Fried Mero with garlic sauce.

Highly recommend this place. The food and service is great. I usually order the fish of the day fried. They will give you the sauce of your choice.

Fish of the day

Absolutely loved this place, the fish of the day was as fresh as it gets and cooked just right, the aguachile was delicious and the pulpo al ajillo was like Service was great, bit portions, home made salsa was really good, and reasonable prices! Great experience, can't wait to be back.

Scrumptious seafood soup

Las Panchas was probably the best restaurant we tried at the island. The service was great here and that was not the norm, sadly. The food was really good, everything we tried from appetizers to drinks was delicious but the seafood soup was to die for. I could say is the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The fish tacos were incredible fresh and the fish "al ajillo" was unexpectedly different in the best way possible because for some reason it seems that at some point there was a mistake on the word used and what it refers to is to "guajillo" which is a type of chili and not to "ajillo" that's garlic. All the plates were very big portions.

Las Panchas served the best fish tacos I had while in Mexico. My girlfriend got the whole fried fish and loved that as well. Everything was extremely fresh and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back the next time we are in Holbox.

Garlic octopus

We had garlic octopus and garlic shrimp. They were so very good and we're thinking of back tomorrow. There seems to be a lot of local residents enjoying their meals here so definitely must be a great place to eat in Holbox!

This place is sooo delish and authentic. I have eaten here twice so far. The Aguachile is super good and the portions are huge.

I might be the only customer that ever ordered wine!

Just steps from our beachfront hotel, we've already eaten 2 meals at Las Planchas. We've enjoyed ceviche, fish tacos, and grilled shrimp & filleted fish. Customers are a mix of locals and some vacationers, food is fresh, delicious, and authentic. Seating is outdoors under a palapa, at large tables that you sometimes share with other diners when it's busy.

Super surprised how many Hispanics were here, I thought that was a good sign. Nope, some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had.

Very average tacos. I ordered shrimp tacos and they were heavily battered and over cooked. Will not rush back

It's pretty…read moresimple -- the menu is different everyday, with a few entree options that come with rice and fruit. We got a truly gigantic lobster tail, and a seabass filet. The seabass was great, but the lobster was incredible, and unlike anything we'd be able to access in New York. Also a nice date night-type setting, on top of the great food.

Good spot for dinner in Holbox. Nice atmosphere and friendly to families and couples. The place is…read moreknown for having no menu, but offering about four entree options, with guests arriving to enjoy whatever is on offer for the evening. The night we were there, the menu choices included white fish (like sea bass) with poblano chilies, a shrimp with chipotle butter, a mixed seafood dish and a steak entree. Nothing was truly spicy. Later, seeing the small open kitchen, we were surprised at all they produced there with one person cooking. When on Holbox, go for the seafood. (It's a fishing village. You can't go wrong.) The chef came to each table to take orders after his business partner greeted us and shared initial details about the set menu. We tried to buy time to ponder the menu, but the chef let us know we had to order immediately. We didn't want to offend the chef and miss a chance at dinner so we obliged, but maybe a little less pressure would have worked better with our vacation pace. Still a nice dinner experience on the island.
