I had a 8am appointment on Valentine's Day. I arrived 15 minutes early. The office was not yet open and I was not acknowledged when the first hygienist arrived. The Front Desk Receptionist greeted me and let me in. Two people with 8 o'clock appointments arrived at 7:57am and were called back before me shortly after 8. I guess the best was saved for last because a traveling hygienist, Joyce conducted my cleaning. Joyce is amazing, professional and gave great dental tips. There seems to be a lot of turnover in your office because there is always someone new there. You should hire Joyce full time. She was amazing. Dr. H is always great. read more

I picked this dentist based on a few online reviews I saw. The last dentist (the Clark's in Reston) I had went to I was very disappointed with because of problems billing insurance, getting an appointment, and dealing with the hygienists that didn't know what they were doing. My main reason for trying to find another dentist was that I had a wisdom tooth that had been making me miserable for the better part of 3 weeks, so I knew it needed to come out. I won't rate the experience of the actual pulling of the tooth, because, let's face it, 5 stars on extraction is not something ANYONE would give :-P After filling out a good bit of paperwork, gave all the needed forms and whatnot, I was led into a clean, well lit dental area, with TVs tuned to CNN or Animal Planet. Something nice to watch as people yank on you for 20 minutes :) On repeat vists, I've been impressed with the office staff more and more. They can actually bill Aetna correctly, and are knowledgeable and understanding when I question them about what would be covered and what wouldn't be. Another minor plus, they send text messages reminding you of the appointment in a week. This goes a long way to helping me remember when I booked the appointment in the first place. :) read more

My husband, teenage daughter & I have been patients of Reston Dental Center for (5+) years now. I found them while living in Reston and although we've moved to Cascades, still make the drive for our appointments. Our technician, Johnny, is Awesome! Very nice w/ great 'bed side' manner. He explains everything as he's cleaning so you know what's going on or what may need to be done. He does a great job of making you feel comfortable despite what's going. After the cleanings my teeth always feel/look great! Although the visits with Dr. Hong are brief (which is fine because that means there are no problems), he is always very pleasant and nice. The office staff is also always very courteous, willing to assist and their email appointment reminders are very helpful. The office is always clean and very welcoming with individual TVs in the lobby/cleaning rooms and a computer/kids corner to occupy the little ones. They have a coffee/tea/drink station and the space is very bright with all the big windows and glass throughout. Best part, they have Saturday appointments which is very beneficial for us since our work week is spent in DC and Tyson's! We'll definitely be patients of Reston Dental Center for many more years to come! read more

