Toscano is located in Parede, just alongside the Marginal (the coastal road that takes you from Lisbon to Cascais). The restaurant partially overlooks the ocean if you book the right tables.
It's been decades since I have last dined here, back then I wasn't a big fan - I found it to be too expensive for what I consider to be average food. On my most recent visit last week, we went because everything else was closed, and I am glad we did since it was a very pleasant experience.
For our little family gathering of three, we ordered Bacalhau a Bras (salted Cod, eggs, and fries mixed) and the grilled Grouper. All of the dishes were quite good, the Grouper was fresh and the Bacalhau dish was well put together.
Overall, the dinner was quite good, but the desserts were outstanding. We had the Serica (a regional egg-based sweet from Alentejo) an Almond cake and another egg-based Portuguese sweet.
While the dining experience was good what made it memorable was the service which was truly outstanding. Unfortunately, this level of service is increasingly hard to find these days. read more
