Then he works with me to manage my pain and since I started going to his clinic I am finally stable. When I first started going to his clinic I was in so much pain from my fibromyalgia, and ruptured disks in my back that when Terri Clawson, the PA I was originally seeing, touched me to check the sensitivity of the pressure points I was flinching away, then by the time she was finished I was sobbing. Terri left a few years ago to start her own business and partially retire. I decided to stay with Dr Chen and Alta Pain Physicians for a couple of reasons. One being I liked everyone I had seen at the clinic. They were all understanding, kind, and were knowledgeable about managing pain. And secondly because I had already had my primary care physician, who was managing my pain, retire on me. I didn't want to go through that again, if I could help it. I had already gone through a horrible experience trying to find a new doctor / ain clinic to help me. This other pain clinic i was going to just before coming to Alta Pain Physicians was a horrendous experience and was part of the reason I was flaring so much and in so much pain when I first came to the clinic. I definitely didn't want to go through that again. After Terri left I started seeing Shane Green. He was terrific too. He was able to work with me and after I started working remotely I was feeling even better since I could lay down on my breaks if I needed to and I didn't have to drive 40 minutes one way to work & home each day, plus getting up early enough to dress up each morning and all of that nonsense when you need to wear business dress for work. I was able to decrease the medicine I was taking because of working from home. There wasn't a bunch of pressure to do this but I was feeling so much better and I felt it was time to try to decrease my pain medicine. I was able to decrease my pain meds by 50% Shane said. I don't know if it was that much but it was signific and Shane said he was really proud of me since I did that all in my own. But the clinic helped me to much that it was't really on my own. They sent me to do some physical therapy with Mountain Land physical therapy, they specialize in patients with fibromyalgia. I hadn't been able to do much physical therapy before because it made me hurt more due to my fibromyalgia problems. But they found this place that stated the specialize in these patients and they were good to their claims. During this time I also was afflicted with neuropathy because my B12 became so low. I had to do daily injections for a while. And this is something that never goes away once your afflicted with it. So even though I was feeling a lot better I still had issues that will probably be ongoing, probably lasting for the rest of my life. That is kind of depressing but I have been dealing with the fibromyalgia for about 20 years. So, I guess I'm kind of used to it and I am still doing much better!! Shane left the clinic about a year ago and I really miss him. But Dr Chen takes excellent care of me even with some of the PA's leaving. He understands where I am at and where I have been. He's a talented kind doctor! I have never known a doctor who when he gives you an injection and you flinch, he apologizes. But that's his nature. I appreciate all he has and continues to do for me!!

I don't love that I have to be treated here, but I really do love the doctors here. I've been here…read morefor 2 or 3 years. And they are always quick. I've never been there over an hour. I appreciate their effectiveness, but willingness to treat me as an individual. Dr Raj has always remembered me since the very beginning. He knew personal things about me and always brought them up. They are quick and efficient, but I have never felt like a number being pushed through the conveyor belt like I have at other doctors (like an OB when I was pregnant- that was sad!!) Dr Raj often jokes and makes me feel more comfortable during procedures or appointments. I feel like he is a friend. He knows what my insurance requires and how to get what I need while using my coverage. Since I've been going for years, I get interested in things they are doing or seeing during procedures so I sometimes ask questions. He is so great to answer things and let me know what is going on. I never feel uncomfortable, even when I'm getting shots in my tailbone and am rather....exposed. He is respectful and professional. Anna, the PA (I think) is awesome too! She is so caring and takes time to talk if you ask. Again, she does have a pattern of the way she asks questions, does the prescriptions, and leaves, but that's just because they see so many people in a day and if there are no other needs, then why not be fast? But I've had her administer trigger point injections or stay and talk during my medication refill appointment. I know she cares and wants what is best for me. She's been honest when I've asked about my future and where my treatment is going. I really appreciate her. Some of the nurses are also memorable and great. At least I think they are nurses. Or assistants of some type. I'm not sure titles. I would know their names if I heard them, but can't recall them all. One, I think Stephanie, loves Batman and has a lot of personality. She is fun and makes me feel comfortable. There is also an older woman who helps with procedures. I always feel a little better when I see her. It means the procedure is close and I'm in good hands. She's funny and very knowledgeable. She takes time to explain what she's seeing as she sets up they X-ray. She has experience as a patient and professional, so she understands what it feels like as well as what is going on. She often makes jokes and is so fun. Together these professionals make me feel welcome and well taken care of. I went to another pain clinic before this and I hated going. I waited forever. The doctors were cold. I was a number. It was terrible. I'm so glad I changed doctors and feel grateful to be a patient here.

This review comes 5 years after my treatment at the Theta Wellness Center in Provo, UT. I traveled…read moreto the center from out of state, on the recommendation of an acquaintance, seeking help with severe depression and anxiety. At first, the treatment felt great. I was happier than I had been in a long time. I loved the light bed and the energy work. The staff was nice. But the problems didn't become clear to me until years after I had completed treatment and returned home. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the theta chamber. I know it is well-intended. And it does its job, but it does it out of the context of the whole human experience. It encourages "normal" levels of neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin. This sounds like a good thing, but those neurotransmitters help you interpret your life experiences--what behaviors should be rewarded and which ones should be avoided. In my case, the theta chamber treatment threw me so far out of balance I wasn't aware of it until years later. Things may have changed in the last 5 years since I received treatment. However, I would recommend caution when choosing any method that would treat one part of you in isolation of others. And by "others," I mean the habits, relationships, environments, and life experiences that play a part in shaping you to be the person you have become. I'm in a good place and happy with my progress. I found other options that work well for me. And I hope the same for all those who are looking for healing and balance!

My experience with Theta Wellness Center was so positive. First of all, I appreciated the time…read morespent with me the day before and the day of my appointment. What could have been an emotionally overwhelming experience was beautiful and transformative instead. Next, after my scheduled time in the Theta chamber, I was in such an open and "clean-slate" state, that my NLP session with Mike Simpson got to the very core of my core issues. I didn't even realize what my problems were, let alone the source of them. Needless to say, the chance to "get it all out" has changed me dramatically. The awareness of my life-long self conflict has helped me avoid triggers, which has kept me floating along in a state of bliss. I am so grateful to Theta Wellness Center for introducing me to ME!