You couldn't ask for a better place to go to for a routine cleaning or for some more complicated procedures such as having crowns, veneers, fillings and so much more done professionally! I would give this dental practice six stars if I could! Unfortunately, our family has recently relocated to Henderson, Nevada, so this is one dental practice that I am most reluctant to discontinue. This office is so welcoming and cheerful. You are treated as a valued client as soon as you walk in. The waiting room is very pleasant. In the waiting area there is a big screen TV, a tea and coffee bar, and a comfortable seating area with magazines. However, the wait is very brief because you are ushered in after only a few minutes by the welcoming staff. The dental rooms are tastefully done and very comfortable. There is a flat screen TV hanging up where you recline so you can serenely watch a show while the friendly staff take care of you. Dr. Jason Hong is very personable, warm and professional. I feel really cared for regardless of the procedure, and some of them were more serious dental issues. I loved having my teeth cleaned there and feeling so fresh afterwards! The short version: A fantastic experience. I highly recommend this dental office if you value professionalism and quality care. The longer version: I found Reston Dental Center after doing a search for a local dentist. I had to find a new dentist because my old dentist was no longer a viable solution. I was very pleased with what I found. The center is tucked in the corner of what seems to be a business center. The "waiting room" is open and has nice comfortable seats and a large screen TV for you to entertain yourself while waiting, although my wait has never been more than 5 minutes. They also have a Keurig-style coffee service, which seems to be well stocked, although I have never used it. The receptionists always know my name and always greet me with a smile. Perhaps that sounds cheesy, but it's better than someone hiding behind a glass wall, who barely pays attention to you. They truly seem to be nice people. The dental assistants and dentists themselves are also very nice people. They genuinely seem happy to be there, and they seem to have a good rapport with each other. This definitely helps to ease anyone who may be afraid of going to the dentist. "Ok! Ok! Enough with the social skills of the employees," you're saying. ""It's great that they are nice, but do they know what they're doing?" Well, I agree with you. If all I wanted nice, I can get that anywhere. The good news is that yes, these dentists do indeed know what they are doing. At the very least, they haven't tried to put a filling in my eyeball, and that's a great step! Before getting to the dentists themselves, I want to note that I was extremely impressed with their "tech level". They used a digital x-ray system on me and were immediately able to pull the x-rays up on the computer screen for analysis. Their records are also kept electronically, which also endeared them to me. Any questions I had, they were more than willing to answer. So, to the care provided. Unfortunately, I have an extremely difficult time with my teeth. I take care of them as best I can, but I have had a lifetime of troubles with them. When I went to the Reston Dental Center for the first time, they did their initial checkup and then we discussed what issues they saw and asked about any issues I was having. They explained what I was doing well and what I needed to improve on (flossing! ugh!), and scheduled the work I needed to have done. Before doing any work, they always consulted with me on the estimated price and what they expected my portion to be and what my insurance would cover. They prioritized the work I needed to have done, and did it as scheduled and did it well. The times when I felt like there was a potential issue, they invited me to come back and discussed any issues I was having (my bite felt weird) and cleared up the issue without charging me. They then followed up with me (via e-mail and a phone call) to ensure that my problem was taken care of, and told me not to hesitate to call back if I had any issues whatsoever. Another great service that they provide (I'd say 'icing on the cake', but it is a dentist; I don't think they would like that phrase!) is an appointment reminder service via text message. They send one a few days out and then one the day of (I believe) your appointment as a final reminder. I know this may seem like an over-zealous review, and perhaps it is. But that's because I know that this dentist really is a "five-star" dentist. After 25 years of undergoing mediocre care, including 12 years of going to a military dentist, I truly am happy with the care I receive at Reston Dental Care. I've always dreaded visits to the dentist... but have found a safe haven in the hands of Dr. Hong and Dr. Hahn. All of my visits (and there have been many) to this office have been quite enjoyable and entertaining. Both doctor's and staff are warm and welcoming and treat their patients with the utmost care. They are professional, gentle and have a great sense of humor. Although I may walk out of the office drooling because of the lidocaine, I always have a smile on my face... or at least half a smile due to the numbing. I have been visiting Reston Dental for over a year now. Their office is nice and modern, as are their business practices. They only seem to hire friendly staff across all of their positions, and it's refreshing to experience top notch customer service for medical services. I have done checkups, deep cleanings, and most recently a filling. I was most impressed when getting my filling done, as I received the perfect amount/placement of novocaine such that I was not uncomfortable during the procedure, but was immediately able to get on with my life afterwards with minimal awkwardness. The billing is straightforward and I have never had to interact with my insurance despite many opportunities for a paperwork mix-up. Another plus is that I am always able to get myself a Saturday appointment, as I am not a fan of missing work. read more

