Tostada mixta (octopus, shrimp, squid)

$60 late lunch for 3. Diners asked each other about the ages of their children. Steak ranchero comes with large tortillas so you can make a burrito. The table salsa is spicy, so watch for the chile seeds. Walk to the back and turn right (behind the kitchen) for the restrooms.

Not sure how this place could ever get a negative review. Service was quick even with it being half full. This was some of the best Mexican food I've had in a very long time, and the horchata was on point! This will be our pit stop everytime.

Machaca con huevo plate

Came across this restaurant while temporarily working in King City. It's literally the best Mexican food I've had in years. Hosts and cooks make you feel welcome. I've been greeted with a smile every time I come in. I've tried different plates however I only took pictures of these 2. Mariscos are delicious with their own unique taste in the sauces. I tried an asada plate today and this was honestly the best asada I've had. The meat was arrachera and it is literally Grilled. Which is what "asada" means. Not your typical diesmillo cooked on a griddle which eventually boils instead of grilling. I tried machaca for the first time, which seems to be a dry beef mixed with veggies and eggs. Finger licking good!Atmosphere is very mellow, where you can enjoy good food and a good conversation with whoever accompanies you. No loud music like most other places. Drinks are served nice and cold! Definitely a 10/10 and a must try if you're in the area.

First time and it was really tasty. Food had great flavor and was fresh. Service was also great, and the restaurant was very clean.

Highly disappointed! I went through Yelp, TripAdvisor and Google reviews. I looked at photos, number of reviews, etc. So bummed. Friendly service, but the food was awful. The rice...never seen that on a Mexican restaurant...boiled rice with vegetables...not even rice pilaf. The beans tasted burnt. The enchilada sauce was pink...that's a first! And not much of it. Zero taste. The taco was stuffed with meat. It was the only decent item. Time to up their game!

Right off the bat the place is very small limited seating inside, but they did put a tarp outside for outdoor dinning. Place is very chill to hang out with friends or have a quick bite for lunch. The enchiladas were good but I feel they were missing something. I have yet to try other dishes in their menu. The drinks are another thing those are amazing. You're stuck in the hot king City weather come grab a Chelada to quench your thirst. . Restaurant provides great presentation of their plates and beverages. Sweet spot to stop by.

Torre de mariscos, excellent

I was picking up some essentials and things at the local Safeway and asked one of the lovely ladies working there where is a couple good places to eat and she suggested this place and another one which is almost next store. This one had a photo of the Torre de Mariscos cocktail so I picked this location. Food came out super fast. Food is excellent too and enough to feed 2 people . You can tell it's a great place because of who eats here.

Chicken soup was everything you'd want.

Holy Michelada my friend! This is one of many regional Mexican cuisines in our town of King City and has a party vibe inside and out. What nice folks! The carry-out trade was bustling but the owners took time to chat with everyone. Our server was gracious. The food- I am a taco lover-search them out. Their shrimp taco is the type made with the filling, then fried. A previous reviewer might not have had this type. It was crunchy, spicy, filled to the brim with flavorful shrimp. A house specialty. Plentiful portions, have some chicken soup here- very good- fun spot in town.

Mango wine margarita

The carnitas were dry and way over cooked, and found some fish bone like stuff in my salad and the margarita glass was hard to handle due to the salt dripping sauce all over the glass and not tasty. No hominy in the menudo soup either. But the service was great and they did take off the carnitas platter off my ticket at my request. The waitress was very friendly and impressed me when she took the order of a table of 13 without writing anything down and getting it all right. I was surprised to see such a large group walk into such a small restaurant but she happily accommodated them and quickly arranged a long set of tables with a smile. I wish them the best.

Very cool decor and vibe. We were warmly welcomed and opted to sit at the bar. It was mid-afternoon…read moreso not real busy. We went with their mushroom toast and French dip. Both were delicious! On our next trip to Monterey, this stop is a must. Do have one regret though. Wish we lived closer to dine here more often. Cheers!

But this restaurant has a big menu with a lot of options and you can tell they try to do more to elevate your dining experience. A good amount of options for vegetarians, even though you wouldn't expect it. We ordered zucchini fries (which were definitely a hit), garlic bread, mozzarella fresca (a favorite), beet salad, and alfredo ravioli (the best entree for vegetarians). I also ordered some pork sliders for myself, which was tender, but a bit too sweet. The Beet salad was really good, fresh, and large. All the dishes we ordered did not disappoint and this was honestly a pleasant surprise cuz I wasn't expecting much in King City at 9pm. All the portions were quite large also so we had plenty of leftovers. Recommend giving this restaurant a try if you're in the area and no idea what restaurant to go to. Ambience and decor isn't bad either, the restaurant is quite large.. They also have a bookcase with coloring books, and games for kids.

After…read moreyears of always staying on the west side of 101 for the fuel and fast foods, we ventured to the east side and on to the main street, Broadway, where there are several Mexican food options. What drew us into Huarache King were the many photos of their food in the windows, and a Vicente Fernandez song playing loudly on their juke box. We grabbed a comfy booth by the window and quickly dove into the extensive menu, which also features photos of each dish. Once our food came we actually had to review the photo of the dish on the menu, and it looked exactly the same. Very nicely done. We had some delicious Ceviche and Shrimp dishes to start, and moved on to their traditional Enchiladas, Chile Verde, and Chile Relleno, all with tasty rice and beans. And all paired nicely with their Horchata. Definitely good "road food," and helped to rejuvenate us for the rest of the drive home. Conveniently located between N. Vanderhurst and N. 3rd Streets, with ample parking right out front.
