We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.

There are two buildings - the main one with the breakfast area (and hot tub) and the other building where we stayed. We enjoyed it - and it was quiet. The breakfasts were made with great care. There was a touch of creativity in each dish (day 1 we had mint chia seed pudding which was also her first time making it I believe). Made with fresh ingredients. If not from the garden (truly farm to table) then locally sourced. They checked with us prior for any food allergies and our drink preference in the AMs and then didnt forget it. Great location as well to get to wineries, hiking trails, Cornell, Downtown Ithaca, etc. Highly recommend.

Ishhe assigned me a breakfast time slot I did not want though every other gust seemmed to some to breakfast wneevr they wanted and I was consistently served last. I was not provided a GF afternoon snack as promised and she rudely dismissed my reminder saying we don't have any and finally I asked for a full sized blanket (there wasn't one in the room and it was chilly at night) and she said cant you use the throw (a 1/2 size decorative throw). The room itself was in the front and the traffic could be heard almost all night; the cleaning staff did not clear my room of dirty cups and trash and a missing drawer in the bathroom vnity was not replaced. finally alhough she helped every oher guest she did not assist me with dining or destinations recommendations. they are trrying to run an inn part time and I was not treated well. We started our visit with walking tour of the houses with Sean who we could tell absolutely loves his job. He spoke so passionately about everything and was super knowledgeable. We then had a lovely happy hour chat with our inn keeper Anna before a fabulous dinner at 1833 Kitchen & Bar. We had a slight issue with the heating system in our room which was quickly taken care of AND Bill took the time to explain the whole system to my fiancé so we can incorporate thing we like and do not like into our home we're currently building!!! The next morning I had a lovely yoga practice while my fiancé slept in and then we enjoyed the scrumptious granola bars, Ithaca yogurt, juices and coffee! We then had a lovely walk about town and Wells College before lunch at 1833 Kitchen & Bar and then back to the Schoolhouse and Basecamp for a History of the Finger lakes with Mike! We then headed back to the inn for a little Happy Hour chat with Anna again before an amazing experience with Grace at Aurora Cooks. Our dinner demonstration with Grace was phenomenal!!! We learned a lot and she gave us some great tips on the appliance and cookware for our new home. Another breakfast with Anna before heading home this morning! So much fun and relaxation!!! We highly recommend visiting and taking advantage of all the activities the inn has to offer!

Maddie was a great Innkeeper and the house was immaculate. The house is right on the lake and even though it was chilly, we enjoyed sitting by the water, sipping wine and watched the sunset. I completely regret not putting sleep aside when we arrived home from our dinner at the Aurora Inn restaurant to sit by the fire and make s'mores:( Next time for sure! On day one, we had an amazing experience at AuroraCooks! with Grace as she led a unique Butter Tasting! We drank sparkling wine and tried butters from around the world. The butter was great and the instructor, Grace was fantastic! I would definitely sign up for another event again at AuroraCooks! We also enjoyed a historical tour of Aurora by Dale. The information was amazing and we could have stayed on the tour for another hour. Dale is super knowledgable and entertaining. Do yourself a favor and visit the school house to learn more about the activities that you can participate in when you stay. We also had a couple's massage which my husband and I both agreed were the best we had ever had! I will add a review for 1833 Kitchen & Bar on their Yelp page, but ask for Ben as your server and he will take amazing care of you! We will be returning to the Inns of Aurora!

Delicious coffee & snacks 24 hrs a day. A beautiful sunroom to play backgammon in and read a book. All the little touches that make a bed & breakfast a truly *special* place to stay. Breakfast offerings change daily and she uses the freshest ingredients; I'm super picky and every option sounded scrumptious. It was hard to choose just one! HIGHLY recommend the Gazebo room; it is a standalone room situated towards the back of the property and is very private and romantic. The decor is simple, yet elegant. It includes an oversized jet tub, spacious bedroom and bathroom and mini fridge. There is also a fireplace in the room and is stocked with lavender toiletries.