**** Caution **** This place is a scam. I had a call from my dental assistant yesterday reminding me of the appointment for today. I asked her what is the appointment for? She replied, it is for the follow up for the last visit which was 3 months ago. I asked her, is it one my semi-annual check ups? She replied, no this is something special we need to do to the gums. I asked if it will be out of my pocket? She replied yes it will be $90. I asked her but I paid you guys $125 for my last visit (for that so called deep cleaning). I am not going to pay you again for my this visit. What happened to my 2 free annual visits. She replied you have to wait for 3 months for your next semi-annual visit otherwise insurance will not approve it. So I told her to cancel my appointment and I will wait till the 3 months time is over. She asked me to hold on while she will check something in her system. Guess what, all of a sudden, this visit turned out to be covered by insurance. No charges for the "special gum treatment". And I am also over my 3 months waiting period. All this happened because I asked her to "cancel my appointment". This place is a scam. They push you time and again for the extra service. You have to very careful if you want to get service at this place. I will report these people to Dental Association and Better Business Bureau and my Insurance Company. My last visit was my first visit in couple of years. And they charged me $125 for deep cleaning. And I had deep cleaning done in the past, it was nothing like it. It was just regular cleaning and they charged me for it. They keep pushing you for extra services. You need this, you need that. That's why I stopped going to them. I think the dental assistants at this location also work on commission. That's why they keep pushing you for additional services. My previous dentist at this place, she never asked me to do anything. Very professional, very straight forward. But this new dentist, has already given me somewhere 3k worth of dental work required. read more

I switched to Reston Dental about two years ago after having a bad cleaning experience elsewhere, and I could not be happier. The staff at Reston Dental is professional, friendly, and reliable. They also are located in a nice office that I always feel comfortable coming to. I've had fillings and regular cleanings done with them and been happy with all my visits. When I arrive for appointments, I am never kept waiting and for a cleaning they get me in and out within the hour (sometimes even within thirty minutes!). I original picked this dentist office because of the reviews I read and I'm so happy I did. Dr. Hong and Dr. Hahn as well has all of their staff have been incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. They make going to the dentist not a bad thing to dread and I used to hate it. Brian, the office manager/assistant is great at working with you and making sure your needs is met as well as dealing with any issue with your insurance if they may arise. Also the staff is great with making you feel welcome every time! As for the work Dr. Hong and Dr. Hahn perform, it's marvelous. I've had a lot of work done/redone since I trust them so much. With other dentists I used to feel like I was imposing if I needed something done right away but they have always fit me in without hesitation. They are also open on Saturday which is nice. The office is clean, has TV's, and good music playing which is a plus. read more

Dr. Hong has been my dentist for the past 3 years. He always takes the time to explain exactly what he is doing, and why it is needed. I had some fillings done, and he did an excellent job. His office is immaculate, and all the staff is very friendly. The office seems to have all the latest technology, even a CT scanner. I had bought a Groupon to get an exam at the Reston Dental Center that included a teeth cleaning and x-rays (They actually sent me to their Tysons office Dental Design). Since I don't have dental insurance anymore and haven't been to the dentist in many years this seemed like a good deal to buy. My first impression of the office was nice and clean and the reception was friendly. I was taken into the back and the hygienist took my x-rays. The dentist, Dr. Hong, came in and looked at my x-rays. Not even 30 seconds in the room he said I had 11 cavities. I was shocked and knew that there must have been some mistake. He showed me the x-rays and I could barely see anything. As he was poking around in my mouth he told the hygienist to make note of 2 teeth that needed extraction. WHAT?! After that he then tried to persuade me about cosmetic dental procedures to close up a small space. The hygienist mentioned "Maybe we should focus on more important things." When I was leaving I asked the receptionist to email me the x-rays so I could have a copy. I had also asked her why I needed 2 teeth extracted and if there were cavities in them couldn't they just be filled? She went and asked the doctor and he contradicted himself and said that the teeth were fine. I'm not pulling teeth unless there is a legitimate reason. Which there wasn't. I told my roommate about this because I thought she might have some advice since she used to work for an Endodontist (Dentist who does root canals). She seemed to think that it wasn't accurate and something didn't sound right either. I went back to my family dentist for a second opinion about this and showed him my x-rays and he was livid. He said "What 11 cavities?!" Because he knew my dental history the best he knew there wasn't any way that I could have had that many in the 20 years he has seen me. I have had 1 cavity when I was 21 and I am now 25. He re-checked my teeth and said there was maybe 1 cavity that needed attention but not 11. I feel like this dentist is purely trying to nit-pick at anything just to squeeze my money out of me. No thanks! Good thing I had moral sense to get a second opinion. read more
