Not asking questions. She used this app that was supposed to make this "perfect brow" and she kept going on about this French man who designed the app and it was so amazing. I showed her two pictures of me with my brows the way I would like them and she barely looked at the pictures for a second. I had no idea what was going on with the blue dots and the outline on my face...I figured it was some weird outline from the app. I had no idea that was the literal eyebrow. It was insane! I looked like a punk rock gangster. When she was putting on more anesthetic and I stopped and asked to look at the brow halfway through I could not believe what she was drawing on my face. I wish I could attach a picture to this so you could see for yourself what I'm talking about. I literally have a brow above my brow. Beware! Do your research and go to a true professional that asks a lot of questions and listens to you. I said subtle and classy and if you could see what my brows look like, you would be appalled. I was worried about getting things right, but if anything she was more of a perfectionist than me! Now that I have my eyebrows done, I'm wondering, what took me so long??!! Before, I used a brush and eye shadow to fill them in everyday. I was referred to Jen from a friend who worked with one of her clients. My friend remarked that the end result looked no different than her coworkers daily/usual fill in job...very natural looking. That really got my attention, so I scheduled a consultation with her. I was nervous because this would be permanent and this is my face we're talking about! Besides, I'm part of the small population on the planet with NO tattoos!! So the idea of the pain on top of the reality that this is permanent was scary. Jen was the best! She made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. She took her time showing me photos and explaining things to me. The fact that she's a professional artist and has some of her beautiful work on her studio walls was very comforting and made me feel like I was in the right place to take such a huge step. So I decided to have my eyebrows done that day!! Jen was very patient and made sure we settled on the right ink color and outlined the perfect eyebrows. I put them on the way I usually do each day and she went over them and added her "artist touch" !! The size, shape, and evenness of them were perfect when she was done outlining them. I am very happy I choose Jenifer to do my eyeliner touchup. So happy I went back a few days later and had my brows done, microblading. It completely opened my eyes and I do love the look. Jenifer takes her time and wants to be sure you are happy with the results. I've gone back for a brow touchup approximately 6 weeks later, and am pleased with the results. However, if you do have previous eyebrow tatoos, as I did, you might want to take into consideration how they fit into the new tatoo microblading. Can make your brow look a thicker then the brow Jenifer does, as she professionally lines up the brows properly to your face using a computer program. Jenifer can either match the skin color to fill in the old tatoo making it less visible, as I did, or remove it. Only reason I gave a 4 over a 5. I've been going to Jenifer Bloomberg for several years now getting touch ups for my eyebrows first for full fill and now for microblading. I also had her do my eyeliner, upper and lower and the wet liner or the inner eyelid liner. She's the only person I know who would probably do that. Most people would not do it. Jennifer did a great job planning and creating the perfect shape for our eyebrows. She did my Sister's also. Just the shaping of the eyebrows alone took so much time, but she got the shapes right PERFECTLY. The hairstrokes do look natural. We didn't want a full on tattoo, which is obvious. Several people have complimented us, and they plan to go to her also. Jennifer took her time to make them perfect. Touch up is necessary, but I just see a couple spots. It is impossible for Jennifer to see the final product until after the brows heal. She knows her stuff!!! To those who complained about her availability, she really takes the time out to do a great job, and it is worth the wait. She does her own scheduling and never answered the phone, nor was she texting others while we were with her during the whole time we were there, because she was dedicating her time to us!! I purchased a Groupon for permanent eyeliner with Jennifer. When I (finally) got a return call from her for an appointment ... mind you, I left several messages before she returned my call, she asked me to cancel my Groupon and pay her directly the cost of the Groupon because she loses $ when she honors Groupons ... but I didn't. That should've been my first clue! When I walked into her studio I found it to be very disorganized and messy. She had music playing loudly, which during the procedure I had to ask her to turn down so we could hear each other. She didn't have my paperwork ready that I had to fill out and sign before she could do the procedure ... and then the forms she gave me weren't correct and she told me that It didn't really matter. Yikes! I was beginning to feel a bit concerned about her credibility and competency. When we finally got started with the procedure, she chatted incessantly, and told me several times about the terrible financial situation she's in due to uncontrollable personal issues, which she shared with me. That made me uncomfortable. I felt sorry for her but also felt it wasn't professional for her to share. She's a sweet lady and a talented artist (her artwork hangs on her tiny office walls) BUT I can't say she did the best job with my eyeliner ~ it was ok...not great but not awful either ... just OK. Several times she got numbing solution in my eye which was annoying. She told me before I left that I should make a "touch up" appointment 4+ weeks out and that it was included in the price. Cool, right? It's now been 8+ weeks so I contacted her about the touch up. She informed me that the cost is more than she can afford to absorb these days so would have to charge me. I reminded her that she told me originally that it was included. She said she was sorry. Well, you know that I'm NOT going back! There are SOOOOO many other places to have permanent eye makeup done. I had my eye liner done by Jen a few years ago and am very happy with how they look. So, I decided to have her do my eye brows. Jen is very thorough. She explained the process and took a lot of time drawing out my eye brows. She ensured that I was happy prior to doing any micro blading. Jennifer is a very nice person and a good artist. But in my opinion, she has no business doing permanent makeup. I had my brows done by her last year. She wanted to raise the brow line, which was a good idea, except that she used a titanium based coloring agent that was supposed to match my skin tone to cover up an old tattooed brow. As it turns out, it was not flesh colored but shows up as a white color that can only conceal with a concealer. And, more seriously, there is no way to get it off and if one got a lazer treatment at that location for any reason, I have been warned it would turn black. I went to someone else to fill in spots that were missing on my brows from Jennifer's application and ask about removing the white area, and learned that it is highly improper to use titanium in permanent make-up. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the business. I purchase 2 coupons from Groupon - one for a 3D brow and another for upper and lower eye lids back in January. I tried calling the business to make my appointment, but I was never able to talk to anyone. After trying to contact them for a week or so without any luck, I decided to drive by to see if I could speak to someone. The receptionist told me that Jenifer only rents a chair out of the place and that she wasn't really good about managing and/or maintaining her appointments. The receptionist gave me a cell number to contact her and also advised me to text her instead of calling because Jenifer did not answer her phone at all (sigh...) After I finally got a response from Jenifer via text, I was able to make an appointment - which was 2 months out. I did text Jenifer to check if she had any cancellations a couple of times so I could get my appointment sooner, but she never responded. Finally, on the day of my appointment I arrived at the business and was told by the receptionist that Jenifer was running late and that I should probably text her because she had another appointment already waiting for her. After waiting for almost 1 hour, I was able to talk to Jenifer via text so she could tell me that she made a mistake with her booking and could not see me that day or any other day unto another 3 weeks or so (seriously???) I had changed a bunch of commitments to clear that day so I could have the time to do my procedure with tranquility. I had to get a sitter to take care of my twins and she didn't even seem to care much about any of it. Im sorry for not reading some of the yelp's reviews before purchasing my services - as many others had the same problem as well. She is very unprofessional! Jen is a delightful person and a great oil painter but she did a terrible job on my eye brows. She used cheap product and cut way too deep in her lines and made a very unnatural look to my brows. The color she mixed is way off and looks terrible. I have had to pay for 3 different sessions with a different tattoo removal process to try to un-do the thick, deep, unnatural brow that I received. It has been expensive and painful to try to remove the brow that Jen did. It has been over one year and I am still trying to fix this problem. When I addressed the problem with Jen she simply said I had signed the waiver so I'm on my own...... read more

As far as the work itself she was amazing. She made me very comfortable & was nice. My first experience was great. She told me it came with a free touch up as sometimes the ink would lighten or not stick in spots. Then came time for my touch up appointment (in addition to the touch up I wanted to go thicker. I expected to pay an additional fee).I texted her a total of 4 times and called 2 times over a few weeks before I got a response. We set the appointment for April about 7 to 8 weeks away. My phone with my planner in it was stolen so I was not sure when my appointment was. Again I texted & called and still have not heard back. I know my appointment was prior to today so I guess I will be going else where for my service. Its sad because as I mentioned the actual procedure was a great experience. I had almost no eyebrows from over plucking so I really needed to get them done. I didn't just want the magic marker look that so many women have these days.. and I'd heard of the hair stroke method, so I researched many permanent makeup artists in the San Diego area. When I came upon Jennifer's place, The Artist's Touch I noticed the art work. Wow! If she can paint like that, then I'd be really interested to talk to her. Yes, I had a consultation with her just to see if I liked her and felt good about going to her. I have never had the patience to apply makeup, so I never wear anything but a little lipstick. But one day a friend, who also is an "au naturel" person came by wearing eyeliner, and she looked great. I wanted to wear it too. However, I am a makeup klutz, and when I tried to draw it on, it just wouldn't come out right. I had heard of permanent eye makeup years ago, but never tried it. It seemed to me that when it comes to anything to do with the eyes, I want only a highly professional trained person to do the work. I never knew of such a person. But in the past year or so friends in La Jolla told me about Jenifer Broomberg. They told me two important pieces of information. First, she is an excellent, accomplished artist. This information was relayed by an artist friend, who is highly critical of other artists. Secondly, her husband is a physician. Both of these facts were important to me, as they suggested that she would do esthetically pleasing work, and that she had a background, through her husband, in the essentials of medical hygiene, so necessary when applying facial tattoos. The last thing in the world I needed was an infection. I took the plunge and contacted Jenifer. She came through in every possible way. I would give her ten stars if that were possible. She applied permanent liner to the top and bottom lids of my eyes. People ask if it hurt. It did. Although she applied anesthetic that blunted the pain, it felt similar to an electric toothbrush or drill on the eye. I really didn't like the feeling. But Jenifer was as good as the best mother. I squirmed and sighed and she comforted me all along the way, and made it easy to continue on. I am really a pain baby, but I would do it again in a heartbeat because the results are so terrific. First, you really can't notice that the liner is on unless it is pointed out. Then if you look directly you see it, and as an illusion the lashes look thicker and darker as well. This is the effect I wanted. The results are powerful. Almost every old friend I met greeted me by telling me how wonderful I looked, and that there was something different about me. I knew it must be the liner. The results were as rejuvenating as a facelift. So now I am recommending Jenifer Broomberg to anyone who is interested. Finally after several days she says she's so booked up and makes you an appointment for 2 months later. I waited and then called and text the day before to get a confirmation and address, no response. At 11:30 pm she text that her assistant never put the appointment in the books and somehow she never got my message. (O really, after 2 calls and 2 texts) she then texts can I come the next day? No, I respond but please call and let's rebook. Never got an answer. What kind of business women is this? Why advertise and do a Groupon if you won't even call clients back.
