This place was recommended to me by my Porto Walkers tour guide, and it was right on point! He told us to go here if we wanted homestyle Portuguese food for an affordable price and it was all so delicious and cheap! We sat at the bar for a late dinner. It was very relaxed, casual and welcoming. Our waitress recommended 2 dishes off of the daily specials menu - a sausage and a fish dish. We ate the couvert (the snacks they put out for you without you ordering, which you pay for only if you eat). They were ok but not really worth it. BUT besides that all of the other food we got was spectacular. We had a bowl of fish stew to start that had a delicious flavorful broth, packed with fish meat and was slightly flavored with fresh mint - kind of sounds strange but it was very good. For our mains - the sausage was made with stewed pork and chicken inside, as well as bread inside, and a fried egg on top. The sausage filling may also sound a little strange but it was unbelievably good and had a great texture. Our other main was salt cod with peppers, onions, and potatoes which was very good as well. During dinner we drank a bottle of vinho verde and after dinner we ordered espresso and port wine. The people behind the bar were so nice, and the whole bill came to 33 euros. They accept credit cards. read more
