Great service backed up by creative drinks and food. All set in a unique outdoor setting. This establishment takes to presentation like a Michelin star restaurant would.

Wonderful restaurant and menu. Our group of ten tasted almost everything on menu and fully satisfied. Service was impeccable. Wines enjoyable.

    The appetizer... AMAZING!

OMG this place is fabulous. I am a food snob from California and the Chef/Owner would make this be a top notch restaurant in Cali.... This was not expected in Mexico much less Holbox. Was not planning on eating here but with the warm welcoming and inviting smile of Claudia brought us right in. The ambiance and inviting atmosphere made this worth stopping. The presentation of the food was 5 . Everything on the menu looked amazing. The steak was perfect along with the fish. You cannot come to Holbox without giving this place a try.

Chef Munoz sends delicious works of art out of his kitchen. If you are looking for a restaurant that is chef driven, cuisine focused with warm attentive service, this is it. We opted not to do the tasting menu so now after seeing the artistry and tasting the delicious food, we must go back. FYI- chef offers a vegan tasting menu if wanted. The patio is particularly charming but you will want a reservation.

What a fabulous meal we had at this little place in Holbox! Claudia, in the front of the house, could not have been more adorable and charming. There's a small, open kitchen producing wonderful smells. The garden out back is like a tiny jewel box. We would have eaten there but it was raining. I won't get too much into food--it was very sophisticated and still entirely local--and wonderful--but the peanut mole was a revelation. Go there.

Our dinner at Milpa was one of the best we had on Holbox. First of all, I'd like to just say how we were truly so impressed by the service (our waiter was Damiel) - it was comparable to the level of attention and professionalism you would expect from many fine dining restaurants in major cities in the US or Europe (and we're frequent Michelin Star diners). Kudos to the owner or whoever has trained the staff to be so courteous and attentive! The food here was very good, and we were genuinely impressed by the presentation and plating! Seriously - even my drink was beautiful! Before our meal even began we were served "welcome drinks" and a complimentary appetizer. Our only complaint was that our drinks were not very strong - but this has been our experience everywhere on the island.

The owner was so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. We're already looking forward to going back in March, and yes, my crazy self called two months in advance to make sure I got the time I wanted. Highly, highly recommend. A true gem and such a unique dining experience in Cozumel.

The restaurant is open-air, the kind of place where fans work overtime and the heat is part of the atmosphere. If you're here for polished white-tablecloth perfection, you're missing the point. This is the kind of place where the food matters, and the people making it matter even more. We started with a margarita -- simple, clean, lime-driven, the way it should be. Then a surprise: a Mexican Chardonnay that was more than just a curiosity. It was bright, elegant, and held its own against what was about to come. The tuna tataki arrived like a quiet promise -- fresh, barely kissed by flame, layered with tomatoes and herbs that tasted like they'd been picked that morning. Then came the pasta. Not just pasta -- house-made, hand-cut strands with that chew you can only get when someone's sweating in the back rolling it out. One plate loaded with clams, briny and delicate, another brimming with mussels, shrimp, tomatoes -- a proper frutti di mare. This was Italian soul filtered through the Caribbean, kissed with garlic and oil, but unmistakably crafted with care. And then dessert. A cacao chocolate cake so rich, so unapologetically decadent, it silenced the table for a moment. This is the kind of cake you remember -- layered, moist, dark, a reminder that pastry is art when it's done right. But food is only part of the story. Joel, our waiter, was the other. A young man brimming with passion, the kind of person who doesn't just serve you but lets you glimpse the beating heart of the restaurant. His pride, his storytelling, his quiet attentiveness -- it elevated the night from a meal to an experience. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. Not because it's fancy, not because it's perfect, but because it's real. Real food, real people, real sweat. And in the end, that's what matters.
